I first watched this movie over 5 years ago and fell in love instantly... years later and older, and this is still my favorite movie and favorite soundtrack. Also set off my infinite love for the creations of Sir Tim Burton >.> He's a genius, and so is Johnny, so is Helena...
The genius here is Sondheim, actually. Burton did a good job but the source materials are are the rarity - complex and witty. Burton's mindset does match up nicely with it though.
JohnsonKayla12 Unfortunately the good era of Tim Burton has ended... His last movies were just awful... Don't let me think to Alice in Wo... Ah! I won't say its name!
JohnsonKayla12 To be honest, I didn't like Helena in this part as much. I think, and I found it surprising, she underplayed it. I'm a fan of both the movie and the musical, and putting the two next to eachother, they're very different. There are things the movie does better, like the setting and the atmosphere are terrific, and Sweeney has been given more sympathy(although that is up to interpretation), and Judge Turpin is much more deceiving and clever. sakura petrescu I it's called that because at that moment Todd came to the epiphany that everybody in London, the place he hated so much all deserve to die. At least that's what I took from that moment and song.
Very very good movie! Saw it in the theaters then bought the DVD... My 20yr old son who is into history and music loved it! And loved it more when he learned it was based on true characters...
Sorry I do hate to correct persons but I don't make statements unless I have facts I've read and studied to back them up. Google true crime stories... And then search the real Sweeney Todd. It is what the basis of the movie was built on no there isn't the romance but this is based on facts he was born around 1748? There is a real Fleet Street as well. Thank you and happy reading!

I love this musical, I preformed as Mrs. Lovett in my senior year of high school. I was so honored to play as her, I was just happy I could give the character some justice.

U r like my long lost twin all my friends say that to me when u talk about it! Tried to get them to watch it but they said they'd rather die -.- -.- -.-
I absolutely love how Tim Burton kept the original orchestral texture in this movie. It really makes it lovely. And I must say that I love how Tim added the creepy texture to the music by adding the piano with the tinny, creepy sound is absolutely amazing. :)
i remember every single song!! i can't believe how i have such a bad memory for other things, but when it comes to things i hold very dear to me, i almost have a perfect memory
I think the physical acting in the film is awesome, mostly because so much -is- song. Johnny Depp's physical acting has always been brilliant, and he and Helena Bonham Carter are such a good combination. Love this film :)
***** This was one of his most emotional movies, I think. He just flowed, there was no fault in him. For playing a character so cut off from emotions he could drag you to tears at a moments notice.
It wouldn't have fit in, would have seemed a bit silly, and would have lessened the effect of the ending, as a few people have said, would it have been great for it to be in the soundtrack, yeah but at the end of the day (you're another day older *clears throat* sorry had an out of musical experience there xD) there are already many versions of the Ballad around, so for the end result of the movie it was probably best left out, and I'm rambling now so bye haha

Thanks for this video, it's great to have the whole soundtrack in only one file. My day's starting greatly with this ^.^
RIP Steven Sondheim you absolute genius
These songs are so great ! I particularly like Epiphany at 38:11 ^^
I agree with you. Epiphany is great.
I love epiphany as well. However I don't think they could have given it a stranger name. For the longest time I just called it we all deserve to die
sakura petrescu I it's called that because at that moment Todd came to the epiphany that everybody in London, the place he hated so much all deserve to die. At least that's what I took from that moment and song.
Same! Epiphany is good! I also like the Johanna (Reprise)
I've been listening to this and The Phantom Of The Opera soundtrack for the past 4 hours.
Crying because the perfect sweet sadness of this.
Awesome movie :) My favorite songs:
1. Epiphany
2. A Little Priest
3. Johanna (Reprise)
4. My friends
Why does no one talks about the kid's voice? He's easily the best singer in the movie.
One of the greatest and originals in history of man Kind.
Very very good movie! Saw it in the theaters then bought the DVD... My 20yr old son who is into history and music loved it! And loved it more when he learned it was based on true characters...
Non of the characters portrayed in this movie or the musical were real at any time.
I never tire of listening to that kid, what a marvelous little big voice :)
love this movie,
bestmovie ever

I love this musical, I preformed as Mrs. Lovett in my senior year of high school. I was so honored to play as her, I was just happy I could give the character some justice.
We aren't allowed to perform this bcc it's too gory and "pervokes violence"
Helenaaaaaaaa ♥♥♥♥ She has got perfect voice in the world!
Watched this movie in high school music class 3 years ago
LUCKY
Tell you what, having never watched the film, this is definitely my favourite sound track ever!
I never see the movie but I just love the soundtrack
Saw this film, loved it. Made my entire family watch it cause I just fell in love with the songs and everything and they all hated it and told me I was crazy for liking such a weird and crazy movie -_-
U r like my long lost twin all my friends say that to me when u talk about it! Tried to get them to watch it but they said they'd rather die -.- -.- -.-
Finally, someone who appreciates the actual music, instead of just the singing. I like you. :)
I absolutely love how Tim Burton kept the original orchestral texture in this movie. It really makes it lovely. And I must say that I love how Tim added the creepy texture to the music by adding the piano with the tinny, creepy sound is absolutely amazing. :)
I love Sweeney Todd, such a good movie, I'm glad that you posted this. You're awesome.
most of the views are from me... im obsessed
To from me. Love this music. ❤️❤️❤️
what are you even talking about rn. (this is my shower playlist)
My favorite musical. Saw the musical last year live and it was AMAZING!!!
"Not While I'm Around" is absolutely my favorite
i remember every single song!! i can't believe how i have such a bad memory for other things, but when it comes to things i hold very dear to me, i almost have a perfect memory
Never knew how much of the movie was in song lol, like i know its a musical but about 80% is song that's cool xD
I think the physical acting in the film is awesome, mostly because so much -is- song. Johnny Depp's physical acting has always been brilliant, and he and Helena Bonham Carter are such a good combination. Love this film :)
*****
This was one of his most emotional movies, I think. He just flowed, there was no fault in him. For playing a character so cut off from emotions he could drag you to tears at a moments notice.
I love this music, and having it all in one place is fantastic! Thank you for making this video!!!
Im still bitter that "Ballad of Sweeny Todd" was not in this version.
It wouldn't have fit in, would have seemed a bit silly, and would have lessened the effect of the ending, as a few people have said, would it have been great for it to be in the soundtrack, yeah but at the end of the day (you're another day older *clears throat* sorry had an out of musical experience there xD) there are already many versions of the Ballad around, so for the end result of the movie it was probably best left out, and I'm rambling now so bye haha
you know what I love about this video? it's been up for 43 days and has not yet been gave a solitary dislike. This proves nobody could ever dislike this musical
I've seen 3 plays of Sweeney Todd and I have to say Johnny and Helena make the best duo.
