I've worn my Flighty for years; it's a terrific watch and a great value for the money. EXTRA BONUS - the alarm sub-dial can be set to run continuously to track a second time zone
I've owned a ton of watches, but my Flighty is easily my favorite! It's the second watch I bought for myself and the first watch that I had the "I must own one" feeling for. Swapped out the Hardlex for sapphire a few years back as I had put a few good gashes in the OEM crystal, I would recommend everyone get that done at some point!
My mother bought me this watch about five years ago. I loved it and wore it almost every day. Then we moved country, and the removal people stole it along with three other watches I had. Now my mother has gone and I wanted to buy a new one to "replace" the one she gave me. Turns out that Seiko has discontinued it. So sad.
Got one about a year ago as it's a cult watch. It's totally bonkers and I've tried at least 8 straps on it (the steel strap was removed as soon as it came out of the box) and I've finally settled on a 22mm black leather large hole rally strap with yellow stitching and yellow holes. Amazingly compact and capable for the cost.
That is surprising, I always thought it was way bigger than that, but that's good to know I could pull one off. I understand these are getting a bit harder to come by, but there are still places that have them - well last time I checked that is.
I bought (2) of these for $185/ea. a few years back. One to wear and one as backup since they kept mentioning they were going to stop producing them. As we know, they kept finding more to sell but it finally seems like what's left is left. They're now going for $400+. Grab one while you can!
This is a solid watch I’ve had my for years and it still looks and functions like new great grab and go. GS and seiko and are probably my favorite brand so this is one of the must haves for any seiko collector. But if you weren’t fortunate enough to buy one on the cheap it’s gonna cost you a little more the prices of these have really gone up I haven’t seen many under $400 I only paid I think like $130 for mine which was a no brainer at the time but what they are going for now there are a lot of competition to consider in that price range. I only wish now that I would’ve picked up the different variations when they were still dirt cheap they have a gold one and a white and blue. But this one is the classic seiko flightmaster the one we all think of when you hear someone talk about it
Check out the Uncle Seiko bracelets for this watch. Just bought a President bracelet for my Alpinist and saw the one for the Flighty and it is impressive.
I actually sold my flightmaster because i was stuck for money lol I never regretted selling a watch as much as this one!! A year later i bought another and i will never even consider selling it again!!
Hola buenas noches...me gusta mucho tu reseña del seiko, aprovecho para consultarte, adonde puedo comprar los push button de este modelo? Se me dañaron y me gustaría reemplazarlo pero no encuentro adonde comprarlo....
Love your videos man! Subbed immediately! I'm rocking a black nato strap on my Flighty and it looks very tactile. One of the best looking Seiko's imo, especially at that price!
God I wish this watch wasn’t $700 in Canada right now. I want the watch but not sure I want to spend between $700-900. Toronto Canada in 2024 is crazy when it comes to watch prices.
You'll need more than reading glasses if you want to utilize the slide rule or tachymeter scale. I took the time to learn how it works and it's not difficult to get down. The lume is pathetic, I have to admit. And when utilizing the chronograph, the minute subdial at the top is inaccurate up until it has four minutes under its belt ... and then reflects the correct minute count thereafter. With a lug width of 21mm, finding a proper fitting strap can be challenging, but one can always squeeze in a 22mm if the strap isn't too thick. Timekeeping is also not quite up to par, running slow on mine to the tune of about 5 seconds a month. The case machining isn't all that great, but the polishing overlying it is very nice. The hardlex crystal amplifies the dial's chapter ring depth, making the watch look very deep. I found the flighty to be smaller than I would have liked on my wrist; your wrists will vary, of course. The bezel has just the right amount of drag, too ... stays in place, but moves smoothly whenever you want it to.
I had this watch years ago lasted almost a decade never had a problem then finally stopped watch place said it would cost more to clean it than just get a new one. After going through several watches I miss my flighty and I'm seriously contemplating getting another one. Great video.
I’ve question please help, I found the watch but the seller told me that this watch not made in Japan, however he said it is Japan movement, do you recommend me to buy it? Thanks
Hello sir good evening 🌆, sir I order sna411 and happy about it. Sir I want to know one key of this watch, I seen of this variant the vezel is come with two rotation, like bi-directional and uni-directional rotating bezel. And very confused about it. Which one is better?
Bi directional is better. Unidirectional is more important for dive watches where you don't want to accidentally change the time it is recording to make it seem longer (especially for divers who only have so much time underwater with the oxygen in their tank)
Does Creation Watches ship to you? I see one going for $299.99 USD right now www.creationwatches.com/products/seiko-quartz-262/seiko-pilots-flight-alarm-chronograph-sna411-sna411p1-sna411p-mens-watch-906.html?currency=USD&gclid=CjwKCAjwx7GYBhB7EiwA0d8oe0J4OVgvO7BhT8D_hM5OlC-2apnwH8WtaNaXMKDvV80CkY_qLmNAGhoChMwQAvD_BwE
This SNA411 chronograph watch with 7T62 movement is a flop. Had this watch had the 7T92 movement instead, it could have been a a top notch affordable quartz chronograph,. but it is not because it has an inferior movement. On the other hand, the Seiko Ref. SND253 which is fitted with the 7T92 is the best quartz chronograph ever produced with pilots in mind because it has a 60/12 totalizer, a feature that fighter pilots in WWII would have dreamed of having on their right arm that holds the stick while flying a low dead reckoning at high speed being able to measure ATAs by pushing and re-pushing pusher B throughout the duration of the entire sortie instead of resetting the chronograph at each checkpoint as the go alone This superior chronograph cost around 150 bucks on Chrono 24 . I don't think you can get a brand new one nowadays. At least I haven't seen a new one at an authorized Seiko dealer's store for the last five years or so.
Whilst this is a good flight watch. I prefer the skyhawk at from citizen. The stopwatch is 1/100 sec as well as it being medium frequency updated by night.
Piece of crap! Bought it twice, and twice I returned it,... Terrible misalignments on the chrono hands, useless alarm setting, twice defective. The first one I got, only the chrono was working, but not the rest of the watch,... I gave up and bought a Citizen Nighthawk Eco Drive instead. Happy I did it!
Hope you enjoyed the video! Have a great weekend. Pick up the Flightmaster while you still have the chance: amzn.to/3ocIpqb (affiliate link)

Good tip! This is one of those watches that you can keep learning new things even after years :)
Also worth noting that because of this you can affectively use that dial as a 12 hour chronograph aswell by just setting the time to 0:00

Spot on. Enjoy.
I've been wearing mine for 20 years, an excellent everyday watch!
Its was $272 last year, now its $538 on amazon. Did they discontinue it?
I bought mine used and got it today. It looks even better in reality. Very great watch.
Awesome, glad to hear it! Enjoy

Thank you very much, Alex. Why two? Just curious.

I am not sure I will ever take mine off the bracelet. I love it!
Love the watch, but I went with the blue angels because of the sapphire crystal. For me, that was a dealbreaker.
Understandable
Thanks for review! Going to buy it in 3, 2, 1… 😊
I got one when they were cheap. Wish the lugs were a bit longer.

You have the perfect strap on that watch as well. The silver bracelet it comes with is not appropriate for that watch.
I was late to the game, it's way out of budget for me now. It is a great watch!
It's ok, the price fluctuates, it rises, then falls, then rises, depending on available stock.
Really like my gold flighty that i bought brand new in 2005 quality and accurate
Thanks to your video, I managed to grab 1

Whats the brand of that strap? Looks good!
Thanks for the in depth review. Do you know what the difference between the 100m and 200m flightmasters is? Is one just an older model?
Everyone junks the bracelet, just brush out the polished centre links with a scouring pad. It looks great after. 5 minutes work.

Yes, many of Seiko's watches are not made in Japan, doesn't make them bad.
