That is EXACTLY why I wasn't a fully certified technician. I refused to take the electrical tests because I didn't want to chase ghosts through miles of wires.
I had the same problem with my 2001 grand Cherokee that I bought for my wife a few years ago.only difference was mine was the battery fuse. But it was the same square fuse like yours. It got to the point where I bought her another 2015 grand Cherokee. Finally my friend told me to replace all the fuses and relays after I had already hit it with the parts cannon lol. But it kinda worked out I got the rig to turn in to a off-road rig now and she got her a lot nicer rig out of the deal
Even though it seems simple in hindsight, thanks for sharing for future things to look for. It's the simple obscure things that always cause the most issues.

Hey on grandmas trucks valve covers i had the same ones and i stopped using them because the rocker arms were hitting the underside of the valve covers. Tried to send a link with a picture of the valve cover damage but youtube deleted my other comment. I would take them off and check if there doing that. Glad you got the starting issue fixed. I would of gotten frustrated and just run a choke cable for the fuel shutoff on the injection pump. 😂😂
Watching your videos makes me miss my 97 twelve valve 2500 that much more. when iI heard the ABS light is on and the truck doesn't have ABS I had to laugh. It's been a while since I've worked on one , but the RWAL system on those is still considered an ABS system and one thing that will trigger a light is if the truck RWAL control module sees a speed signal over 25 mph with a park brake signal. You can thank a finicky park brake switch for that most of the time. A reset and it's all good. Enjoyed the video, keep'em coming.👍✌

It was a few years ago that the mechanic gave my girl way more giddy up. I believe every thing they did was in the fuel rack. Sorry I don’t remember the terms. She is a 98 Mexico build in February. The spring was wore out so she wasn’t getting all the fuel the pedal told she should. That in itself was a big difference. But the most amazing difference of all was she was running generator parts because the factory in Mexico ran out of truck parts. She he went from hamsters on the wheel getting on the highway to ponies on the wheel blowing every one away getting on the highway. I hope you can figure out what I am trying to tell you. I am just a old gal that loves her dodge cumins
Been a subscriber since you were working on this truck trying to figure out the engine noise it had in that other engine that was in it. I love those types of problems, love electrical problems, love the challenge. I’ve got a friends 2001 with an intermittent drivability problem. Runs great when you first start it and drive but as it warms up or heat soaks after shutting it off for about 20 minutes it starts up but bucks and misses and will stall sometimes it won’t restart unless it sits for 15 or so minutes. It throws a P0370 code but no check engine light. After multiple hours of diagnosis, checking wires, connections, continuity and resistance the final diag was to spray Freon on the injector pump while it wouldn’t start or was running badly. Cooling down the injector pump caused it to run perfect. Guess what I get to replace when it shows up.
Way easier to replace a vp 44 because its nowhere near as heavy as a p7100 pump. 40-50 pounds doesn't sound bad until you are leaning over the radiator with it. My 1995 12 valve truck was having the same issue as your friends 2001 truck.

I had a headlight fuse like that, checked it and it was good, but if you bumped it it would loose power. Didn’t take me a year but was annoying to find.
That's half the reason I deleted my entire fuse panel and computer deleted Dorothy. I had so many dumb little things wrong with all of it I was tired of all the 5 dollar part failures.
Abs light might be if you have a speed sensor on the rear diff fail. The speedo is read of the trans the computer reads off the diff for auto trans computer
@@VBELTandSON have seen it a few times including on my trucks. Also check the wiring going down to the axle, have had a few chewed and also broken from the axle movement
I have a 2005 3500 , puts 4.5 volts down the brake light wire all the time , also 4.5 volts down the trailer brake wire , push brake pedal, jumps to 12 volts but only drop back to 4.5 volts . doesn't show up as brake lights on with standard bulbs , put led tail lights on and the brake lights stay on all the time as they need less voltage to operate. any thoughts of any one on here ?
Try unhooking / removing the trailer brake box and see if the brake lights go back to normal. If that doesn't help, Maybe replace the headlight switch. These are only suggestions, I have not encountered this issue before.

Intermittent faults are THE WORST to troubleshoot.

Your 97 will have RWAL. That’s what’s triggering the ABS light. I’ll bet you it’s the sensor in the rear axle.

We had an Isuzu when you turned on the turn signal every light inside and out flashed. It was very frustrating till we found a bad fuse
