@LeSteveLST kind of. From what other people have told me, in Undertale having a yellow name always means you can spare them (with the exception of Sans and Asgore) but in Undertale yellow it means you can spare them or they will die if you hit a single shot (or both)
In UTY when an enemy's name is yellow it means that you can either spare them or kill them in one hit. for example with normal enemies if you get them to half hp and do your next attack weak, it'll still deduct the remaining health from the enemy regardless of how strong or weak the attack was. and that goes for Zenith Martlet and Genocide Ceroba.
Oh cool. Although, now that I think about it on the off camera attempt where I killed Martlet with 3/6 bullets their name wasn't yellow. Their name also wasn't yellow on the first recorded attempt where they were 1hp. There's probably some weird mechanic happening there I'm not aware of though

Yeah, I'd be happy to do that! I can do a run where I don't shoot Martlet with the yellow soul and add up each shot's damage to work out Martlet's max HP. I can then work out the damage per yellow soul hit and then work out the health Martlet was on when you performed the skip
@@FactsAndPain You are awesome, thanks so much! I subscribed by the way, I love pages where people play around with game files. Hope you keep finding cool stuff!
I probably won't keep uploading stuff like this, I'll probably make more things like the Undyne video I recently made because this channel to me isn't about gaining subscribers or anything, I just wanna document some personal projects. Still, it means a lot Also I'm pretty sure Martlet has 800HP, I just did a run where Martlet died after taking 800 dmg and 5 pellet shots (because you have to hit at least 4 pellets). I'll work out how much damage the pellets do next and then I should be able to work out the big shot damage and when the desperation attack is triggered
Actually, I can do you one better. As I don't have the time to test anything right now the best I can do is check the highest percentage I've seen the desperation attack activate at. The highest I've seen is 8%, which probably means it activates at 10% or 80hp. Through some bad calculations I would estimate that the pellets (yellow soul attacks) deal 3 dmg, so if you get Martlet to 81-100hp, deal 66 damage and then hit at least 5-7 pellets on the next attack, you should be able to kill. I'll look more into it tomorrow and probably make a video on it eventually (if you don't mind, I wouldn't make it without your permission as it was your idea)
I think your attempt confirms this, as you took martlet to 14% (112hp) with your attack, landed 22 pellet hits (66 damage) during the attack, getting Martlet to 46 hp and then dealt 66 damage. This assumes that (as a big shot deals 7 or 8 hits) a big shot deals 7 * 3 (21) or 8 * 3 (24) dmg
