This game is amazing. I'd recommend playing Pacifist for your first playthrough, and would only advise you to try this route if you're really eager to see everything this project has in store.
The way Martlet dies here just had me disturbed
Sure, only for 15 seconds or less, but hear me out, that last face was terrifying, and the way she just was melting away while calling for help was just downright sad. And the sadder thing is that she’s the last one left, therefore no one could help her either way. But one thing I DO like about zenith martlet is how the devs really decided to make her jab herself with determination and literally make her work so hard to kill clover, and only to turn into an amalgamation in the next 15 minutes.
I know I keep talking about sad stuff but this feels important:
The memories literally make matters worse because the boss (idk his name lol, I need to watch undertale yellow again) tried to warn martlet about the humans. Now she’s losing her life to one ☠️
Martlet Transformation be like: “*I’M DA BIGGEST BARD AM DA BIGGUST BURD
12 likes and no replies? Let me fix that. Also in all seriousness u took the words out of my mouth.
she should be alive since the alagamations can't die she's just more... blob shaped now
She didn't turn into an amalgamation, amalgamations couldn't die. We clearly see that after we defeat Zenith Marlet, she turned into dust. So she only melted.
I think she's sadder than sans cause at least he died in peace no regrets but she is screaming for anyone someone to help her she doesn't and didn't know what DT would do she she's horrified as she just melts away she wanted to save everyone and she knows she can't anymore but she clings on so hard struggling her last words are "N-no! PLEASE!! WHAT DID I DO?! STOP!!! SOMEONE! H E L P M E..." she's so scared of what's going on to her and its honestly bonechilling and if you played this run just know that YOU are the villain
That's a whole lotta yapping, too bad I'm not reading
Btw if your struggling on this fight, here’s what I’ve learned
Make sure you turn auto fire on so you can focus exclusively on dodging
Also make sure to wear the Deltarune Pin and load the Friendliness Pellets into your gun
All of her attacks will deal 11 damage so keep that in mind whenever your considering whether or not to heal.
Her first 4 attacks are completely set and act as a sort of tutorial that show off her moves make sure to use these moments to learn more about how they work
After that she has about 5 attacks that play out in a random order (but do not double up so you can check off which ones happened and which ones you still need to watch out for.)
She also has special attacks that play out during the halfway point and at low health so make sure that you’re prepared to deal with those when they happen
After the halfway attack she’ll unlock 2 more attacks to put into her rotation for a total of 7 but these attacks will only occur at the end of rotation and will reset the loop after just one, resulting in a loop of 6 attacks.
Make sure not to use too many healing items on phase one especially the huge ones like Cupcakes and Gunpowder
After you defeat her she gets a phase 2. Make sure your game is updated to the most recent patch which is 1.1.0 at the time of writing cause that patch adds “endure” to your act selection which will heal you for 23 HP (worth about 2 hits). Don’t worry the patch is save friendly and launching it won’t mess up your save data
If you didn’t notice already, the fight button is unlocked now so whenever you’re at high health start blasting for about 65 damage per shot and if your lower than what makes you comfortable heal with "endure", when you’re in absolutely critical condition, scarf down that gunpowder you’ve been saving up cause it’s a full heal.
The second phase is tougher to predict and avoid but it’s also faster.
Besides that make sure to charge up your big shot on the Starstorm attacks, it erases those projectiles really fast
Good luck everyone, you can do it!
999,999,999 thank you! That really helped!
Can golden bandana work too?
@@averageundertalef4n If you can manage to get it in Genocide, yeah
@@DankFirewolf it’s possible, I did it
*Sniff* But I can't...
Well, I came here to watch how this ends. Her first phase eats through most if not all of my items. I thought her first phase was the end when I first beat her but that second phase with barely any items to heal with just overwhelms me.
Nice job with beating this fight. I don’t think I’m gonna keep stressing myself out trying it myself.
Second phase you can Endure to heal with at least 4HP per turn, though usually more.

Her death is actually probably the most disturbing. She dies knowing damn well everything is her fault for being too soft with Clover before hand. Unlike her judgement counterpart Sans who dies accepting the fact he tried and nothing would’ve changed if he killed you, Martlet literally melts screaming in pain for someone to help her but there’s nobody left but her.
Ironic that one of the most nicest avians in Yellow suffers one of the worst deaths in the game.
We don't even fjcking know does Sans really died, but Martlet...
@@konstralit2105I mean, we did get xp from sans after he left the screen. On top of that, you can also hear the sound of him dusting away like other monsters.

No.
People made no hits on stuff much more crazy than this. So yea.
@@nikolajthepig Ok but the thing is not whether or not you can no hit it, it's the fact that people use the fact that you can no hit a boss as an excuse for the fight being unfair

never playing genocide again
If there were ever a confirmation that this game hates you, it'd have to be this. Not that you don't deserve such punishment, but I would not blame you for giving up here. It's a gut punch in so many ways. It's fucking hard, it makes you feel bad for her (which you should) and THEN it patches in an easy mode, meaning that you had to go out of your way to be a scumbag only for it to give you an easy option after you may have already beaten it. And most players may wish to do so, because Martlet really, really, really, really, REALLY hates you in this run. And it's not even satisfying to pull it off. But that's Genocide runs for you. Gotta love it! = )
Normal martlet:ah yes puzzles hm yes
Zenith martlet:fuck you im gonna shred you into pieces
What determination does to a mf
Is it just me or does this boss look a lot like Jaiden Animations?
She and her bird have become one.
I thought I was the only one -
@@ShermieHasBrainRotthe only one with brain damage?-
LMAOOO SO TRUE
Huh? How? They look nothing alike
I am SO close to just giving up on this game because of this boss. I _really_ don't want to though because there's so much about this game to love, but this is where I have to draw the line. When I look back at Sans, yeah he was ridiculously hard, but he was also fair. His attacks were generally telegraphed well, and once you got the rhythm down, you could dodge them almost every time with more and more practice. It became a test of SKILL, and you'd feel a real sense of accomplishment in figuring out how to outsmart him
Martlet on the other hand is UNFAIRLY difficult because there is almost no consistent rhythm to her attacks. It's utter chaos. (I'm mainly talking about the feathers that shoot out and split apart across your area) I'll admit, with more practice, I could probably get the claw swipes and the wing sweeps down, but I can't, because the feathers then get mixed in with those other attacks. Not to mention they come at you SO fast and from completely randomized directions, that like 9 times out of 10 you're NOT gonna make it through those volleys unscathed, especially with everything else going on at the same time. Like it's basically at the point where it's just not fun anymore. To keep trying at this boss feels like an exercise in futility. I get what the devs were going for here; they wanted to make a boss fight harder than Sans and essentially get across the same moral of "being evil and seeking revenge isn't worth it" making the player feel guilty about what they're doing and come to terms with their own sense of morality, but this just took it too far. At the end of the day, this is still a game. Games are supposed to be fun. I'm not saying you can't have a game be fun AND challenging because you absolutely can, but not like this. The sheer precision it must take to properly avoid ANY of the shit being thrown at you in this fight, and for 2 phases no less, most likely borders on the near perfect concentration and reflexes of a cyborg, and while there are people like that out there, they're very few and far between. This is a game that TONS of people are gonna download and play for themselves, and they all deserve an enjoyable experience
My suggestion for the devs would be to tweak the difficulty of some of the bosses in this game, namely this one, so that they're still challenging, but not so much that they come across as unfair and otherwise unenjoyable. Or at least put in an option to let the player select a difficulty level upon starting the game. Idk, something that would cater to all ranges of players and player skills
I fucking hate how this route tries to be touhou instead of undertale.
I’m genuinely beyond confused at people saying it takes perfect precision to dodge her attacks and that it is utter chaos like that’s straight up not true at all? Her attacks have a clear pattern there’s only two attacks that are unfair the rest are completely fair. I really hate saying skill issue Unironically but in this case yeah.
@@Oreocakesters123 Dude are you an undertale god? Do you play touhou for leisure? Are you playing an updated version of the fight? No it is not.
Also fuck off. "SkiLl iSsUe!1!1" really? You resorted to that?
Bitch, I beat undertale's genocide route SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW, for FUN. Sometimes I even limit myself by not picking up any weapons or armor. It's not a skill issue, this fight is so unfair, and I don't care to keep trying because it's not fun. I don't feel accomplished when I get closer and closer to winning, I feel no drive to keep trying to beat this damned bird.
Say what you will about undertale's genocide route, but on the rare chance i die against undyne or sans, it only fuels my desire to keep going, to get better and better.
Not here, my friend. Not here. And it's a real shame too because this fight looks fucking awesome.

Good job man. Thanks for posting this video, it helped me remember the patterns I had forgotten when I tried again and again.
Just beat it. This fight is not cool man. Needed 3 days just to pass the first phase... when I reached the second one it was midnight and I decided not to turn off my PC until I finished this fking game. It's 01:30 am now and finally I made it. Her attacks are not fair, I could never consistantly dodge the one at 8:51 with these damned claws and cycling feathers what a nightmare. I just prayed this attack won't show up too often. Her tetris like attacks are total bs too, you're supposed to remember every pattern or what.
When her hp was low and she gave her all out attack I hit FIGHT and prayed to the Undertale god I would't miss and the damage would be sufficient to end her because I swear I could have broken my table.
And I beat at least 5 different Touhou games including extra stages so I'm not a total noob either but this game tried too hard to be le ebin difficult game for tryhards it's not even funny. There are many NO HITS videos on UA-cam but they don't feel legit at all, tas or invincibility maybe.
Now... after beating Zenith Martlet do we get a kiss from Ceroba ? Come on, we deserve it.
Man, without Flowey and the Retry option, there's no chance in the devil's domain that any sane human being will be able to reach Asgore. This bird is a WHOLE OBSTACLE.
The ending was anticlimatic given all the works, but hey I guess it's good I don't have to fight freakin' God king Asgore or some crap with candies as my healing options
11:20 for me to refer to cuz this attack always kills me
You know you're in trouble when sans is looking easier than this
This boss was so fun.
I didn't watch the video, this is more of a call for advice. I am at Zenith Martlet, and my save file is glitched (it was like this from the beginning)
I had 0 defense and 0 attack at first, of course that changed. But some ruins enemies also had (possibly placeholder) different dialogue (Specifically Flier, with having lines similiar to Aaron). I also couldn't take anything from the shops, which left me only with items I could buy from Mo (which I forgot to visit in Steamworks) and items I could find in other places. I used all my items in Axis, and monster candy and hotdog are clearly not enough. Also I have Steel Buckle as my armor :(
H E L P .
Also why does Martlet's scream sound like a pokemon cry?
0:01 scream replay
I think she's sadder than sans cause at least he died in peace no regrets but she is screaming for anyone someone to help her she doesn't and didn't know what DT would do she she's horrified as she just melts away she wanted to save everyone and she knows she can't anymore but she clings on so hard struggling her last words are "N-no! PLEASE!! WHAT DID I DO?! STOP!!! SOMEONE! H E L P M E..." she's so scared of what's going on to her and its honestly bonechilling and if you played this run just know that YOU are the villain and YOU suck make no ecuse if you get past her or sans in their fights your a bad person and you may say "its just a game" but they have personalities and even if its just a game you can befriend them and make a happy end but if you hurt someone like this even if its just Fiction MAKE NO MISTAKE you are evil and like they say you deserve to burn in hell as I see it you can cause happiness in others, make their days better, and I DO NOT CARE what your EXCUSE is if its curiosity, evil, any of that but you aren't the hero of the show anymore and you can see that right? so next time you can straighten up and stop doing this kinda thing to characters in games cause their making ai characters now and soon they'll actually have emotions in a sense and in that you can't do THIS to them (sorry but I have extremely high empathy thanks to a mental condition so I can connect with characters in shows
undertale's genocide route is not justified, its the player's fault, undertale yellow consists of clover murdering them all to avenge the dead children, unfair yes but just look at axis fight, clover got SO pissed off because axis killed the blue soul human (even thought he was forced to) that he leveled up 5 fucking levels at once and vaporized his shield and lasered axis to death, even flowey was scared dude, so even if its still wrong, all other endings basically consist on clover dying either willingly or unwillingly and turning in the yellow soul to the monsters so its sort of fair
oh also the fact that most characters drag you around, cause inconveniences.. literally try to fucking kill you and all, if you ask me even if clover did start again and remember everything.. well.. he still has a not very good reason, but a reason to do this (also its also something that is meant to apply to us but yeah we totally suck
There's a BIG difference between doing horrible things in games and doing those same horrible things in real life.
Maybe I would feel a little empathy for this bird brain if her fight wasn't so ridiculously difficult and unfair. She wanted to be the hardest boss fight ? Good. I won't miss her. Die, feathers.
@@jaccrabtree5019 that is, unless it's actually ruining everything, taking away the experience from other people in the community (such as those kinds of fanart in the original Undertale, I'm glad it's not filling it up to the point it actually gets out of hand). As for the games, you can just mess out the values back to normal and presto, everyone's happy again
Undertale and Undertale Yellow theory: Martlet is the bird-like amalgamation that frisk encounters in the true lab
Martlet DIED, as we got XP from her when she did die.
Also the Genocide route is in no way plausibly canon due to the whole killing the entirety of the underground and flowey
And in the other endings she doesn't even use the syringe of determination
this is straight up debunked, as the snowdrake amalgamate is a SNOWDRAKE. Snowy’s mom, not martlet.
@@Sandstheskeleton wrong one, its the reaper bird one they're talking about
No offense but really ass theory and probably one of the easiest UT theories to debunk considering that she turns to dust and the genocide route is obviously not a canon prequel to UT
the alagimation's don't die though in genocide when you fight them they just can't die as hard as I tried their immortal @@DankFirewolf
This boss really had me questioning the decisions of Clover throughout the game. Why not kill Martlet when you had the chance? Of course it’s plot and development but still, just end it already and this abomination won’t have to happen.
Because Clover doesn't intend to kill them just like that, unlike Frisk in Undertale. Yes, the point is that they wants to kill them but it's out of justice towards humans, a distorted form of justice actually, it would be more like revenge. The thing is, they doesn't kill right away, they leaves the enemy a chance to confront them even if it's in vain in the end, Clover is fair in that aspect with monsters, did you see the duel they had with Starlo? They allowed him to give that duel because it's the fair thing to do. In this case, they left Martlet alive because she gave up at the last and carried out a tactical retreat, which they granted her because it was fair. Also, at that time EXP had not been very high, which most likely influenced their decision too.
@@KarterInYT makes sense
@@KarterInYTbut the genocide starlo duel is unfair because you can turn around before the 10 paces
@@FetusDeletus_E
You can shoot when they have taken the 10 steps as well, I think that depends on the player's choice.
Now, if there is a context within the story, I can say that Clover may think that whatever they does is "Fair" even though it clearly isn't to the perspective of others, their way of looking at Justice is not the authentic one to begin with. As I worded in my previous comment, they seeks justice for the missings childrens (despite them being dead, they moves on), THERI way of looking at Justice, is revenge, and revenge tends to be unfair to the rest, not the one executing it.
Maybe I'm contradicting myself but let's say I thought about it a little deeper and well, that's it.

"A self-serving maniac." Martlet couldn't be more wrong. Clover takes Asgore's soul, but then leaves the other human souls alone. With Asgore's soul, presumably, they can take the other human souls. But they don't. They let the souls go free, and leave to help them get home. Justice is righting wrongs- whether that be by punishing the wicked, or compensating the victims. You could make an argument that both the Pacifist and Genocide routes are in character for Clover, in a way.
Clover went out of their way to massacre countless monsters, including Starlo who didn't even try to kill them. Martlet couldn't be more RIGHT.
@@sauce4279 Wrong. Humans are kill on sight in the Underground. Clover knows this. The only reason you'd think it's selfish to defend yourself in a place where you know others have died is because you're too stupid to get that.
