I'm a little underwhelmed by Wren, honestly. She is obviously very flexible but it seems she doesn't have a compelling use case. She will of course get stronger as time goes on and the campaign gets more adventures and variants, and meta stuff will likely shift. That said, her always available status for ToFW will probably come in useful for restrictive variants like Krux and Vin Ursa do. Maybe I'm just cranky because her unlock variant is super annoying and slow. The Elminster patron version sounds like a major pain. Wren might actually be quite useful for rotations that have no tanks otherwise available. I'll probably just skip it for now.
I agree, I was hoping she would put up a bit more in the numbers category. Hopefully the nerf to her Experienced Incarnation just means they plan to do a lot more Turn of Fortune's Wheel variants for her to just continue to grow, because she needs it when compared to Krux. Which I think is a fair comparison. Ultimately I think she's a good fallback Champion. Someone to bring out when restrictions hit for many formations.
I just got Wren today was a pain as my dps was e10 behind but thankfully I had Virgil weather control and got a few weather stacks and just got it I was like phew
Honestly I’m severely disappointed by how difficult the variant to unlock Wren is. Krux was only released a year ago, but Krux’s variant looks like child’s play compared to Wren. Why the massive difficulty spike in so short a time? Krux only needs 55-65 random champions. Wren needs potentially 80+ with **exactly** specific alignments. Instead of removing one champ, it wipes the whole team. Instead of being able to use anyone you want, there’s one of the most restrictive restrictions in the whole game. And on top of all of this, you have to do it all with no gold 😂 like…. Why?!?
That's totally untrue, it doesn't even require significant legendary levels although a supercharged modron core (modest e36)will definitely make it a breeze. With e35 favor , I used 59 champions to complete the adventure and as I wasn't familiar with the sequence that number can be trimmed down even further since I left out geared champions for their next turn that never came to be. ( poor Artemis,Blooshi,Kattie,Jim,Strix,Zorbu,Gale,Karlach,Astarion and DUrge didn't get to play) Of those 59 champions, 6 had legendaries (avg lvl 7) the other 53 were just epics with ilvl less than 50. TLDR, planning required yes, difficult not really
@@manos7958if I had e35 favor too it would probably be a breeze lol I’m essentially capped at e15 right now even though I can push to zone 950 with underleveled champs. It’s just not possible for me to get much more than that right now. At least Rust is in the next event
@@yhnujmik987I think the 1st one pre nerf is the same as the 2nd one currently, except needing 50 more zones. I did the first one post nerf pretty easily, though it was a little tough in certain areas just scraping by. I fully had to rely on swapping heroes out though…. You can’t do that in the 2nd
With rust being op we need a merliwen rework with a skill that boosts her buff multiplicatively for each tabaxi in the formation. They can call it Crazy Cat Girl.

She actively counts as all of her races regardless of specialization choice, but in the case of Asharra is only one person. So, in the case of her Bonds, she is one person for Dwarf and Exotic, even though she's both Tabaxi and Warforged and would theoretically count twice, it's one body counting for Exotic so it's still just 1. Then in the case of Wyll, she counts as all of her races and all of her classes for Folk Hero.
I have some questions about the variant: "You may only use Neutral champions" - does that mean Lawful/Chaotic Neutral or just (True) Neutral? How does the alignment cycle work? a) Does it cycle only through Good alignments? b) Does it cycle through all alignments including the neutrals mentioned above? c) Does it cycle through all alignments except for the Neutral ones? d) There is some other weird combination that I cannot think of. Is there some trick for people with weak (in a sense of item levels) rosters? Or do you just have to force through it? It wouldn't be without some kind of a rant, so: I was hoping for an idle variant, instead of another baby sitting one...
True Neutral Champions can be used at any time, but they still get locked out when the bracket changes every 100 areas. Then besides that every 100 areas it cycles how Clockwork cycles (but this time it's not *or*), Lawful Good - Neutral Good - Chaotic Good - Chaotic Neutral - Chaotic Evil - Neutral Evil - Lawful Evil - Lawful Neutral, then it cycles again. So, for areas 801-900 you're back to Lawful Good and 901-950 you're back to Neutral Good, so plan accordingly for those two being the final push and don't burn out good champions in the first 2 brackets.
@@tyredack Thanks. I guess I was rule lawyering a bit too much. It took me couple of tries, with the final one lasting over 24 hours but I was able to get it done. Rust was the MVP - even though I had to farm One Gold Piece for several hours.

She likes to take up sections of my stream and demand attention. That would have made her such crazy utility for AA in particular for sure, being able to make Durge count as Human while also being a Sorcerer.
I feel we are falling back into a problem I noticed before the recent tier list adjustment. Every new or reworked champion gets into some flavor of A tier. It's not very helpful for making decisions when everyone is squished in the same tier.
It's a symptom of their current threshold of power. All those Champions come close in terms of power, so there's really nowhere else for them to go. Champion bloat. It's coming more down to who do they work with and can you make use of them based on your formation. Maybe they'll release a new garbage Champion soon, though, you never know.
I go over it briefly in the unlock section and will be talking about her on stream, but I know that's not for everybody. Basically make sure you save Lawful Good and Neutral Good options for the 801-900 and the 901-950 area pushes so only pull in area 1-100 and 101-200 from Seats you have multiple options from and take the lesser picks early.
@@tyredack so keep the weaker champions in the back area and stronger champions in the front, if that’s the case, why not use the dark urge for that final 901-950 push?
When I did the first variant I used Durge a little earlier than the end since I knew I had several LG alternatives in seat 11 like Dragonbait. I used him earlier to save a neutral for a LG seat that would have been empty. I managed to finish the first variant with a roster of 74 champs pre nerf, but it was tight. Haven't given the second a go yet.
I would rank her lower cause you need so much effort to unlock her.... fortune wheel is really hard to make teams cause all positionals are in a weird place there, and you need a really big roster to do the variant... still A- but around zorbu
She's a rather difficult Champion to unlock, it's true. I was hoping she would be able to put up Krux numbers because of it. Now hoping we get enough additions to that campaign to make her scale up to better numbers.
Nice that she's not a must have, since I can't even field a full formation in that campaign yet - Krux was hard enough to obtain, only recently got him.
Thanks for the explanation. I mean this constructively, but i really didn't like the montage of opening chests in the video. The flashing lights and music was a little much.

An important question... do we have to smash or pass all three forms, or can we pick per form?
I think this has to be a per form scenario.
