Greens are hard for me. I tend to buy lots of them and use them directly from the tube. This was very helpful. I also like that you list substitutes....as nothing is more frustrating than not having the same color as the instructor and then having to decide which color you have that would be an ok substitute. Love your videos. They have taught me a lot.
I love color mixing it is so fun and fascinating. I like to do color mix swatches just to take a break when I don't know what to paint or when I need inspiration, or whenever I buy a new color to see the range of color that I can get out of it. I have learned so much from you and also Jane Blundell's blog.
Thanks for your lovely comment Lisa! So pleased you like colour mixing and it is such a good idea to paint swatches to understand colours more and for inspiration. So pleased you have learnt so much from the tutorials! PS I love Jane Blundell's blog!! 😊

Brilliant--just amazing mixes to achieve wonderful greens. Would never have thought to mix Prussian Blue and Burnt Umber--lovley deep green. Many thanks for this tutorial!
Beautiful greens and the olives are so delicious! And oh yes, Green Apatite Green is one of my favs too … but I do admit a bias as it’s in the olive green family 🤩 Lovely juicy greens 🤩
I think its not just me Karen that has problems mixing greens, enjoyed this video very helpful thanks greatly appreciated stay safe and healthy. Looking forward to watching your daisy tutorial
Thank you for this very informativ video. It is so much helpfull for me, as a beginner. Please, can you say me: can I mix the color Quinacridone Gold? I don't have this color in my palette.
Thank you so much... Great question btw, you could use Yellow Ochre or Raw Sienna as a substitute and add a touch of Burnt Sienna. Hope this was helpful 😊
Are usually use a little bit more of the darker colour, for instance, the blue. If I’m using Green I’ll add possibly a little bit more blue or some Paynes Grey. Hope this is helpful :-)
Fabulous mixing, thanks! Do you use just one sketch book for your mixing samples! I want to get more organized with my colour mixing so I have a quick reference in one place. 😊
Thanks so much Jan. I use several sketchbooks to colour mix. However if you are starting out I would suggest using the one sketchbook to start off with as you say to have a quick reference guide. Have fun colour mixing 😀
