So hard in fact that I couldn't smother it in guitar leads like I usually do, because the piano lines asked for shapes and patterns which were literally impossible to play on guitar at the song's speed. The piano in the intro is absolutely perfect in my cover as I've timed every note exactly the same to the original, which you can prove for yourself by just lining the start of this up with the original track and playing it at the same time. This remix is amazing! My older brother knew I didn’t want to be spoiled on the end of the game, so he waited patiently for me to reach it. So you can imagine when he saw my reaction to both Volo’s turn and the Giratina boss battle, he had the biggest shit eating grin on his face and laughing like some anime villain when I started panicking at both the music and the difficulty of the fight before then getting one shot by Giratina lol.
You have no idea how hard it was. I actively had to avoid watching let’s plays and Pokémon stuff on UA-cam for a while until I got to that point. Definitely worth it though lol
Volo is easily my favorite villain in the entire franchise. I adored every second he was on screen, even though I saw his betrayal coming immediately. The moment he appeared after getting Cyndaquil, I knew he was evil. Yet I still loved him as a character, and all the little details thrown in to give you hints at his intentions. It's also interesting that Garchomp is the ace of a savior of worlds (Cynthia), and Togekiss being the ace of a world ending threat. I also feel I enhanced my experience further by reading all of his dialogue in Robbie Daymond's voice. :)
I like to imagine that Volo is somehow the “hero of old”, who for some reason or another, has been forced to millenia after millienia walking the earth, trying to help those who hurt, only to see the gears of time grind his progress to sand, and the ebb and flow of space drag people under Eventually, you’re going to start asking whether this world is really so beautiful as to be worth saving
Such few comments and views for such good content! This was great, adding the ending jingle for beating Volo was a great touch. Imagine a remix of Giratina's theme but there's the same fake-out as the game in the middle of the song 😳. Hoping for more from you, Giratina's theme or the credits theme would be great ones, but anything you do will probably sound great!
Thank you very much! Happy that you appreciate the ending jingle! I have a pretty cool idea which involves all three endgame boss themes, but it'll be a while before it's done!
I really wish those last few scenes had been voice acted. I can practically hear him yelling "GIRATINA! STRIKE HIM DOWN!" in full confidence and drunk on power.
so my cousin was spoiled in PLA about fighting arceus, but not volo. As an extreme sinnoh enjoyer I demanded they play through bdsp all the way before finishing PLA and so they're now approaching mount cornet. They've seen giratina in platinum, but never fought Cynthia. I feel like I've set them up for a really bad play session once they hear the piano in PLA.
i dont know whats scarier, the fact Volo was able to tame the pokemon devil in an era where only the most skilled people could hope to tame a pokemon, or the fact Cynthia is a direct descendant of him
That fight holds a special place in my heart. I always considered Giratina my signature Pokemon being both very much Eldritch and Ghost type which is my preffered type. Him using a pokemon i always consider on my side against me was trule amazing to me
This is one of the best covers I've heard. Really makes me feel like I'm battling this idiot, making me get dialga to level 81 so I could use roar of time a bunch. Oh yeah I remember ending the fight with my decidueye using shadow claw. Anywas once again good work!
i picked rowlet too but only because i picked it in sun and moon and i had an amazing bond with it but little did i know typhlosion and incineroar were both better
Imagine how much cooler the end would be if after volo stated he could not live in a world where you get to meet arceus and not him he just dove off the edge of spear pillar never to be seen again.
They'd have to change the game's rating at that point because my goodness, having Volo jump would be insane. Darkest thing explicitly put in a Pokemon game
I mean, 'I can not live in a world where you get to meet Arceus and not me' Followed by Giratina both catching him then opening a portal to the Distortion world for him to live in
Not only does this go hard, but it harmonises so well! It doesn't even feel that much different from the original despite all the changes and it only sounds better.
"I will meet Arceus and create a new world!" "I will be the one that drives you to madness!" "I will be the one that destroys you once and for all!" "I will be your worst nightmare!" "And I will enjoy every second of it!"
Here’s a song I made for Volo. Verse 1: The shadows consume my heart, Darkness holds sway. I have fallen too far apart, There is no way. Chorus: The light has fled, despairs reigns instead, Naught but gloom remains. The light has fled, beneath shadows I've led, Joy now in chains. Verse 2: I grasped for power so vain, Left ruin in my wake. Each life lost, each world in pain, For folly's crooked sake. (repeat chorus) Verse 3: The price of hubris is doom, Innocent blood on my hands. Hope now a shriveled plum, Naught but anguish expands. (repeat chorus) Bridge: The light has left my eyes, And blackened is my heart. Each forward step, I realize, Leads me farther apart. (repeat chorus) Verse 4: There are no more tears left to cry, Sorrow is all I have known. Each light extinguished, as I Have left joy now a stone. (repeat chorus) Chorus: The light has fled, despairs reigns instead, Naught but gloom remains. The light has fled, beneath shadows I've led, Joy now in chains.
This man is the culmination of every single enemy in every anime and game... because "You shall know pain", Omae wa mou shindieru, and Cynthia called... This also triggers every type of ptsd imaginable
This is…………quite literally the definition of perfection. if you asked me what my least favourite thing about this song was, i’d say the end. I had some parts of volo’s original theme that i didn’t like and you removed them. this is literally the perfect song.
Fun fact: the very first thing that Volo teaches you is how to sneak attack Pokémon from behind. *This motherfucker was playing up backstabbing you from the very beginning.*
before my battle with him i thought he was a nice guy but when he revealed himself i was shocked. i never expected this much betrayal in a pokémon game
So... If he had voice acting I'm 100 percent sure he'd be voice by the guy who did Crow in P5. He can pull off Calm and friendly, into craziest person on the planet really well.
“If you really want the plate, you’ll have to fight me for it!” In that moment, every word he said in the past finally made perfect sense, from when we were looking at the giratina statue, to when we first met.
Personally I never really liked his outfit (his Arceus cosplay ig?😞) but that art, like the outfit and hair just look so flowy and it somehow just made it so much better, goes to show how the littlest things change everything And of course I won't forget the music, that was amazing no words in the English dictionary can describe, you can see the blood and sweat poured into this
You can go anywhere... Sinnoh, Unova, Johto, or Alola... You could even travel centuries into the past, but it will never truly save you from her... *Cynthia will always find you.*
I do not know how you did it but you made volo look absolutely more terrifying in the in the cover then the game good job keep up the good work. Oh and great remake you made.
I was already sus of this dude showing up in the most critical places, battling us to know our strategy. But I LEGIT a did not expect him to be the literal cause the game happened in the first place, like, for all we know, this man could’ve been from the future, made a deal with giratina and time traveled alongside us without us noticing in the first place!
Nobody is going to talk that in this part of the game you not only have to defeat Cintia's team but you also have to defeat Giratina, twice and to make it more complicated it has to be followed! I almost jumped off my balcony when I found out 😵

For what it's worth, Pianos and Bells are criminally underused in Symphonic Metal (not that they aren't used, I just want MORE) so this piece scratches a long term itch.

Absolutely killer.
I remember when I found this channel through the horror rpg stuff from Ib and Witch's House
Thanks a ton! Always happy to hear from someone who remembers the OG stuff!
Edit: sorry wrong comment
Ah yes... Witch's House. The game that made me depressed for a full straight week after seeing the ending.
As Alpharad once said
“I wasn’t scared until I heard the piano”
This remix is amazing! My older brother knew I didn’t want to be spoiled on the end of the game, so he waited patiently for me to reach it. So you can imagine when he saw my reaction to both Volo’s turn and the Giratina boss battle, he had the biggest shit eating grin on his face and laughing like some anime villain when I started panicking at both the music and the difficulty of the fight before then getting one shot by Giratina lol.
Thanks! Also man it'd be so hard to avoid spoilers on this fight, but it's great that you got to experience it properly!
You have no idea how hard it was. I actively had to avoid watching let’s plays and Pokémon stuff on UA-cam for a while until I got to that point. Definitely worth it though lol
Volo is giving us the Dio look XD
Just needs some WRYYYYYYY 😁
Absolutely love the shift in music at about 3:47
In game it wasn't too noticable but here it's like volo's theme is in the distortion world
Volo is easily my favorite villain in the entire franchise. :)
Looks like Giratina is smiling... he's enjoying the madness of volo
Altered Forme Giratina always looks happy
just like -fug- Rayquaza
@@UltimatePhantasm Their facial expression is like: haha I'm going to FUC* them 😃🔪
The *madness* of Volo you say? (+)

Stand Master: Volo Brando.
He has the energy of “oh your approaching me” while giritina be like “Wryyyyyyy”
This is what I heard when I was 10 and forgot to heal my pokémon
Pretty much! I used to listen to Metallica while I played Diamond/Pearl back in the day lol
well volo doesnt let you heal in between the phases so yea
@@triangulartriangle The fight wasn't too hard for me surprisingly, but it brought back the memories of true fear and panic I had in the og games
0:53 This part is just... I can't find the words to describe it
I like to imagine that Volo is somehow the “hero of old”, who for some reason or another, has been forced to millenia after millienia walking the earth, trying to help those who hurt, only to see the gears of time grind his progress to sand, and the ebb and flow of space drag people under
Eventually, you’re going to start asking whether this world is really so beautiful as to be worth saving
@@KieranZaneRoberts looking forward to hearing it!
I feel like I've set them up for a really bad play session once they hear the piano in PLA.
i dont know whats scarier, the fact Volo was able to tame the pokemon devil in an era where only the most skilled people could hope to tame a pokemon, or the fact Cynthia is a direct descendant of him
After seeing this image I just want Volo to be voiced by Dio's VA
Now I can't imagine his dialogues without being voiced by Patrick Seitz (or Marc Winslow in our Latin American dub for Jojo).
That fight holds a special place in my heart. I always considered Giratina my signature Pokemon being both very much Eldritch and Ghost type which is my preffered type. Him using a pokemon i always consider on my side against me was trule amazing to me
Volo in this artwork be like : Oh you are approching us?
I wish we got more of "insane" Volo. We barely get any glimpses of his charming maniac smile.
This is one of the best covers I've heard. Really makes me feel like I'm battling this idiot, making me get dialga to level 81 so I could use roar of time a bunch. Oh yeah I remember ending the fight with my decidueye using shadow claw. Anywas once again good work!
Thanks! Glad you like the cover! Love spamming Roar of Time.
i picked rowlet too but only because i picked it in sun and moon and i had an amazing bond with it but little did i know typhlosion and incineroar were both better
I haven’t felt like this in a Pokémon battle since battling Cynthia, and before that long ago against Red on Mt. Silver. Another BATTLE OF LEGEND!
Imagine how much cooler the end would be if after volo stated he could not live in a world where you get to meet arceus and not him he just dove off the edge of spear pillar never to be seen again.
And giratina like picks him up and flies away, similar to what they did with akari and braviary in the trailers
They'd have to change the game's rating at that point because my goodness, having Volo jump would be insane. Darkest thing explicitly put in a Pokemon game
@@rakurai4953 maybe but it would be such a cool scene to watch
I mean, 'I can not live in a world where you get to meet Arceus and not me' Followed by Giratina both catching him then opening a portal to the Distortion world for him to live in
@@a.arcticpilot7027 ok that would’ve been so cool
Not only does this go hard, but it harmonises so well! It doesn't even feel that much different from the original despite all the changes and it only sounds better.
"I will meet Arceus and create a new world!"
"I will be the one that drives you to madness!"
"I will be the one that destroys you once and for all!"
"I will be your worst nightmare!"
"And I will enjoy every second of it!"
Oh, boy. He's cracked. He's gone nuts.
Here’s a song I made for Volo.
Verse 1:
The shadows consume my heart,
Darkness holds sway.
I have fallen too far apart,
There is no way.
Chorus:
The light has fled, despairs reigns instead,
Naught but gloom remains.
The light has fled, beneath shadows I've led,
Joy now in chains.
Verse 2:
I grasped for power so vain,
Left ruin in my wake.
Each life lost, each world in pain,
For folly's crooked sake.
(repeat chorus)
Verse 3:
The price of hubris is doom,
Innocent blood on my hands.
Hope now a shriveled plum,
Naught but anguish expands.
(repeat chorus)
Bridge:
The light has left my eyes,
And blackened is my heart.
Each forward step, I realize,
Leads me farther apart.
(repeat chorus)
Verse 4:
There are no more tears left to cry,
Sorrow is all I have known.
Each light extinguished, as I
Have left joy now a stone.
(repeat chorus)
Chorus:
The light has fled, despairs reigns instead,
Naught but gloom remains.
The light has fled, beneath shadows I've led,
Joy now in chains.
1:05 My favorite part of the song. Also, Volo looks even more psychotic here than he did in the game. lol
Damn that deserves so much more recognition!! 👀 It sounds so cool! It really captures the dramatic and intenseness of the moment!!
Thank you very much! Glad you appreciate it!
This man is the culmination of every single enemy in every anime and game... because "You shall know pain", Omae wa mou shindieru, and Cynthia called... This also triggers every type of ptsd imaginable
this is the kind of composition you expect to hear in Smash
This deserves so much more attention. By far the best cover I've heard of Volo's theme.
Thank you very much! Super glad you like it!
This is…………quite literally the definition of perfection. if you asked me what my least favourite thing about this song was, i’d say the end. I had some parts of volo’s original theme that i didn’t like and you removed them. this is literally the perfect song.
Thank you so much!
You thought it was Volo, but it was me,
DIO!!!!!
I love how the visualised sound looks like the pillars at the temple of sinnoh where this battle occurs
Fun fact: the very first thing that Volo teaches you is how to sneak attack Pokémon from behind. *This motherfucker was playing up backstabbing you from the very beginning.*
before my battle with him i thought he was a nice guy but when he revealed himself i was shocked. i never expected this much betrayal in a pokémon game
is that dio on the thumbnail he looks so cool tho!
The art. The music. You can just feel the absolute raw power that was waiting for us at the very end
Volo is the most badass character in the history of Pokemon.
Getting some Hopes and Dreams feels here
1:05 : * exists *
me : **ascends**
I some how knew from the very beginning he was going to betray us,he was too interested in the plates..
So... If he had voice acting I'm 100 percent sure he'd be voice by the guy who did Crow in P5. He can pull off Calm and friendly, into craziest person on the planet really well.
That'd be pretty cool to hear!
best one i've heard so far. love it.
Thank you so much! Glad you like it!
best pokemon villain and fight love it so much
*slow clap* amazing. I got shivers listening to this.
Thanks a ton! Glad it impressed you!
0:53 just that part sold me so hard
The background volo has me simping
“If you really want the plate, you’ll have to fight me for it!”
In that moment, every word he said in the past finally made perfect sense, from when we were looking at the giratina statue, to when we first met.
An epic cover befitting of a god…but I suppose a fallen angel is just as well.
Incredible remix
Thank you very much!
Volo was straight up the only pokemon villian to have the balls to say "[Legendary Pokemon], Kill this Mfer!"
Everyone: It's a shame Cynthia's ancestors don't battle.
Volo: :) bitch you thought
Personally I never really liked his outfit (his Arceus cosplay ig?😞) but that art, like the outfit and hair just look so flowy and it somehow just made it so much better, goes to show how the littlest things change everything
And of course I won't forget the music, that was amazing no words in the English dictionary can describe, you can see the blood and sweat poured into this
You know your screwed when there's a piano in a pokemon game
As I listened to this, I felt myself fuelled by the dark and mysterious power of the Distortion World itself.
And then I knocked one out.

I do not know how you did it but you made volo look absolutely more terrifying in the in the cover then the game good job keep up the good work. Oh and great remake you made.
Thank you! I recorded and mixed the theme cover, but the artwork in the video is by BK! Glad you like it!
@@KieranZaneRoberts I am looking forward new videos of you 😀😀😀.
I almost jumped off my balcony when I found out 😵
Such good music
Oh no, Volo found a guitar!
Best volo's theme remix I have heared so far!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I really hope they keep the same team for future “Legends” games and hopefully add the Snap team for the textures, etc
