interesting. I really like the idea of making plates for finished models. You could even get a little crazy and burn designs/patterns into the material that's used as the base for the model stand.
I came here looking for a starting point with Lightburn. I'll come back later and finish watching your video. Thank You I was beginning to get exasperated with the whole idea.

Great video. I've been thinking strongly about getting this model laser engraver. I watched a video where it can engrave the reflective film from the back of a mirror and that has me sold on getting one. I have access to mirror for free from a company who have a lot of waste
Cutting styrene? Usually the burns on the side are too much but that could be down to settings.
I've had the neje 2500 for a couple years now, for the tape put it on parchment paper, I use the fbs gold tape in the roll that already has the backing, you will have fun with this for graphics
Believe me, Ortur will definitely be better than neje on products of the same price

This is about a yr late. I just got this model about 2 wks ago. I'll be using GRBL till I get used to it them maybe ik get Lightburn or something like that. If you don't mind me asking how's yours working

I've seen users apply the tape to the substate to be painted - cutting out the image to create a stencil to paint over. That way you aren't trying to reposition the flimsy tape.

This guys was having trouble following the direction provided in the package but on a different channel they recommended going to your website to down load the latest manuals in PDF format and had no trouble ! Maybe let everyone know if you guy provide those !
Did you try to cut thin metal as well?
These lasers are not strong enough for metal, barely even strong enough to engrave some metals
