I love how there's so much lore embedded into the video that you normally wouldn't catch. FB's reputation as an intellectual cespool and privacy violating authority had alreadw begun to develop at this point, it just wouldn't reach full blown mainstream awareness and concern until the whole fake news/data scandal shit.
At most I'd say he was "a bit ahead of the curve" rather than ahead of his time. He'd reached the point of vocally disavowing FB to this degree, maybe a year before a lot of other online/public figures did (though a good portion probably were thinking similar things despite not yet being as vocal).
