Wait, I am 7 seconds in to my first video of yours and had to stop and say WHAT is that gorgeousness on display behind you?!? Wow, it’s beautiful! 💗 ok, on with the video.
These tips were spot on! I mean it totally explained why the energy in my home has felt some kinda way. Especially the bedroom. ...I totally have two mirrors facing each other on each side of the bed. (SMH) Pure chaos! Thanks so much Julie
Let me tell you I hate the mirror facing my bed and we have borrowed furniture renting with family, well I took down the mirror and I felt this huge rush of relief! So happy you told me where a mirror doesn’t belong❤

My home is on the smaller size and I’ve really been struggling to find ways to arrange furniture. I’m hopeful your videos will provide some help! 💜
WONDERFUL, I can't wait for the ENTIRE series - LOVE it! I tried doing this on my own, and gave up! I'm going to decorate our home in a Parisian design, and I'm so happy you said it's OK to add mirrors above our night stand, because I was going to do just that, with beautiful pendant lightings. ***Also, as we go upstairs, on the landing we have a 12' T x 4' W window with a GORGEOUS view of a national park with tall mountains, and beautiful trees (I'm having a reading nook built in on the landing.) As we turn our back toward the window, and continue to go upstairs, and we arrive on the second floor, we are facing an empty wall. I was thinking of adding a big beautiful mirror above a console, or a full length mirror with a thin gilded frame (think Parisian) facing the window and reflecting the view back at us, hoping to recapture that beautiful view once again. Is that good feng shui? I believe you said yes.*** Thank you!!! 😊🌷

@@JulieKhuu I am so excited then I went to their website and they were all getting very close, but it didn’t happen. I wonder if they stopped carrying it. I just NEED that chandelier. Julie, you have mastered design videos. So many young girls try this and waste so much time babbling. You are succinct and very informative. Here's hoping the youngsters check you out.
Another great video of yours. Thank you for sharing with us. I have a question: can mirrors go behind a door? Like I would need to shut the bedroom door to use the mirror on the wall behind it. When the door is shut all it reflects is a clean wall just 3 inches apart from it.
Julie I just discovered your channel today, Ironically I just purchased two full length mirrors for my home. I was so happy to hear your tips on where NOT to place them. I've always had a smaller wall mirror at the foyer area to my living room, I'm just used to checking myself out when leaving. Looking forward to viewing your past videos.
Hi Julie, I am glad I came across your channel at this time. I just purchased a house and I am moving first week of January. Oh girl ! I am addicted to your videos at the moment. What perfect and informative vidios
Love love this!!! Redecorating my bedroom and this answered my questions. Is it ok to cover a mirror that reflects the entrance door with a curtain or something? Thank you ! 💜 please keep the feng shui tips coming!
I have a couple of questions. First, what about a dressing mirror in the bedroom? Second, in your entryway, would having a mirror that only faces the other wall (not a door or at the end of the entryway) be okay? Thank you for your wonderful tips!
Hi Carolyn, I covered both topics in this video. As long as the mirror doesn’t face the bed and it doesn’t interrupt your rest, mirror in the bedroom is Ok. Mirror not facing the entry door is fine too, mine is next to the door on the same wall, but a perpendicular wall works just as well.
Julie Khuu, thank you. I was thinking the entryway would be ok but was confused about the bedroom. All that imprinted in my brain was mirrors in bedroom "no". Thank you for taking the time to clarify for me.
Same also have children who like to slam doors and makes the wall shake. ☹️ I have a couple mirrors I wanna hang but don't really get where I can place them because everywhere is wrong where it looks good decor 🤷🤷
@@lovelymemarie An entry hall without a mirror just doesn't look right to me. I have always been interested in feng shui and find a lot of it is common sense, but I am most interested in design that creates ease of movement and functions well for me. A mirror in the hall is convenient as you can make sure you look "presentable" before heading out. These usually work on the side wall heading toward the door where a small table is also convenient. Some things feel right and some things don't. My dining room has art in it as I would rather look at that rather than amplify people eating. That would look too busy to my eye.
Love the tips! Can I put a mirrored closet door which is on the left side of my front door immediately when I enter the house? It is nice to do final check on what you're wearing before leaving the house.
Thanks for the tips. I am not a Chinese but do have a lot of Chinese friends and am aware of Feng Shui though I don’t know in depth about the concept. I think some principles have logic or practical reasons behind them but I don’t embrace all of Feng Shui advice as some are based only on one’s belief, I think.
I do it all the time to reflect a beautiful light fixture or outdoor scenery in the mirror. No family photos on the mantle or over the fireplace. It symbolizes bad energy for the family (like they’re burning/ on fire)
@@JulieKhuu thank you for that reply, now I can finish redecorating living & dining rm, knowing the right colors, funshui, concepts, & that which is easy on the eye. I also did some shopping in my home, Good advice , Julie, it saved me money. I'll continue to learn from watching & listening to your channel.
Over the fireplace is always one of my favorite places to place a beautiful vintage mirror like one from my childhood home. It helps to bring positive energy into the room, perhaps reflecting light into a somewhat dark space.
I put two mirrors across from each other before and it was everything described here plus feeling like a ghost was in the house. I found out that was bad and promptly took on down. So much better afterwards 💕💕
Thank you for a very detailed explanation about mirrors. What is the best wall art that symbolizes abundance and wealth to place opposite the main entry door? Looking forward to more videos from you.
That hair is too GOOD 😭oh myyy. It's even better than the last video I watched of yours. Colored on the outside, dark underneath and on the sides. Then a gradual transition to more color on the left side ✨. Sooo stunning 🥹. Excellent choice (on your part) and great execution by the stylist!! It's gorgeous and unique! 🙌🏾
@@JulieKhuu I’m not, I’d probably love being one though 😄 Thank you ☺️. It’s special! It deserves to properly be acknowledged 😁. I just REALLY admire anything of beauty (design, art, architecture, nature etc.) along with being pleasing to look at, it speaks to the great deal of effort and care that was put into creating it. And in this case with your hair on top of looking great, it’s so unique. And that just adds to how wonderful it all looks. I LOVE “different” and variety in general. To me hair like that is an expression of someone’s individuality. It’s so fun and stylish. Along with being something awesome you don’t see everyday. So yeah I was definitely transfixed on that hair the whole time. So good ✨ Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays by the way! I hope it’s full of joy! 🎄🎁🥳💫
Omg I love mirrors in bedroom. I believe a floor mirror put in the right corner to reflect something beautiful as you walk in the room. Also a mirror that does show your bedroom when your with your partner because intimacy is beautiful
I’ve been thinking about putting a big round mirror behind my sofa. I’m glad i learned that it is bad feng shui from watching your video. I guess i’ll just find some beautiful artwork to put up there. Thank you 😃
i learnt a lot on where to place mirrors and it is amazing as a begginer in interior designer i have learnt a lot from you, example your confidence thanks so much you inspire me a lot
My toilet is reflected in the bathroom mirror. Not good I know, but I redefine the toilet to be something good...it helps me to get rid of ...and I close the cover. So it is one of my great helper in life that I appreciate ;) Well...belive can move mountains we say in Norway;) Thanks for your always good advice.
It's been 3 years but I came here because you recommended this video in one more recent. I have 3 beautiful antique mirrors waiting to be hung. Considering Feng Shui, I can't see any spot that will really work. Can more than one mirror work in a small dark bathroom or in a stairwell? What about in a seating area in a home office? What about different mirrors stacked? I have a dark entry but was considering hanging a couple mirrors on the wall facing the entry door but they would be several feet from the door reflecting the harbor view (but slider has grids). I enjoy these tips, thanks so much!
Hi Julie, new subie here from South Africa. I love this video. I don't know much about Feng Shui but I have always known not to put mirrors in our bedroom. Funny thing is we only have one big mirror reflecting our dining room in our house (besides the ones in our bathroom ofcourse) Thank you for sharing your knowledge, will def be clued to your channel for more on Feng Shui
Love Your Videos ~ both Feng Shui and decorating. We purchased our home furnished and it has a big mirror on the left side when entering our home from the EAST. The mirror doesn’t reflect the front door but reflects wooden double doors with frosted windows that opens to our dinning room. Wondering if that is ok since the reflection will be our dinning table (northeast) when the doors are open. Also plan to have a cheery custom mural with flowers painted on our dinning room walls. Maybe hang flowers so they are reflected by the mirror. Any guidance you can give would be most appreciated.
Hi, I recently started to rent a guesthouse which have a big sectional tile mirror, amber colour, in the foyer/ reception area that covers almost the whole wall with a big frame around it. When you open the front door of the entrance into the foyer, it looks over the parking area towards the entrance gate and to the street. It is a corner yard at a t-junction, so there is a stop sign just next to the entrance gate. When you go past the reception area you turn into a short corridor that leads to the dining area to the left and lounge to the right. That short corridor also has the same big sectional tile mirror covering the whole wall with big frame around it at the end of the corridor. It receives natural light through a skylight in the roof that actually lights up the whole corridor which is quite dark as it does not have any windows. That is the only fixed mirrors in the house. The bedrooms has mirrors inside the cuboard doors, which is fine. The main family bedroom has a dressing table with mirror facing towards the seating area. I suppose that is fine. Can you give your input upon the entrance and corridor mirrors please.
Tile mirror is not a good idea for Feng Shui because of the broken lines/ grid Marie. The entry mirror will bounce back the chi coming into the home. The corridor mirror is bringing light into the space, but then again it’s also tile. If you replace the corridor one, look for a solid piece of mirror- no grids/ tiles.
Awesome content 👍🏼 this is how our house goes front door, living area, then dining area and a big space wall supposedly for a big mirror. Yes it is facing the dining area and living room but facing front door as well. I will surely appreciate your advice. 🙂
The mirror will prioritize the dining area first Mirasol. If you have a lovely chandelier over the dining space, the chi will bounce around the space as well. Go for it and see how you feel 👍🏻

I had a mirror facing our bed too and we ended up in divorce as well. LOL!!!!! This actually worked out because he was loser.
@@robbievalen4364 People laugh at me when I say about the mirror but it's a real thing, glad you're ok with the divorce 😊
What's the connection between mirror in the room And divorce?
@@RukhShariq mirror facing the bed invites a 3rd person into the relationship, not on purpose
Agreed! You give it power or none at all 🌱
I surround 10 mirrors in front of my wallet, yes yes yes!
Yes! Cha Ching!! 🤑
😂
$ $ $!!!
Lol
🌺I am delighted with your tips👌. Thank you very much 🙏
Thank you so much for watching Catherine!
Placing a mirror on the wall above the fireplace which for years I've seen in a lot of older homes, is that good etiquette or funsui ?
Great tips for Fen Shui! Thank you.
Thank you for watching Rachelle 🙏🏻☺️
Good job! So, pretty much no mirrors except dining table and bathroom. Thanks!
Thank you Paul! You can actually place mirrors everywhere (strategically). These are just tips on what you’ll be attracting when doing so
You have amazing taste all your mirrors are Just glamorous I love the big gold it’s beautiful
Thank you for watching Ellen! She’s a personal fav 🥰
Me: 😵
Currently with 2 full length mirror in the bedroom plus 2 smaller ones hung up on the walls...
Lol pick a fav
@@JulieKhuu I removed 3 since then! Thank you for keeping me busy redecorating during this time 🤗🤗🤗
😂😂😂
I put two mirrors across from each other before and it was everything described here plus feeling like a ghost was in the house. I found out that was bad and promptly took on down. So much better afterwards 💕💕
Awesome! That will give your chi a chance to travel through the space without getting confused 🙌🏻
Thanks so much Julie this video was extremely helpful...now moved all my wrongly placed mirrors for better chi...love Debbie xx
Awesome! Don’t you feel better already? 💕
@@JulieKhuu Certainly do dear Julie xx
Thank you for a very detailed explanation about mirrors. What is the best wall art that symbolizes abundance and wealth to place opposite the main entry door? Looking forward to more videos from you.
I’ll make a video for artwork and symbols soon Sherwin! Look out for more Feng Shui after my design mistakes series 🙏🏻☺️
Aw thank you so much! Are you a stylist? Love your attention to details 🙏🏻💖
@@JulieKhuu I’m not, I’d probably love being one though 😄
Thank you ☺️.
So good ✨
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays by the way! I hope it’s full of joy! 🎄🎁🥳💫
Thank you!!!! More quality feng shui, please!!! Jen

Omg I love mirrors in bedroom. I believe a floor mirror put in the right corner to reflect something beautiful as you walk in the room. Also a mirror that does show your bedroom when your with your partner because intimacy is beautiful
Feng Shui guides against them so that is what this video is about. Do what you love Tammy 👍🏻
I’ve been thinking about putting a big round mirror behind my sofa. I’m glad i learned that it is bad feng shui from watching your video. I guess i’ll just find some beautiful artwork to put up there. Thank you 😃
Yes, artwork will be just as fab!
love to hear from you, Can I put merror facing the sink that were my dining table together?
If it’s facing your table first, I believe the intent is prioritized Valerie 👍🏻☺️

You give it power Siv 😉
Thank you. I learn so much from your video
Thank you for watching M! 🙏🏻☺️
Great video. I disagree with not placing mirrors in the bedroom but agree with everything else.
These are Feng Shui guides, I don’t subscribe to all the tips either, but they still hold value as a principle. Do what works for you Luis! 👍🏻
Awesome! 🙌🏻 You don’t need me at all ☺️

Thank you for watching 🙏🏻☺️
Love Your Videos ~ both Feng Shui and decorating.
We purchased our home furnished and it has a big mirror on the left side when entering our home from the EAST. The mirror doesn’t reflect the front door but reflects wooden double doors with frosted windows that opens to our dinning room. Wondering if that is ok since the reflection will be our dinning table (northeast) when the doors are open. Also plan to have a cheery custom mural with flowers painted on our dinning room walls. Maybe hang flowers so they are reflected by the mirror. Any guidance you can give would be most appreciated.
Very helpful advice, thank you!! 🌹✨
Very well put. Thank you!
Thank you for watching 🙏🏻☺️
Yay, I have only just got into feng shui and I am really interested in Feng Shui’ing my home.
Feng Shui has so much power if you believe in it ✨
I’m really enjoying your channel. A combination of a sudden move, late third trimester pregnancy with my first child, and COVID has led to a strong nesting urge. Thank goodness I found you! Have you done a series of Feng Shui fixes using case studies (including viewers who need help... ahem... bedroom-office, need I say more?)? Take care, Julie.
ETA, because pregnancy brain: Yay! You’re doing a series! I’ve been watching them.
