actually, no. Remember when the earth master came to get sqx out of his room when he was locked in there? He wasn't expecting xie lian to be there and when xie lian tried coming along he told him to not meddle with everything. He knew shi qingxuan would always choose to go with his brother. He lead him hand in hand, from telling him his past to figuring out what his brother did to leading him to his lair. That was his plan. Unfortunately his revenge had always included shi qingxuan and nothing could've stopped that unless sqx didnt choose to go with his borther for once, which he xuan knew wouldn't happen :')
Honestly, I was alittle confused as to why He Xuan would try and encourage him not to go to his lair like I thought that was his plan all along since the beginning?
@@icecreamcookie8565 I think that He Xuan was giving SQX the Illusion of choice. "Giving" him the option to back out of the situation when in reality he was going to end up where he wanted him. This way he seemed like the "caring friend", Earth master. So, pretty much what @roswemrei above mentioned.
This is the arc I've been avoiding Shi Qing Xuan is my favorite character after hualian and he ends tragically even though he doesn't know anything but he has to bear the consequences that his brother made even though I know it's because Shi Wu Du really loves him.
Get through it, it's worth it. Whilst it's not a perfect happy end, I think he is afterwards happier than he has been before. He is given the chance to get out of the net of lies his brother wove for him, a nest he was rather unhappily caught in and his brother was too stubborn to admit the mistake or accept anything else than his vision of what QX was supposed to be so in a way QX finally got set free.

@@jen9808 yes I ended up reading everything and it seems that way, he got rid of the destiny that was guiding him in a way throughout all of his time up there and could come to haunt him at any time, so while it might not have been the best outcome, it was truly not the worst one, although it still must have been horrendous for him to go through all of it..
wind master didn't deserve to be punished for a sin his brother committed. It was really unfair that he had to bear the consequences even though he was innocent. But i was glad to read in the novel that even after having to live a beggers life shi Qing xuan wasn't unhappy or depressed. He got along with his fellow begger friends and that really made me happy.
NOOOOOO MY BABY- When I first started the series, I immediately decided Shi Qingxuan was my favorite outside the main couple. The Black Water arc hurt so bad, like I understand but also whyyyyyyyyy???? The poor thing didn’t deserve it he’s literally so sweet 😢

I have an inkling feeling that HX actually does take an arguably tiny but still a liking to him so despite the punishment for their deception he secretly does look out for him. Tldr he does get traumatised and punished, but he lives and is set free from the web that his brother spun to get him godhood.
Ah yes the arch that rips all our hearts out and honestly ripped out the heart of these two idiots too. It's so damn obvious how much He Xuan actually cares for Shi Qingxuan but when it came down to the wire the most he could do was simply let him live. He tried so hard to get Shi Qingxuan to turn around and not go after Shi Wudu to just leave him be but our beloved Wind Master the cinnamon roll he is just couldn't help himself and shit hit the fan. I really think that if Shi Qingxuan had never gone after Shi Wudu and had simply stayed at the Yushi Huang's place he would've never gotten hurt. He Xuan would've dealt with Shi Wudu and moved on like nothing happened and he totally wasn't involved.

Tbh in all this the only person i feel bad for is He Xuan... It was as SWD said... even if He Xuan took his revenge the two brothers still benefitted having lived good lives for hundreds of years... SWD deserved what happened to him... for SQX his orginal fate could have only been worse not better... but He Xuan was robbed of his godhood and his family... to have his lover and sister be forcibly taken away and turned into bedmates... can't imagine how awful it must have been... i felt sad for him even after he took his revenge successfully...

That's right. If I'm remembering correctly, He Xuan captures the real earth master as soon as he ascends, so the whole time SQX has known Ming Yi, it's really been Black Water
My heart still breaks being reminded of this arc, I know this is Wudu's retribution but I also understand that he did it all out of love for Qingxuan, he did not want his brother to die and suffer a fate of being haunted by the jinx monster, but I also understand that he ruined someone else's life for it, He Xuan was destined for greatness yet his fate was suddenly swapped. I understand why he killed him and that Wudu's ways of doing things were not the best choice but I sincerely hoped that Wudu would still live because honestly if I were him I would have done something similar to save the most important person in my life. Edit: This is just my opinion but I think Black Water should have not killed him,.

This is based off a novel named 'Heaven Official's Blessing'. There is a manhua adaptation of same name on bilibili comics, but it will take some time to reach this arc and is on hiatus rn as far as I know. You can read the novel if you are curious about the story. It is a very good book.
