Ey i feel this is kinda same with luigi wins by doing ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING, expect theres an Wilson.
Stupid idea: if the distance horizontally and vertically between two spaces is 1, then the diagonal distance is 1,41. What if the distance is set to cost 1,5 instead, and you can go diagonally, but you have to do it an even number of times. This will allow you to move 2 spaces for the cost of 3, which can allow you to reach the star even if there's a mismatch of even/odd spaces. If you're going somewhere diagonally, you'll also reach further. The only issue I see is how you even would choose such direction.

The Waluigi die is 0+1+3+5+5+7 = 21 (average 3,5 spaces). So you don't get further on average using this die either.
