Hey! :) Overall, the order of application looks good. However, why did you choose Glycolic Acid for your acne and blackheads and not Salicylic Acid (BHA)? Also, depending on how stubborn your blackheads may be, I recommend extracting them with an extraction tool from time to time and then maintaining it with the exfoliant.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you Melissa. Oh it’s dark spot i just used black to show how dark it is, what i have is dark spots from long ago and new ones as well. Not, that's not necessary. I mean, you can add it, but it's also fine to use the exfoliant on its own or follow just with a moisturizer (if you use one) afterwards. Just wait for each product to absorb into the skin before moving on to the next step :)

Here's the suggested order for your skincare routine: Clean your face. Pat your face dry. Apply glycolic acid. Wait for 2 minutes. Apply snail mucin. Wait for 30-60 seconds. Apply niacinamide.

Hey :) Yes, that is also how I use these cleansers when using Glycolic Acid. But it would be best if you balanced it to your personal skin needs, which means you may not be able to do that daily. But I cannot tell you how often you can do it since it depends on your overall skin tolerance. I usually do it only a few times a week.

Hello Melissa, i have an oily skin, full of pores and dark spots due to the acne which appeared prior. Do you think using Glycolic acid and niacinamide could brighten and even my skin?
Hey! :) Yes, this combination can work. However, Glycolic Acid should make your oily skin oilier, have a look at Salicylic Acid or Retinol/Retinoid. Also, make sure to use a non-exfoliating acid cleanser suitable for normal to oily skin, and you don't need a cream-type moisturizer. Instead, use a hydrating essence, serum, or lightweight gel-type moisturizer; you want to include a hydrating product :)
Hello Melissa, Thanks for this video. I do not have a lot of acne issues except blackheads on my nose and a few sprinkled on my cheeks. My mouth region is slightly dry and flakes up pretty commonly. I also occasionally get one or two pimples around my mouth area. I needed suggestions from you on my routine. Mr current routine is as follows AM (regular): Laneige moist cream cleanser CosRX snail mucin CeraVe Hyaluronic acid serum Cetaphil daily moisturizer Sunscreen PM: Laneige moist cream cleanser Cera Ve hydrating Hyaluronic acid toner CosRX snail mucin The ordinary niacinamide 10% Aveeno positively radiant night cream PM (Once in two days): Laneige moist cream cleanser Pixi Glow Tonic CosRX snail mucin Cera Ve Hyaluronic acid serum Aveeno Positively Radiant night cream. Could you please suggest if these combinations are good for my mentioned skin type and if I need to include any changes in my routine? Also I would like to include Vitamin C and Retinol in my routine as I am 25 and would like to start on them. Any idea on how I can incorporate them in my routine and if there are any products I need to add to or minus from this routine? Your suggestions would be of great help!
Hey! Do you experience redness around your mouth, or just dryness, flaking, and occasional pimples? I have similar concerns around my mouth as you do, but my skin doesn't react well to Glycolic Acid. It seems a bit too aggressive for me. Instead, I've found that Lactic Acid or Mandelic Acid works better for my skin! :) When I experience dryness around my mouth, I just use a moisturizer there since the rest of my face isn't really dry. For the other areas, I use a hydrating toner, essence, or serum on its own. If you're looking to treat your blackheads, you should consider using a Salicylic Acid Exfoliant or getting them extracted by a professional from time to time. AM (regular): Laneige moist cream cleanser CosRX snail mucin CeraVe Hyaluronic acid serum (Vitamin C Serum) Cetaphil daily moisturizer (only where you experience dryness or skip it completely if your sunscreen feels hydrating enough) Sunscreen You may also want to consider using just one hydrating product, either your essence or serum. Test it out and see what works best for you. PM: Laneige moist cream cleanser CeraVe hydrating Hyaluronic acid toner CosRX snail mucin The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% (Retinol) Aveeno Positively Radiant night cream PM (Once every two days): Laneige moist cream cleanser Pixi Glow Tonic (and Salicylic Acid for your blackheads) CosRX snail mucin CeraVe Hyaluronic acid serum Aveeno Positively Radiant night cream. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey! 😊 Well, you could use both exfoliating acids, but use them at different times. However, you need to figure out the frequency that works best for you to avoid irritation. You may also have luck with either Niacinamide or Alpha Arbutin to lighten your dark spots.

Also, make sure to use a non-exfoliating acid cleanser suitable for normal to oily skin, and you don't need a cream-type moisturizer. Instead, use a hydrating essence, serum, or lightweight gel-type moisturizer; you want to include a hydrating product :)

Hi is this correct for dull skin with dark acne spots?
AM and Pm
Cerave foaming cleanser
Glycolic
Niacinamide
Alpha arbutin
Moisturizer
yes 😊
Hello Melissa,
Thanks for this video.
I do not have a lot of acne issues except blackheads on my nose and a few sprinkled on my cheeks. My mouth region is slightly dry and flakes up pretty commonly. I also occasionally get one or two pimples around my mouth area.
I needed suggestions from you on my routine.
Mr current routine is as follows
AM (regular):
Laneige moist cream cleanser
CosRX snail mucin
CeraVe Hyaluronic acid serum
Cetaphil daily moisturizer
Sunscreen
PM:
Laneige moist cream cleanser
Cera Ve hydrating Hyaluronic acid toner
CosRX snail mucin
The ordinary niacinamide 10%
Aveeno positively radiant night cream
PM (Once in two days):
Laneige moist cream cleanser
Pixi Glow Tonic
CosRX snail mucin
Cera Ve Hyaluronic acid serum
Aveeno Positively Radiant night cream.
When I experience dryness around my mouth, I just use a moisturizer there since the rest of my face isn't really dry. For the other areas, I use a hydrating toner, essence, or serum on its own.
If you're looking to treat your blackheads, you should consider using a Salicylic Acid Exfoliant or getting them extracted by a professional from time to time.
AM (regular):
Laneige moist cream cleanser
CosRX snail mucin
CeraVe Hyaluronic acid serum
(Vitamin C Serum)
Cetaphil daily moisturizer (only where you experience dryness or skip it completely if your sunscreen feels hydrating enough)
Sunscreen
You may also want to consider using just one hydrating product, either your essence or serum. Test it out and see what works best for you.
PM:
Laneige moist cream cleanser
CeraVe hydrating Hyaluronic acid toner
CosRX snail mucin
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10%
(Retinol)
Aveeno Positively Radiant night cream
PM (Once every two days):
Laneige moist cream cleanser
Pixi Glow Tonic (and Salicylic Acid for your blackheads)
CosRX snail mucin
CeraVe Hyaluronic acid serum
Aveeno Positively Radiant night cream.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I can't use my niacnamide serum at the same day with the salicylic acid exfoliate??
@@lililu883 You can use them during the same day or even same routine :)
What about salicylic acid, does it really need 30 minutes before using a niacinamide serum in the same routine?
No, same as with the Glycolic Acid. But I see that I also need to record one with Salicylic Acid because that article always pops up, and lots of people think they really need to wait that long 😕
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet It's not just about niacinamide serum. Some articles even talk about moisturizer, It can't be used directly after salicylic acid because of the acidity difference?😕
No, it is not an issue. I really had these articles 😏
Hello Mellisa, I hope ur doing well.
I have oily, akne prone and uneven skin (dark spots) , I was told the clear set from The Ordinary was good with the ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. (also to remove dark spots on knees, ellbows ect).
The clear set contains Salicylic Acid 2% Solution, I would like to know if I can use it with the Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, as Im familiar with the benefits of niacinamide.
Would it be better to separate them into am and pm routine?
Is this enough for a skin care routine or would u advise me to add/replace or remove smt?
Thank you for your time
Hey! 😊 Well, you could use both exfoliating acids, but use them at different times. However, you need to figure out the frequency that works best for you to avoid irritation. You may also have luck with either Niacinamide or Alpha Arbutin to lighten your dark spots.
