Fixing the Road into Bushcamp

  • The road into my offgrid cabin needed some upgrading! It was in pretty bad shape, very rocky and rutted up from being so wet this spring. Being so rough it takes a really long time to travel it and fixing it up will save me a lot of time and wear on my equipment. So we brought out some machinery and got it done!
Welcome to Traplines and Inlines, this channel focuses on my dog and I on our remote Off the Grid Homestead in Northern Canada. I make videos on off grid homesteading and building, trapping, chickens, mechanical projects, and hunting and fishing.
I went offgrid and started building my cabin over two years ago, while I was still in highschool. Since then I have built many things at the homestead and have had the priviledge of learning many things along the way.
The homestead is designed to be relatively low maintenance and with extremely minimal expenses. All of my electricity comes from solar power, heat from woodstoves, and I haul all my water so I dont have any monthly costs associated with my homestead.
I love the lifestyle, especially because it gives me the absolute freedom to do whatever I please. I plan on continuing to tackle awesome projects and work at building and fixing many more things, and I cant wait to share them with you on the channel.
    Thanks for watching!

LOL. This mess is far too relatable at our off grid place in Manitoba. Mile long driveway of similar soil type. Wet as all hell though this year and I still haven't been able to get in with a vehicle since the ground thawed. Every time she's close to passable the rain lets loose again. ATV in and out is the only way anything comes in. From groceries to cattle, it gets in by ATV. Sweet tractor you've got to pull those boulders out! Box blade would be your best friend if you can get your hands on one once you get enough rock out of there. Glad to find your channel. Cheers

can you lift the front axle of the disc harrow? so you can build a road base instead of pushing out all the material on the roadside which will only prevent the water from draining away from the road body.

We have a lot of great cabins here in Kentucky I've seen quite a few that have Rock bases or foundations, maybe you can use those rocks for that. Or the fireplace inside? Of course you could do a nice old fashioned rock wall to close in a small front yard area or garden around your new cabin and Last but not least if you wanted to put in a pond they would be great for fill in the bottom. I'd love to watch you do any of those projects... Turn those dayumn lemons into some lemonade... lol 😆..

I musta missed a lot of videos.... and damn it, this seventy three years of old fermenting shit of a man I was, don't care to miss as I barely remember this tractor... its coming back yes, but remember you using a freaking fourwheeler to get trees from the bush when this tractor would of been the ticket for some of it... time for a skid steer an some different buckets that help screen the dirt an rock apart an then the limestone or what ever your pits give up for road base. I think that you decided against raising chickens for the given minute to do the furniture and some other treasure your discovering. Still wish that your sorry ass would find the love of a damn good dog... you will never even come close to knowing the meaning of a true damn friend! Let me say as a former soldier from foreign wars, defending that rights of yours to pack what is right, any damn gun you want, buy any damn product..etc. A true friend will give his life unconditionally for saving yours.. no fucking maybe. I have a good damn many scars to prove I did just that an knew I was dead yet that maker of ours has some plan to keep me around. I shouldn't be, I never go four hours without suffering some pain that make so many puke an run for the pain clinic for some joy feeling pain management. Get a ripper behind that tractor an get serious.. use the rock where the roads always flooding so it can be a natural culvert of sort till ya decide just what is right. I wish ya the best, an wish we were sharing a plate of beaver tail soup
