I have never drank nor smoke... I am looking to get into wine... your video has been extremely helpful as there are few things I like to get into without know exactly what I’m getting into... I have a problem with Migraines but, I need the benefits of red wine without the high levels of tannin... if you have any advise I’m open... I looking for a good quality Gamay or Pinot Nior... I don’t mind paying for quality... are there any suggestions?
Hi. Thanks for watching, and I'm glad the videos are being a help to you. You might try some Cru Beaujolais (my cast on Beaujolais has a list of the 10 Crus). These should be relatively low-in-tannin Gamays that will be mid-to-light bodied but still complex and interesting. You can also try some Beaujolais Villages for a similar profile. Good quality to price ratio here. Burgundy will have some nice, low-tannin examples of Pinot. I just had a terrific Premier Cru, a Maranges by J.C. Regnaudot that was very light in tannin yet still rich and complex. That was about $35, so, not cheap, but worth the expense in my opinion and you should be able to find good village level wines that will fit the profile you're looking for. Also, if you can find them, check out reds (Pinots) from Sancerre in the Northern Loire. Oregon would be a good region to check out, too. Let me know what you find, so I can make better recommendations to others. Cheers and enjoy your wine journey!
