Huge Queen fan here! Check out Somebody To Love live in Montreal 1981! It’s fantastic! Also, Tie Your Mother Down from 11/7/86 concert at Wembley! Queen is one of the few (maybe the only one) bands that are so much better live than in studio. I’m here to see all your Queen reactions❤
"I did not realise how big Queen was" - you should show him the video from the Green Day official channel taken from the stage of the 65,000 crowd at Hyde Park, London singing Bohemian Rhapsody
@@VicEclectica It was - I was there...about 10 rows back in the centre of the general admission area - imagine how good it would have been if we'd practiced!
HI Guys, Thanks for reacting to Queen & Freddie! FYI, Just a note re. Queen’s Live Aid set: If you decide to react to it… Please be sure to pick a copy of the video that starts with a pair of comedians dressed as policemen, introducing the band! (This is the easiest way to avoid accidentally using a “one-off” video of the Live Aid set, that’s circulating on YT, which is incomplete/is missing part of the ending.)🙏🏻
Live version of Somebody to Love from Montreal. Innuendo Barcelona - theme tune from the 1992? Olympics (I think that's technically Freddie Mercury, not Queen). The Show Must Go On
Here's one you already know, I bet: Another One Bites the Dust. Also Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Both hit #1 in the U.S. I enjoyed your reaction to Queen, and subscribed.🤗👏
Fab reaction 😊 Very long story short - The great genre of Rock and Roll was born in American blues and guitar music that floated across the Atlantic into all of Uk's post-war bored teenagers arms via the major ports, that inspired a generation of musicians who built on and morphed it into the early sixties British invasion who took the music of Beatles, Rolling Stones , Led Zeppelin, The Who , The Yardbirds , Cream, Tom Jones etc back to America, and then brought their blues and rock n roll semi retired heroes over to the UK , giving Blues a resusitation of support. The British wave continued to evole into prod rock of Pink Floyd etc and the heavy metal of Black Sabbath etc and the pop rock of Queen . America created Rock and roll, which changed Britain, then Britain evolved it into Rock music and changed America. Nothing has ever been the same since. Without all this there would be no Nirvanna...
Something I am sure you have never heard is, Love of My Life. There are several great live versions, but to see Freddie crowd control listen to Rock in Rio. 250,000 in attendance sing the song to Freddie and give Brian a special tribute.
Great reaction! Me encanta cuando escuchan Queen por primera vez 🥰🥰 Other Queen Suggestions: - Innuendo (a very deep song) ❤🙏 - Somebody to love /official video (amazing voices) - I want it all (very strong) - Another one bites the dust (very rhythmic) - Who wants to live forever/official video (a sad and beautiful song) - I want to break free - Under pressure - Save me - A kind of magic - You´re my best friend - Its a hard life - Radio ga ga - Live Aid 1985 full concert ¡Saludos, desde Argentina!
It's just the Majesty, Queen!!! Freddy, Brian, Roger, and most forgotten John Deacon on the Bass!!! Give Freddies best Friend the honour he deserves. He said, there is no "Queen" for him without Freddie and quit 22 years ago Guy has nuts!!!
Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow, considered the first speed metal/thrash song. Metallica covered it and won a Grammy. Last count according to the music industry Queen has sold nearly 300 million albums, also according to news reports their music catalog offers is 1.7 billion if they sell it. Great reaction
Thanks, guys... yep, major Queen fan here.. my teenage obsession... this is a whole BAND.. Freddie is amazing, but it's not just him & some "back-up guys"... you probably will be surprised at how many songs you know that you didn't know were by Queen... appreciate your reaction... (p.s. I don't know ALL the movies that may have used this song, but I do know that it was in "Shaun of the Dead" lol)
One of my favorite queen songs. Love love all of them intensely. Deacon is so cute too, just chilling while all of them are giving their intense best. Ohhh Freddie you are so missed and love. Roger too is amazing woohoo❤
Shaun of the Dead featured this song (as well as You’re my Best Friend). This is the best song due lifting your spirits! Keep checking out Queen! Such a great band
Still one of the artist/bands with the most plays on Spotify (if not the most)..over 30 years on…says it all really. It may be that they are more recognisable to the US Market than the Beatles (not saying they were better!). It’s funny how the Beatles popularity has dropped since they limited what was available on the streaming platforms
Queen was just together way longer as a group than The Beatles. Queen. 20 years with Freddie Mercury, and they stayed together, (don’t listen to any rumors…plenty of interviews by band members show they only took breaks …which is how they stuck together.) The Beatles, about 10 years, with a lot if who’s tearing them apart. I live both, and all the members of both, but Queen was the King of all of them, imo, due to mostly Freddie, ut all if them are truly amazing and talented and educated. That helped them a lot. The US sort of turned a cold shoulder to Queen due to their conservatism back then, but more… There are going to be millions of suggested songs, I myself can’t pick…they had some amazing songs, right until the end. The ones you know are onky the tip of a huge ice burg. I’d say try Innuendo…it’s from their album by the same name released early the year Freddie passed, and his voice is so amazing. On the whole album. OMG, I want to go on and on. I LOVE QUEEN ….miss Freddie so much.
Thank you, thank you ... needed this! Give a listen to their "Stone Cild Crazy". Listen to "Somebody To Love" written by Freddie Mercury, his vocal and piano with entire Queen harmonies and musicianship will blow your mind.
The irreplaceable legend Freddie Mercury is the best vocalist songwriter and frontman ever. Check out( somebody to love) live HD Montreal Freddy said it's actually a better song that he wrote then Bohemian Rhapsody. Also ( One Vision documentary) a song inspired and dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr . The best version live Wembley 1986.
Yeah everyone knows this one you guys. You want a deep cut I guarantee he hasn’t heard? March of the Black Queen off Queen 2. It’s the precursor to Bohemian Rhapsody. So complicated they never played it live.
I love both the Beatles and Queen. The Beatles, though, changed roock music. They were able to break the short play AM radio format, which enabled all the creative longer play rock music that came later.
Queen's Greatest Hits album is the Biggest selling Album of ALL time. 1 in 3 households in the UK have that album...I feel The Beatles & Queen in some respect and personal opinion are considered equal over here in the UK... Also, I agree as others have commented...checkout the Queen song, Innuendo...
You might have heard this amazing song in the movie Shawn of the Dead… in the fabulous bar scene where the town folks have to beat the zombies up 😂✌🏼 Highly recommend the movie but at the very least the Bar Scene is a must 💥
Gabe had obviously never heard of Beatlemania 😂. For a small island we haven't done that bad have we 🤣. The Beatles was the first British invasion and in the 80s came the second.
You need to play Stone Cold Crazy for the Metallica fan! Gabe may not know Metallica covered this Queen song! Or Under Pressure, and if he mentions Vanilla Ice, you have my permission to do the necessary! 😠🤣 I think a lot of British bands heard the original US blues players and were highly influenced by it in the 60's.
Live Aid concert 1985, princes of the universe, who wants to live forever, innuendo, the show was go on, I want to break free, radio ga ga, love of my live, little thing called love, somebody to love, flash Gordon’s movie song, …..
Then you guys should definitely react to LIVE AID 1985….have Jody join the both of you when you do…you guys will enjoy that concert I’m sure 👍🏻 probably Queens greatest performance of all time in the Wembley Stadium in London (ps: the movie Bohemian Rhapsody replicated that concert to the smallest detail - brilliantly done
I see them in San Francisco November 8th there are better way better than I thought no one's better than Freddy but Adam Lambert sounded really really good live
Don't know what Queen songs that you have watched but if you haven't already Bohemian Rapsody. Fat bottom girls. Who wants to live forever both Queen and beatles are in the altimeter top ten of top or most successful bands along side genesis ABBA
Fear not Gabe, rock and roll is American. Although if you want to go back far enough it is made up of the music from the non-natives i.e. Europeans and Africans - but we won't go THAT far back 😆 For English speaking countries (and a lot else) the US dominated popular music for most of the first six decades of the 20th century. By the mid 50s this had morphed into Rock and Roll (e.g. Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Eddie Cochran, Chuck Berry etc.). There's a whole college course there on how it developed and its significance to US music and culture in general. Rock and Roll was exciting, slightly rebellious and FUN but by the early 1960s pop music had become formulaic and, to a large extent, bland. It needed a kick up the backside. Enter the UK based groups who took their inspiration from rock and roll, blues and other forms of US R&B. All of them were basically cover bands, until The Beatles who proved you could write and sing your own material and be successful. What's more they took this music and sold it back to the Americans. Voila, the British invasion. There's another college course here about why this happened and it's effect on US (and world) music and culture. The third college course centres around how the British produced so many great bands and artists in the 1960s. Was it the environment, the structure of society, the economy, the water ?? Bands like the Beatles, Stones, Who, Kinks, Small Faces, Pink Floyd etc. Artists like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Joe Cocker, Steve Winwood, Rod Stewart and so on. And that carried on into the 70s with Bowie, Queen, ELO, Black Sabbath ... My suggestion for your next Queen track is "Now I'm Here" followed by "Killer Queen". Rock on.
Queen songs.... well... there's a couple... Somebody to Love, Fat Bottom Girls, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Killer Queen, Under Pressure, Love of My Life, Who Wants to Live Forever, I Want to Break Free, My Best Friend, Bicycle (edit: and Radio GaGa obviously ooops)... and those are only the most famous ones. After hearing those, dive into the albums. And no, Queen is in no way bigger than the Beatles. Much of Queen's enduring success is based on one person - Freddie Mercury. Not saying the other band members aren't talented, because quite obviously they are and I have mad respect - but with the Beatles... the Beatles are in a league all their own. Each member was a star in their own right and each were successful long after the band split. There is no way to adequately put into words in the form of a UA-cam comment how big the Beatles were, nor how big their mark on music. One of the biggest debates one will ever have in their life (outside of politics and Star Wars) is which Beatles album is the best. lol Both rabbit holes are a lot of fun - enjoy!

Queen are definitely very well known stateside and I love them deeply, but bigger in America than The Beatles. Errrrr,no,not even close. That applies to everyone actually.
Perhaps to the older generation. But the younger generation in the US have grown up hearing Queen songs in TV commercials, and at their “football” and basketball games, and in the movies. They may not know it’s Queen, but they know many of the songs. I lived in the US for 11 years. I heard Queen everywhere. Beatles- not so much. But no one can deny the Beatles were the biggest music sensation in their time, and highly influential.
Bands that surpass the Beatles: Queen, the Kinks, Buck's Fizz, Madness, Spandau Ballet, Status Quo, the Beach Boys, the Bangles, A-Ha, ABBA, Kansas, Led Zeppelin, the Travelling Wilburys, the Petshop Boys, Clannad, Runrig, Cernunnos Rising and that's just off the top of my head. The Beatles were mediocre at best.
