This song talks to me so much... since 2016 each wave hit me harder and harder there seems to be No End but it make me more stronger till my last breath..
Thank You U2, for Songs of Innocence! Never before in the history of the music industry has an artist completely gave away an album.. Every Breaking Wave, and Volcano are my favorite songs from the album.. Again, Thank You..
They added to Itunes.. Make a free itunes account for an Ipad or iphone or whatever, and you'll still probably get the album free... I woke up one day and here's this U2 album on it.. People complained.. U2's official statement was "F#%K You," or something like that..
Ben halpin I didn't know that, but your facts are wrong after checking them.. Apple paid 100 mil to the albums marketing campaign which included their ads.. And the article which I'm sure you read stated either $52mil for full product, or the upfront of $5mil.. Nor apple or U2 disclosed how much they actually made..

In my opinion, probably their most solid, A to Z record they have done in a long time. No weak songs. The only thing that I can think of that might have brought this album down, was people felt they were forced to listen to this when Apple automatically included it in the iTunes. It was the best album released that year.

Couldn’t agree more! As painful as this song is to me sometimes we need a little pain to reflect and move forward. And a side note I’m also from Portugal :)
I used to leave the radio on while I slept in 1983 in hopes of hearing a beautiful new song... "New Years Day." 32 years later, this band caught me again with this song. Wow.

my younger brother passed away from colon cancer 2 weeks ago. As I was cleaning up and leaving the hospital I heard music on and off. It was this song buffering on my Iphone in my pocket, all songs were deleted but this somehow played. After my wife watched the video, the ending with Sam being told "You're gonna be OK" a coincidence or something more? Am I a casualty with the war of cancer? Like that character Sam. U2's music has always been great! What is truly amazing is how they have evolved in their sound! I love it! This one and Song For Someone are two of my favorites!

The greatest band ever. Great people, awesome life performances, treat their fans so well, consistent, real, and well spoken among generations that aren't saying anything that provokes thought.
The day my father died, suddenly from the phone I had in my pocket this song started playing for no obvious reason. It wasn’t in any of my playlists and I had never listened to it before!

U2 is my oldest love in music. Bono's voice, Edge's great sound and guitar playing and the solid and original spine of the band with Larry and Adam who are always forgotten... Just one of the best bands still active that never changed a band member and that was never afraid to take chances. I would love your input on the first video of my first album. It got the attention of one of my heroes Joe Bouchard (ex bass player founding members of BÖC) who is following us on Soundcloud but returns from people who likes same music is always the best. This is the best piece of art; I was listening to this on the plane back from Bulgaria looking down at the lights of Belgium and the fainting sunset which kept getting brighter as I got closer to the UK
One day i startes itunes and there was „Songs of innocence“. I wondered but startet to listen to it and noticed the wonderful songs, especially „every breaking wave“ - it‘s such a beautiful song and touches my soul everytime I listen to it. I also noticed the discussions and anger about releasing the album at the itunes cloud and that it appered to anyone‘s account - which I just can‘t comprehend because without this I would have never had the idea or intention to listen to this wonderful album. I just want to say „Thank you“ to U2 and itunes for giving me access to this wonderful music ❤️

If you have just 3 minutes to listen and a bit more to comment, that would mean the world to me. Keep rockin' : ua-cam.com/video/YJqmsXd8QH4/v-deo.html&t
This song is a classic Honestly the whole album is a classic 🦾🔥🔥🔥
This is up their with some of their best work.
Amazing to think of their longevity and to still make songs that are not just album fillers
This song is why I love U2.
when you don't realize that U2's music was first released, and realize that as time goes by, the more you listen to it, the better and cooler it gets..
The memories this song brings every time I listen to it .. can't be described 💔

Beautiful song....
This, imo...is their most underrated song ever. This and Zooropa.

U2 numbers introduces me to my inner self, inner parts that I didn't know existed...works as a catalyst in my growth beyond matter beyond time.
lol i rmbr getting this recommended on my SoundCloud when i was a freshman in high school …. i even wrote this song name in my journal that i used to write in back when i was a young teen bc i liked it so much …… so nostalgic and weird that I’m 21 now but this song still really makes me emotional for sum reason idk but crazy how we all have those songs that we have that can make us rmbr exactly what point in our life we were at …. bittersweet moments (-,:
It's songs like this one that remind me why U 2 is and will always be my number one band
I never really knew what this song meant. Now I’m graduating and all my friends and I are going separate ways. It’s like an end of an era and I don’t know how to deal with this.
" end of an era and I don’t know how to deal with this. " Then it's up to YOU to start a new one, a new era.....
@@Become_A_Paid_Electronics_Tech a new era..
