Original and unrestored vehicles are so neat. To bad they cannot talk. Excellent job of preservation Zach 👍👍👍👍

Hey nice work! I have a 1942 I am working on. You should post a video of how you did your brakes. I can’t find any videos of G506 brake rebuilds.

Anyone that has ever driven an old Army deuce and a half knows you don't get many creature comforts with them. Seats were hard as a rock after a few hours of driving and don't forget that armstrong steering. But those old WWII era trucks were tough as nails compared to the wimpy stuff coming out of today's factories. They were built to do a job and they did it very well.

I have one built in 1943. yours is really nice and complete should be easy to restore . Embosed side shields are correct for those trucks produced from 41" and 42" the brushed guard grill on 41 and 42 production were the serpentine style. you have agreat truck

A very nice survivor in deed , lots to be said to leave the patina and just keep the mechanicals in good shape.
Very envious of your heater , seems others are converting to 12 volt to make their life easier for electrical extras , and not found any one making repro 6 volt heaters yet.

I own the same truck! Korean war survivor, is what I'm told. All original patina and drivetrain. Rumor has it that it was a safety truck in Central California. Then a cattle ranch truck until 1981. Got it running already! Feel free to message me and share ideas.

Great video Zack. We are in Australia and my Father in law has one of these., they are fairly rare over here. I showed him your video and he loved it! His also has the raised embosed side covers.

That’s cool. I had fallen out of love with the truck when I did this video and had it up for sale. I was asking too much for it so I guess I like it more than I was putting on. I’m counting on David’s new book to help me fall back in love with Jumbo!

@@zackmagnusson8583 He should be shipping yours to you shortly and hopefully you will fall back in love. I have "not" sold several vehicles like that - including my M274 Mule - by asking a price that would make me OK to sell it, but probably above market. I do have seller's regret with one vehicle, though, 'cause a guy showed up with the cash and paid my asking price....

Survivor is a mighty strong word to use here. Other then the cab and few odds, this truck is pieced together and restored. A very nice truck but a "survivor" it is not.

Mine has the embossed Chevrolet on it too. I think they all did, maybe people are getting confused with other models that didn't.

Mr. Magnusson, Is this truck for sale? I am on the hunt for a G506 and would like to have a serious conversation about purchasing yours if it is available. Thank you.

That's not a original engine. That engine came in that truck was a Dipper 235 look like the 216. That engine currently in there is a 1954 to 62 235 which is the better motor with more horsepower, but not original
