I am an ESL teacher at an international school in China, and have recently started a comic book club. I think it's a perfect way to teach the English language in a fun and unintimidating manner, with a focus on slang and colloquial English. We meet for the first time next week and I am super excited!
I use to read Cap Underpants as kind of a loophole as comics were always banned, cause Cap was like a comic disguised as a chapter book lol. Never understood why they were banned, and everytime I try to explain that they have value, help you learn to read etc. I get looked at sideways. Thank you for not only allowing comics, but encouraging them. It's true I rarely checked out books from the library until I found out they had comics, then I started checking out books along with them.
