wouldn't mind an updated vid of what you need as a HGV driver since you been in the role for a while.. do you still use the ratchet winder for example? how you boil your water, have you ever needed to use your map you purchased? do you still use the handheld torch or would prefer a head torch? need thermals for the winter? a usb fan for the summer? cleaning products for cab and yourself? steel cap boots or trainers? bag size for the week out and the contents ect

I have decided to take the plunge and try and get my HGV licence. I came across one of your vids and found it very interesting.
So, starting with this one, i shall now go through all of your blogs so that i get an idea of what i can expect in my quest.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience's and knowledge, much appreciated.
Like you, this is something that i have wanted to do for quite some time. Due to personal circumstances it has not really been viable, until now. Hopefully my age will not go against me (54) .We shall see, fingers crossed.

Hi Colin, go for it - you’re age doesn’t matter. Pass your medical and provisional and you’ll be well on your way. Thank you for your kind comments and your support too 😊 I wish you all the best with your training and keep in touch 👍

Thanks Billy. I'm up to your vid where you reveal you have passed your practical test. Absolutley made up for you. Condolences and best wishes for yourself and your family regarding your sad news of your father passing.
Well done for pushing on and drawing on your fathers advice to you regarding getting the licence.
My wife passed earlier on this year (Feb) and this is the main reason that i want to get my licence having been her carer for the last 20 years. New career, new start.
Have been umming and arghing about taking the plunge, your progress and blogs have basically made my mind up about going for it.
Keep the updates coming please, they are truly inspiring.
      ATB, Col.

@@colinwells3722 thanks! Means a lot. Plenty of videos are on the way - to help yourself and others. That’s why I do this, and of course in memory of my father who I wish was here to see me doing this. He would be proud. I’m going to get a photo of him, and he will sit in the passenger seat on my journeys up and down the country 👍😊

I was 53 when i was where you are on this day so age is no limit... also my ankles was not checked, i did declare mild arthritis and it was not a problem.

Hi mate, I have just been enrolled onto the government hgv bottcamp, and I am going to watch all your videos to help me with that to expect. But I do hav3 a question you claimed you paid for your medical and provisional, but I was told all costs were included. Care to shed some light on why you paid please.

Yes. It is funded from what I’m aware of. I only paid for them myself to speed the process up on my side 😊👍

@Billy HGV UK ok thanks for clarifying, got a question, do you know if the theory and hazard test are the same for class 2 as the government doesn't fund for class 1 anymore.
