About The Riddler: Year One:
The Riddler wasn’t simply an amusing eccentric with an affinity for wordplay and baffling clues, but as terrifying a villain as any in the annals of the Dark Knight. Here you can see Edward Nashton evolve into the menace known as the Riddler. How did an unknown forensic accountant uncover the dark secrets of Gotham’s underworld and come so close to bringing down the entire city? This six-issue miniseries is an immediate prequel to The Batman-the detailed, disturbing, and at times shocking story of a man with nothing to lose.
This Issue was absolutely incredible, it felt like a training montage and man how about the art.
Man. Such a good prequel comic run. Can't wait for the Arkham spinoff show and for the next movie. Matt Reeves knows what he's doing.
Absolutely fantastic comic run! I love the artwork in this series. That shot of Arkham up close by the main gate is sick cause you can see Batman standing on the roof with his cape blowing in the wind. Fuckin love it! I wonder if Edward took that tour to scope out the interior of Arkham so he can eventually escape? I guess that's pretty obvious, huh? lol.
I'd love to see a prequel comic like this with Catwoman and the Penguin, lol. I might be too obsessed with this world and the characters in it, lol. But I don't give a shit!

Id the 3rd movie to be about the aftermath of jokers and riddlers breakout from arkham and is highlighted through trailers and promo that it's the centre of focus of the batman 3 but actually will be a subplot only taking up 2 3rds of the movie as its revealed in the movie late that the court of owls allowed this to happen to take a more control approach on to gotham from behind the shadows
25:43 was easter egg for killer croc, i think if it were to paul dano he would have introduce superman etc.
I might’ve just been using the regular ol Hook before Jus before the events of the Film, I don’t actually see a problem with that. It kinda shows how his gear has Drastically Improved

I think this universe could end with a more comic book accurate live action the dark knight returns movie that the movies build up to.
What if killer croc is an actual croc? But has human level intelligence like that tv series based off the book of animals gaining sentience.
If we get an Arkham breakout in The Batman 3 where a bunch of inmates and villains break out, I hope Edward runs free and dons a suit and bowler hat, maybe with a nerdy green tie. Just a grounded reference to his original designs
22:20 i think riddler did right just like courropted officials, citizens are curropted too, and because of both of them he and many many suffered. and it helped in a kind of way

Since the Batman is years 2 that would mean Superman is likely active but still on hiding and figuring himself out. Theyre only a few years apart in age but Batman does start detection before Superman reveals himself completely. I figure James Gunn would tackle the storyline that would take placr following Smallville. The events that took place leading up to the Man of Steel. Clark would just be getting into journalism sneaking and speeding around stopping global catastrophe around the time the Batman rises. Superman would still be a myth but Lois Lane would certainly be active. Would be cool to see an article in a newspaper during the Batman regarding the man and the myth that was done by Lois Lane or something sweet and simple like breaking news report in the background at some point. Maybe even during a spin off
Reeves Batman is in its own universe separate from Gunns DC....

It literally makes no sense to include metropolis if Superman is not canon or will never be included - what is the point of this detail? Pretty dumb if you ask me
it’s not Matt Reeves writing the comics is it? They’re canon but it’s not by him. It’s just world building I suppose, but yes a part of me is irked that we’re being teased with Metropolis references that will most likely never pay off substantially
