I've always lived to my own slow pace. When I was a teenager my friends went to school, studied, played sports and worked part time. I couldn't do all of that, it was too much, I needed time for myself, to listen to music, to watch a movie, to go to the beach. Now 40 years later I still live at my own slow pace. That's the right pace for me. 😊
GOD BLESS YOU, Nigel! Because of you and your channel, my life is so much BETTER!!! I thank you, so much! CHEERS AND CARRY ON!!!!!!! Your friend, Jeff!✌️💙✌️💙✌️💙✌️💙✌️💙✌️💙✌️💙🙏✝️🐺🌈👍💯😇
I switched off the computer at lunch time and took my two and half yr old granddaughter to the beach. We had some warm sunshine, I was sick of trying to reply to endless work emails - so off we went… A few hours outside, an ice cream and lots of toddler talk. We had. great time, and I felt much better 🤗 it’s not rocket science 👍
Just been for an evening walk in the countryside in North Yorkshire where I live . The sunset was amazing and the sky was blue and orange . At the same time there was a huge full moon and we could hear lots of owls hooting and there was mist forming on the fields .The beauty of it made me want to cry . I cannot understand why anyone would ever want to go anywhere else , the sense of peace and perfectness as if I had accomplished everything I could ever want was so powerful . A lot of people don’t get me , but I knew you’d understand what I mean so I just had to post on here .
Of course I understand. I love walking in the evening, when everything, including the atmosphere closes down for the night. The sounds are clear, the creatures of the evening are making their presence known. It’s a magical time. My brother has lived in North Yorkshire since he went to uni 50 years ago. I’ve spent so much of my time there. He lives in Stokesley. Is that North Yorkshire or Cleveland? I don’t really care. I love it up there. I’m looking to move, and Marton, Great Ayton, Stokesley is where I’d like to go…. If I can afford the rent. 😊
@@primalengland thank you for replying . Just googled it and it is in North Yorkshire .Hope you get to be where you want but I bet you’ll find beauty in nature wherever you go . Definitely a wonderful time of day and to think I could have watched telly and missed it . Another lovely day to look forward to tomorrow , blue skies , peace and love to you and lovely Molly .
I made the move to slow living by turning off the TV and going for walks....that's really all it takes tbh the rest is just lovely marshmallow topping, Also a foot long slowlife that make me chuckle quite a lot hahaha
I'm supporting 81yr old parents, one poorly.. I'm stressed, overwhelming at times as still have full time job.. But I go to the sea front everyday for an hour with cuppa.. It gives me some peace.

I lived what most called a simple life, its bloody hard work, took a while to work out, it was a slow life i was actually looking for, i like a tidy house so if i dont have clutter its clean, i don't want to work full-time so im frugal i guess really im just lazy :)
Nope, you are not lazy imo, just a rational human being. I used to call myself lazy but now I choose not to insult myself. My house is small and tidy and ( mostly) decluttered. It gives me time to think, to rationalise my feelings so that they don't become prevailing emotions - so I am less stressed and can then help others in a more rational and caring way.
Lazy is just a label idiots give other people. In the end why should it bother other people if your environment is untidy or messy or you work 4 hours a week or whatever? It's THEIR problem not yours
Thank you, Nigel, and Molly, for sharing your peaceful morning walk with us. Oh, and by the way, I totally LOVE your jacket!!!! :) Today is Monday, and part of my joy in life is playing beachball in the pool at the YMCA with a large group of new friends of all ages, up to 94 years old! Hi Nigel, like you I've lived a slow life for very many years. I used to compare myself to others and question if there was something wrong with me. But I can honestly say I'm happy. I find it funny that slow living has now become a "thing". Does that make me normal? I hope not!
It’s crazy how many people who live in the MATRIX want to get out of it since covid. Especially with cost of living now. The TENSION is building though….😮

Hello Nigel, hope all is well your end ? I so enjoy your talk. It's interesting to listen to your thoughts. I wish I was there and take a walk with you and Molly. I appreciate how real you are. You talk about slow living how it really is and not what some want us to see on the surface (though they are enjoyable to watch). And yes: if you own too much stuff, it's suffocating. Your channel is a gem and I'm so glad you were recommended to me 👍🙏. I'm sending you and Molly blessings 🙏
Thank you. Yes they are, slowly, but I see other creators with many more subs but no interaction. I’m just happy we have great little community who interact with me and each other…. It’s great! 😊
Beautifully said. Your walk reminds me of beautiful walks here in the Mendip Hills. Complete and utter peace and quiet. Just the sounds of the earth beneath you & the sounds of nature. Bliss.
Thank you, David. Yes, I hear there are areas in the US where the weather is similar to ours. It’s funny, because I think we imagine it to be long hot summers and very hard winters.
@@primalengland Yep! Not so here. We have mild winters and rain and gloom for 10 months of the year. Summer comes and goes so quickly it's like whiplash. By the time you start to enjoy yourself it's over.
Thank you Nigel for sharing your stories 😊 you are a great story teller! I particularly like how practical your advice is. I love quiet mornings, and am perusing a quieter, less consumer-based life as well.
Thank you, Nigel, for always reassuring me that I am not the only one who does not want nor need the 'newest stuff' and is content with family life routine! Happy as I am! Weather is quite the same here in the North of Germany! Misty in the mornings and then this glorious mild sunshine casting gold over colour-changing nature! And the smells! Peace and Love ❤🐕🍂🌻🍁🍄🌞 🪷 Edit: Rewatched this morning! It really looks quite the same outside, here! Aren't the ferns beautiful! Magical early autumn! Very inviting, calm and fragrant! 🪴🍂🌳🌞 I always thought I'm a night owl! Might turn into a true morning person, little by little! Hello Nigel and Molly! I was unaware of your existence until about 3 hours ago, when this video popped up in my list of recommended. I really appreciate your view of the world, and life, and imo you have a natural, charismatic, way of communicating it that is very enjoyable to watch. I've been bingeing several of your videos, and especially appreciated this one, and the one about "The slow process of dying." (I liked changing the word dying to relaxing) It hit home with me, because, at 58 years old, the last few years I've been lamenting the fact that I have some physical issues, most notably a fragile lower back, and a stomach hernia, when I used to be a strong, physical person. I think watching that video, it finally clicked in my brain that it's ok that I'm not what I used to be. Going forward I will try to actually enjoy "relaxing", and doing the things I still can do. Thank you for making me realize that! I've subbed to your channel so I can go back and watch more old videos, and look forward to new videos. I hope you and Molly have a great day! (Edit) The video I mentioned was actually called "The long and gentile process of dying." I'm sure Nigel knew which one I meant, but I mention it now because I actually love that title. It's such a spot on way of saying it, perfect. For some reason couldn't think of the correct title in my op. Old fart with a brain fart, I suppose. That video is one of the best videos on YT, imho. It should be required viewing for anyone over 50.
I get so much push back on my videos from people who haven’t watched them, just sat through till they find a trigger phrase. I just think ‘I’m happy in my head. How about you?’
"I've accumulated peace." 😊 You can't say it any better than that. It's really a lifestyle of appreciation and gratitude, isn't it? Your introductory comments had me laughing out loud. 😂
@@primalengland 😂 I made the mistake several years ago of telling my son, "If you can't think of a gift for me on an occasion, just get me a jar candle." I now have tons of them and keep donating and re-gifting them, but still quite a few. If you ever change your mind about them, I'll send you a few - no sandalwood lol, but many in the "Autumn Spice" genre. 😂
It was so nice to meet you, too, Tracey. I just uploaded the video I shot today. I linked your channel, so hopefully you might get a visit off some really nice people. Hope to bump into you again soon. 😊
Watched the video about "Not Complaining". You mentioned your mum is 96 but also that she worked in a hospital so I'm going to guess that she wouldn't be much of a worrier. I know of two people, my mum's new partner who is in his 80s and my Uncles wife, who worked in hospitals and they never worry about anything. Maybe I'm wrong 😊
I moved out of a major city to a cottage in very small, rural location (67 residents). Nearest town is 11 miles away. I also work part time and live a frugal life. I spent a few hours today out in the sticks, walking miles with my dog enjoying a beautiful evening and watching Red Kites hovering over head. I drive a Transit Van, dont wear flash clothes, dont waste money on tat, have no need of a TV and its brain rotting propaganda.
Sounds idyllic. I haven’t had a tv for years. I go to my mum’s once a week, and she always asks have I watched such and such. I always tell her I haven’t got a tv. When she thumbs through the channel, I understand why I haven’t got one.
Love this and new to your content - I live in Bolton and I wondered where your accent was from and trying to recognise your walk - looks lovely. Agree with every word you say ❤
I’m actually from Leigh, but now live in Horwich. My mum is from Bolton and lives there now, up Tottington Road. We’re just off there now for our weekly visit. She hates my accent and calls it lazy. She’s 96, so I let her say whatever she wants. Our walks are usually around Rivington or Anglezarke. We used to record from all over the place, but Molly is 14 now, and is happy with her familiar places.
Well done Nigel, you really put it across so well. We are totally conditioned and therefore controlled unless we decide otherwise.😊 It is our choice, we have the power.
I found the right partner. We both traveled rough as youth. We both understand how beautiful the small simple things are. Hot water is a blessing. Kill your tv and ween off the infernal black mirror you have in your and my hand. We were blessed to be able to buy a couple of lots next to our house for gardens. We spend all our free time there. No electronics no other noise besides nature and grain silis and mowers and weed eaters and ac running lol. I continually attempt to get rid of the excess, its my addiction to stuff that makes me have to get rid of stuff , lol. Just be happy with what you have. Make you needs your wants and life will move easier, imo. You need shelter, warmth, food, water and clothing. The rest is extras that we should be glad to have. Good luck. Thank you for the video and reminder
One way I've made progress to slow down life is to turn off all the notifications on my mobile phone. The only time it makes a sound or vibrates is if I am receiving a phone call. It has taken some time to get used to it, but it has been a huge relief to not be constantly looking at my phone because of a beep or boop.
I’m with you there. I think they keep adding new ones to annoy us. Why do people who create new technology think we all desire extra beeps and boops in our lives?
I live in Lancaster Pennsylvania USA. The landscape where you walk is so beautiful. The trouble with finding a similar place to walk for a 72 year old female with a few knee issues that slows me down is safety and most people are more interested in a brisk walk . It is very difficult to find like minded people to just take a stroll through the woodland paths without having a “fitness” goal instead of enjoying nature at a slower pace. Wish I lived there and could join you on the slower paced life. We do have “hiking clubs “ but I find them too strenuous and not really nature oriented as much as fitness.
I know what you mean. I often see people using the countryside as a gym, and think they are missing something much. Mind you, my brisk, striding out days are behind me, now.
Digging your thoughts here bro or should I say resonating? Yeah, resonate because they are familiar thoughts. I'm off out the door now heading for town (I live in Hereford with 75,000 other people) and it can get busy. So, always seeking not to panic I chose different routes on my bike usually with a beauty spot along the way. We have to appreciate the small things and the journey. In fact, set your mind up I say - you said soak it up. Well, a new sub on account of the pos thoughts. All the best out there. Mark
Thank you so much. I do the same thing. I have familiar routes, but try to choose a route that takes me a bit of countryside. Towns and cities do my head in.
@@primalengland A real pleasure. Yeah, I often say, 'the longest route can be the shortest.' The most enjoyable! Good to hear about your route preferences. Cities? They have their zen spaces.
Fabulous following you and Molly on a walk and talk with a gothic back drop, i love mist! We have been to a local beach to feed some wild roosters and birds, its so peaceful to watch them pecking about, very meditative, cant buy that at the shops! Love to you and Molly ❤
I went for a walk along a lovely Bay trail on Saturday, with birds flying around, and a hauntingly beautiful sky. My mind was devoid of distracting thoughts, free of rumination and I felt at peace. I want be like that more. I avoid stress, which means some sacrifices, but its works for me. Tx for a great chat..
Same age as you. when i stopped work after 42 years it was such a shock i sat still for about 3 months adjusting. i walk in counytryside now and love it. haven't gone 'full hippy' yet . 😂
Im recently retired and definitely living a slower pace. I do live in the shit hole of SoCal but I avoid the common masses and cultural decline best I can. Good day sir.
"Primal England quotes for slow living, mindfulness and meditations" If you ever wrote a book, it would be an honour to read. Thank you. I have a couple of novels under my belt, but the deeper I get into this channel, the more I feel I need to document it all in print. You may have just prompted me to get off my arse and write. 😁❤️
Course you need money. No one says you don’t, but do you need lots? I have a state pension and a tiny private pension. I rent, so 75% of my income goes on rent. I seem to be able to eat well and run a small car. I just don’t take expensive holidays, or buy tech I don’t need (I love tech, so that’s difficult). I just don’t have any debt. I find that living simply helps keep the stress of just being here at bay. I’d love a bit more money, so that I’m ok if my car explodes, or the fridge dies, but my car hasn’t exploded and my fridge is still alive, so I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. I’m just at peace and happy, and I think other people could be, too. It’s just a way of life I adopted at 17 when I went to live and work in the forestry. It was slow and peaceful, and just seemed to rub off on me. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve had an extremely turbulent life, full of bad decisions, but it never really got me down.
Y know what ….I think you’re just talking about “living.” Most everyone is rushing around, they’re speed living. you’re just advocating a return to normalcy or pre smart device daily average…moderation , common sense, simple pleasures. Sounds great:)
Absolutely!!! You got it! But because of the seduction of today’s marketing, and the seduction of the need to be ‘part of the herd,’ It seems difficult to……. When it really isn’t.
I loved Pogle’s Wood. I think I was about 10 when it came on. It was written and narrated by Oliver Postgate who also wrote and narrated the epic ‘Noggin the Nog.’
Yes you do. I’m lucky to live in a little Lancashire former industrial town. 5 minute walk and I’m on the moors, and can walk all the way to Yorkshire. Not that I’d want to.

Thank you Anita. I so look forward to seeing your comments. ❤️
@@primalengland thank you, I'm always looking forward to your videos 😊
Your numbers are rising…..no surprise. You are reaching more and more people with your simple truths. Thanks for another great video. ✌️🤟
Thank you. Yes they are, slowly, but I see other creators with many more subs but no interaction. I’m just happy we have great little community who interact with me and each other…. It’s great! 😊
Awe your dogs name is Molly and that is my name. I love your message and just subbed to watch more of your videos.
This vlog was so good, Nigel! Thank you and love to you and sweet Molly❤
Beautifully said. Your walk reminds me of beautiful walks here in the Mendip Hills. Complete and utter peace and quiet. Just the sounds of the earth beneath you & the sounds of nature. Bliss.
That’s just about all we need. I’m typing this, sitting in the sun on the side of a hill, with not another human in sight. 😊
@@primalengland great way to spend a sunny late September Thursday afternoon. Enjoy it in good health. 🙂
Cheers Nigel! From the pacific northwest! Our weather is similar to yours. Love your videos!
Bravo Nigel, beautifully said.✌💛
Thank you, Paul. 😊
Dont go food shopping on a sat afternoon cos its mental out there . Do home delivery its worth 3 quid
I wouldn’t go at weekend. It’s madness. One good thing about being an old wreck. You can go shopping whenever you like.
Even cheaper on a midweek flexi Tesco delivery ❤
I bet the HD person is stressed.
Love this Nigel!… say it as it is! ….Peace & Love to you too
Thank you. 😁👍
Thank you Nigel for sharing your stories 😊 you are a great story teller! I particularly like how practical your advice is. I love quiet mornings, and am perusing a quieter, less consumer-based life as well.
I’m sure you won’t regret it. It soon becomes just a natural way of life. 👍
Peace and love and gratitude to you, sweet friend!
Thank you, Cynthia. I always look forward to seeing that striped top, and cool hat. Social media still has a few good points. ❤️

Thanks for always sharing your thoughts. I always learn and appreciate your insights. Keep up with the good job 👍.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, and for subscribing. We both appreciate it greatly. Have a great day.
People saying, " I need to spend money", are either accidentally or deliberately missing the point. Well explained as always.
I get so much push back on my videos from people who haven’t watched them, just sat through till they find a trigger phrase. I just think ‘I’m happy in my head. How about you?’
Nigel, there might be zombies in the mist? Waiting for a nibble!😮😂😅😊
Molly would see them off. She’s terrifying. 😊🐶
"I've accumulated peace." 😊 You can't say it any better than that. It's really a lifestyle of appreciation and gratitude, isn't it? Your introductory comments had me laughing out loud. 😂
Ha! I just I don’t get the ‘cinnamon bun’ community assaulting me with fragrant candles. 😊
Thank you again Nigel. This video is a blessing. ❤
Thank you, Jennifer. ❤️
A Zillion 'mistakes' and a Zillion more to go! Often doing BOTH at the same time. Thanks for the reminder to take a walk in between.
Aww, was so lovely to see you and Molly today!! Love the channel 😊 keep up the good work!
I don’t think my mum is a worrier, but she certainly projects her feelings on everyone around her. She can be ……. Outspoken.
I live in a cabin in the woods 22 miles away from the nearest town. I don’t even have a radio. Today I climbed up a tree.
I live in a cabin 22 miles from the nearest village. Today a climbed a tree.
Wow, you are spot on.
That’s a first. 😊
Slow living is as much of a state of mind and perception, as it is a seperation from materialism.
It is ; you have to ready for it, but when you arrive, I think its a gift.
Beautiful Message!! Thank you! ❤
Thank you so much. ❤️
A simple philosophy for a peaceful life. Excellent video.
Thank you so much.
bless you, nigel. you're on the perfect wavelength. peace to you.
Thank you. 😊❤️
Well done Nigel, you really put it across so well. We are totally conditioned and therefore controlled unless we decide otherwise.😊 It is our choice, we have the power.
We do! But we, as a species are timid. It takes guts to go against the narrative. 👍😊
@primalengland It definitely does, and isn't it so easy to be pulled in the wrong direction.
Thank you. Have a great life.
Slow life is good - it’s getting busy again which is the problem 😂
I’ve no intentions of getting busy. Busy is overrated. 😊
To live is to accumulate - that's what the mainstream would like us to believe. Amassing more leads to even more to satisfy. It need not be that way.
Thank you, and love from us two….too. 😊❤️
Your in touch with Nature jolly good show that's Rare these days 😁🕵️♂️
Thank you. It keeps me sane ……. Relatively speaking. 😊
Thank you. Stress saw my dad off. It isn’t going to get me. 😊
The idea is to use technology and don't let it use you.
Best of your talks
Love it 😊
Thanks James. 👍

😂 I’m afraid I’ve always been a bit ‘full hippy.’ I embraced flower power, and it embraced me back. 😊
Im recently retired and definitely living a slower pace. I do live in the shit hole of SoCal but I avoid the common masses and cultural decline best I can. Good day sir.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. 😁
Time to simplify and reduce complexity.. Turn off the computer, Cancel the social media accounts, focus on those you kove.
Makes perfect sense. 😊
Yet, how to do it without lots of money to support yourself? I need working right?
Thank you 🇦🇺💖
❤️
Walking has always been my time to just...be. we used to be hunter gatherers so walking must be in our genetics
That’s true. Standing in a landscape is different from walking through it. Walking feels like having a purpose, even when you don’t.
I wish I could do what you do
What's your cute doggy's name?
That would be Molly. She’s 14 and a little old lady, but everyone seems to love her.
Y know what ….I think you’re just talking about “living.”
Most everyone is rushing around, they’re speed living.
you’re just advocating a return to normalcy or pre smart device daily average…moderation , common sense, simple pleasures.
Sounds great:)
Absolutely!!! You got it! But because of the seduction of today’s marketing, and the seduction of the need to be ‘part of the herd,’ It seems difficult to……. When it really isn’t.
@@primalengland The challenge of our time!
@@mjhickson4339 it’s only fun if it’s a challenge. 😉
I don't, i still live in Pogals Wood, in my head.
I loved Pogle’s Wood. I think I was about 10 when it came on. It was written and narrated by Oliver Postgate who also wrote and narrated the epic ‘Noggin the Nog.’
I want “peaceful pastie” on a T-shirt… but then that’s just unnecessary consumerism.
We could always print them as a collective, and spend the ‘profits’ on alcohol. I’m sure there’s a loophole…. Keir found one.

Need plentey of money to live in the country.
Yes you do. I’m lucky to live in a little Lancashire former industrial town. 5 minute walk and I’m on the moors, and can walk all the way to Yorkshire. Not that I’d want to.
