    Here's a fun fact: someone analyzed the number of ingredients in McDonald's fries in Poland (and the EU) versus the US. The results are startling: in Poland, there are only 3 ingredients, while in the US, there are 23. This serves as a concerning example of what happens when profit is prioritized over people's health.

    this church and the shopping hall 15:39 are older than 1492, i.e. older than the discovery of America by Columba, older than anything built by Europeans in the Americas, and we have hundreds of such objects in Poland. Old castles, churches, huge Gothic cathedrals, baroque parish churches, old markets with town halls and tenement houses hundreds of years old, small towns surrounded by medieval defensive walls. In addition, there are thousands of forts and bunkers built by Prussia, Russia, Austria-Hungary, and later the Third Reich and the Soviets. None of the countries that had conflicts with Poland no longer exist. The Russian Empire does not exist, Prussia does not exist, the Third Reich does not exist, the USSR does not exist, Czechoslovakia does not exist, Austria-Hungary does not exist. Hitler failed, Napoleon tried too, and only Poles and Mongols conquered and ruled Moscow. A year after regaining independence after 123 years of partition, Poland stopped, defeated and completely destroyed the Red Army in its march westward. If it weren't for Poland, already in the 1930s, the French and the British would have been obliged to learn Russian as proletarians of the global country of workers' councils. Polish airmen played a key role in stopping the Nazi invasion of Britain. Churchill said that never so much was owed by so many to so few. Then he sold Poland to Stalin in Potsdam for 45 years.

    A new washing machine + dryer for 7 kg of laundry (14 lb) costs PLN 3,140 = $775 . A new washer-dryer (in one device) costs PLN 1,734 = USD 427.86 . Laundry at a public laundromat is expensive and intended for tourists or students. Everyone has a washing machine at home . In Europe, people living in cities dry their laundry in the dryer only when it rains because it is quite expensive considering the electricity consumption.

      @@wojteqj Dry every wash in the dryer regularly, for example for half a year ? Dry every wash in the dryer regularly, for example for half a year. Let's say two people live there and they do three washes and three dryings a week. One hour of drying costs PLN 3, so you spend PLN 10 per week x 50 weeks, that's PLN 500 per year. It's a lot . You can buy a washer and dryer that fits into kitchen cabinets, just like a regular washing machine, because that's how washing machines are most often placed in Polish apartments.

    re: the washing prices question - the laundry place in the video _seems_ to be priced at 17 PLN per run (that's what the sticker on the machines says). Google says it is 4.20 USD at current exchange rate.
    Dryer is 5 PLN per 10 minutes = 1.24 USD.
    However: it is very rare for most people in Poland to use a laundromat like that one. I wouldn't even know where to look for one in my home city: the standard is to have a laundry machine at home, and to air-dry your laundry (combined washing / drying machines are available on the market, but aren't popular).

    that safety that you now see in Poland, that is general in Europe as you have seen yourself in the other videos you have watched. Society is much friendlier and not aggressive like in the USA where they are more likely to shoot you before asking a question... we do our thing in Europe and do not easily interfere in other people's affairs, and if things do escalate, there is hardly any weapon involved, unless it is used illegally.
    the USA, the land of guns, chemically prepared food, obesity, trigger-happy police, ridiculous healthcare system, the carcentric policy and .......''the land of the free''...just leave me in peace stay in Europe where you can do (almost everything) what you want, 38 or 40 hour working week where you have time for your OWN private life, and where it is not just about the money your employer spends on his vacation or on expensive purchases, the stress factor is much lower and you are not, as in the USA, treated like a pig by your employer and there are laws... and there are many advantages over ''the land of the free'' which is NOT free at all

It's increasing only in certain places due to rising standards, interconnectivity and hybrid-war efforts of adversaries weaponising apparent asylum seekers. What you're doing here is scummy far-right/populist propaganda brainwash, *DESIGNED* to grab power and/or actually bring down all of EU. Every time someone claimed rising crime rates and i factchecked it, it was false and mostly opposite is true. Lies. BS.

    When you travel to Poland visit us in Czechia as well. Those 2 countries are both super friendly to each other with long historic bonds. Main difference to me seems to be religion. • @albertopiergiorgi5980
      @albertopiergiorgi5980 18 днів тому +6

      As a Pole I really can't comprehend the urban legend named "Polish religiousness". In Poland, this phenomenon only exists in rural, closed communities, perhaps like the "bible belt" in the US, and this is among the older generation, where the parish priest is an all-knowing guru and this is seen as exotic to people in the cities, where religiosity is a marginal phenomenon cultivated mainly by older people, while with younger people it remains in the form of superficial rituals such as "dispatching" children to their first communion.
      In my opinion, Poles are more secularised and atheistic than people in the western part of Europe, or for example in Denmark, where I lived for a few years and saw that their Protestant Christianity is deeper than the Catholic one in Poland - which, by the way, has never been really deep and reflective, but just wishful projection. Note that no significant theological thought has ever come out of this allegedly "pious" country.

    5 USD to get to and from work? Wow... I've been on equivalent to 15USD a day, and I drive small cars and not that far... On the other hand roadtax and insurance is like 1,20 USD a day. And I deduct the travelcost when "I do my taxes". In Sweden b.t.w. Poland is a good country, they have great food especially on the countryside where people hunt and theres a lot of venison. Add on Energylandia that's a great amusement park with some really good coasters.

    • @dannydetonator
      @dannydetonator 15 днів тому

      True, but hard to compare Scandinavian countries to US or rest of the EU. Sweden is among the most expensive countries to live in, and are on the large and stretched-out side geographically.
      Also, prices should be in context with real income (average statistics doesn't always reflect it), in which case the indexing will become more equal. There always will be things costing significantly more or less between countries, so it's hard to draw conclusions from just a few examples. More remote places will usually cost more for transportation as a rule. Poland is central and well-connected. For some reason transport and costs in general is cheaper there than ex.g. Baltic states, but depends on where you are in the country too.

      It depends on how small they are, and where are they located.
      Yes, there are tiny villages that are _communicationally excluded_, and you can't do without your own vehicle. And it is a big problem in some places, govenrment keeps talking about it (but I'm not hearing about much being done).
      In many cases, there is an inter-city bus line going through a village, so at least couple departures and arrivals a day are available. Either by full-sized buses, or privately operated minibuses, assuming there's enough traffic.
      If you are lucky, there's also a rail line.
      If the village / small town is a seat of a _gmina_ (low-level administrative district), at least a bus line is basically a given, and rail line quite likely.

      By far the biggest disadvantage of living in the Polish countryside is the need for a car. Apart from this inconvenience, rural residents usually have all the amenities of civilisation known from the cities. This is why many city dwellers dream of moving to the countryside. This is what distinguishes Poles from other nationalities living in Central and Eastern Europe, where the trend is the opposite and everyone wants to live in cities, preferably ones with more than a million inhabitants!
