Bravo Frieder Bernius und diese fantastische Cum Sancto Spiritu.
This mass nr 5 continues Shubert’s path of religious music. However, distinct from nr 6, due to the more relevant performance of the soloists, whose voices are sublime. The choir’s intervention here is sometimes more triumphalist. The music is fantastic and fascinating with an extraordinary interpretation of the soloists, choir and orchestra. Viva Shubert and his immortal music.

I am impressed greatly by this epic piece, impressed also by the soloists,orchestra,choir as well as impressed by the camera person who seems to know it very very well and points the camera at the right place at the right time ! Thank you AVRO !

The youthful voice of the tenor is quite impressive. The transparent voices of the choir are also agreeable. The mild sound of the woodwinds is worth listening. But the entire performance lacks some kind of passion indispensable for perfect rendition of this challenging masterwork.
I very much see your point about how the performance could have benefited from a stronger demonstration of passion. I do, however, like the performance very much.

And that's the wonderful thing about music: We brings our tastes, preferences and backgrounds to make decisions what we like.
