... the best first barrel... we used to practice by pulling - in... fully knifing it under the lip, and travelling as far as we could "inside" and not visible from the beach... before wearing it on the head or learning how to exit through the back of the thing... or just colliding with the ensuing foam ball... there's the pocket... and there's the tube... big difference... Maaate :)

@@alienzordfalcon5162... come from Maroubra... travelled the world surfing from Indonesia to Polynesia to Europe, Africa, South America, Morocco... the entire surfable coast of Australia - particularly the east coast, lots of Western Australia - the Abrolhos Islands, North Point ages ago - do you remember the 2km walk into Uluwatu and the rickety bamboo ladder into the cave?... paddling down to Padang on days when the swell just jacked up within a couple of sets and getting in through the cave was rendered impossible... being "shipwrecked" at Grajagan... (coming in very late just after dark with a crazy Javanese fisherman) Now 58 years of age, got my first glassed board in '75 - after spending years on "coolite's" (pre soft-top) grew up with sand between my toes, my father was a surf - lifesaver at South Bondi and Bronte, Bronze Medallion at 12 years old... we surfed "Ours" - Cape (Solander) Fear WAY back when - people thought we were absolute lunatics...before "lid's" began to figure... grew up surfing Clovelly Bombie, Wedding Cake Island...(left's in a south swell, right handers on large, North swells - very rare - Aussie Pipe & the whole NSW South Coast including Ulladulla, Mollymook /Golf course reef. Bailed Sydney in 84 to live in East Ballina...Stated sailing up there and studied Coastal Navigation so as to maximise time and enjoyment on the family owned "fleet" - NS14's, MG's and a 33 then 38ft sloop... lots of trips out to Lord Howe and back, up and down the east coast... still frothing and going hard... where were you? I watched the entire shortboard - revolution and remember when performance - surfing was an attitude exploding all over Australia... Yes, I surf :)

Bro that was a really decent barrel. It was at back door pipeline too. One of the most fast, powerful, and difficult wave out there to surf in the world. Getting barreled at Kelly Slater’s wavepool and back door are two completely different things.

That is such a barrel. The camera is angled from the front side if you’re right along perpendicular to the wave and Jackson he’s super gone. But even with the angle he’s behind a curtain and a half. Definite barrel.

Well, she is the girl of "one of" the best to have ever surfed Pipe AND to have probably logged more shade time in the barrel at Pipe than anyone. Think that justifies as her knowing what a true barrel is more than most and to impress her with a barrel is almost impossible now outside of her man...lol.. Her standards are far greater than what would have been maybe a 2.9 on the WSL - however, we still give it to Jackson...
