My brother saw Obituary, Trivium and a couple other bands a while ago. Before he went I asked him to get me an OBITUARY shirt, and he said: 'Oh, sure. I'll get you a shirt.' And when he went, he got me a shirt. Ten thousand ways to die!!! \m/
themetalhead667 Earache still has a few Carcass vinyls left! I think they're starting to catch on to the idea that there are more than 500 fans in the world and are pressing more copies now. Obituary is a lot easier to find thankfully.
themetalhead667 The only new one I got was Swanson straight from Earache... The rest of discogs, and it cost more because I specifically wanted black vinyl so it was around $35 for each except Swansong and the Steel albums.
I saw Carcass a couple summers back in Chicago. Jeff Walker and Bill Steer both walked right by me and I was way too nervous to say anything. I still kick myself for that. And I started the pit during Incarnated Solvent Abuse. One of the best shows I've been to.
The Heartwork album is what got me into Death Metal. I used to fucking hate Death Metal in preference to Black Metal. Black Metal still over Death Metal, but Carcass and Death are the shit.
Symphonies of sickness, that album cover is the original. The chopped up meat one,was the original CD cover. So the black album with the head on it is the original vinyl cover. Turn it upside down. And you'll see the head for who it is.
I have the vast majority of these albums on vinyl, as when i first purchased them, they were almost impossible to buy on CD from the shop i used to use, before it closed down. Most of the death/thrash/grind albums i have from the late 80s early 90s are on vinyl. Iv'e replaced some of them on CD, but as the guy said in this footage, the Carcass albums sound a whole lot better on vinyl.
Great to see younger people actually getting the albums and on vinyl! Great job man! I was born at 72 so I'm old fart but I really appreciate when people like you choose physical form instead of digital. I love both bands and have their entire discography but I grew up with punk so my collection which is now near 6000 lp's and cd's has more punk than any other genre. Huge fan of Nick Cave's works from Birthday Party to Bad Seeds. Cheers from Finland, Petri
When the "Surgical Steel" album came up at 6:06 i was expecting "Noncompliance to Astm F899-12 standard" to start playing. And guess what? It actually started to play!
Cause of death is the best album to listen from start to finish is like a soundtrack album and the end complete is well known at selling the most copies t shirts of all time
Yea, I remember listening to it for my first time, the transition from the slower songs to Find the Arise left me with mouth wide open. Literally. Hehe
Great albums and very good observations/reviews. I agree on everything you've said, spot on! I'll try to get all of Carcass and most of Obituary on vinyl. I'm a fan of black LP's as well, the color and picture ones are great looking but the sound is so much more important than the look, right? :)
Saw Obituary opening for Slayer during Slayer’s farewell tour. They were fucking awesome! John Tardy is such an amazing vocalist and sounds just as good as he did back in the day. Can’t wait until the next time I see Obituary.
I saw Carcass 2x met Bill Steer both times. Saw Obituary 1x and they invited my friend and I onto their tour bus. I have 3 Carcass picks and 1 Obituary pick.
Awesome I have the Pic disc of Xecutioners But it's signed by both Tardy brothers. I live in Tampa Bay area so these guys were in my Stereo via Tape when only Slowly We Rot was out. These guys made the Death MEtal scene in Florida in my mind. I know many give praise to Death for Death Metal sound but I'm solid on Obituary being kings of Death Metal. Maybe because Obituary were the 1st insane death metal band I ever heard this was back in 89-90 to me it was more evil than Scream Bloody Gore was doing only a year and half before. Got to remember if you were around Slayer and Metallica were just exiting underground scene at that time. Not Slayer as much as Metallica so this shit was absolutely ear bleeding insaneness in it's time . Actually funny I remember many friends cringing when I played this only for them to end up loving this shit. Also have pic disc of Slowly We Rot can't find cause of death on LP anymore would love to get both on standard non picture LP. Was never huge Carcass fan but appreciated Heartwork so do have that on LP.
Cool, wish I was living there back in the day, must've been magic to see the scene growing first hand! Obituary are still one of my go-to bands when I wanna expose younger ppl who think they listen to heavy shit to the real heavy shit! Even next to the more 'brootal' death metal, they sound extreme :) The best music never ages \m/
Cool! I just listened to that album today for the first time in quite a while - crushing & underated. The artwork is great - I'd love to own that shirt!
I went to see Carcass on tour with Slayer and Testament a few years back. Due to a random holdup I FREAKING MISSED CARCASS. Terrible. Then to make matters worse I saw Jeff Walker after at this upstairs bar and said hello- the friend I was with asked me to take a pic of them together and I did, without thinking I probably should have asked for one myself. So all I got from the experience of finally going to see my first favorite extreme metal band is a picture of this kid and Jeff lol.....I was kinda irritated with myself for having no brain. (Yeah, Slayer and Testament are cool, I get it, but I wouldn't have otherwise chosen to see Slayer at this particular venue- indoors, lots of seats/barriers/different floor levels, absolutely no moshing and you can even get kicked out for dancing too exuberantly lol).
Obituary was the forst band i saw live, and that was when i was first getting into metal when i was almost 14, i got my picture taken with terry, and trevor at that show, it was at a small bar called brass mug in Tampa, FL, it is my 2nd favorite band ive seen live, my number 1 is immolation
I want to see these guys live. I was lucky enough to find an original version of symphonies of sickness with the original art(as far as I'm aware) and I've slightly grown to liking later Carcass and Obituary albums but I still prefer the early stuff. Slowly we rot was so dirty and grimey imo.
lockjaw was the obituary song that got me into them. like i knew who they were but assumed i wouldn't like em but then that song came on on one of those spotify automated daily mix playlists and i was like what??? i actually like this? SO obituauary was my first Oldschool/ True Death metal( by true i mean no sub subgenres) band i liked and still one of my all time favourites.
Saw obituary dust bolt and skeletonwitch met 2 member's of skeletonwitch and bassist of dust bolt got pictures and one of obituary threw up the horns at me after i threw them up at him first and best death metal show
I personally think adding that gory imagery onto an album cover isn't the best idea, it honestly disgusts me. Carcass is really cool but I feel weak Everytime I see the artwork of their debut.
Job done then - thumbs up Carcass! To me it's far more intelligent & 'artful' than the graphic artwork of other gore bands because it's real... & darkly humourous too
I saw Obituary open for Cannibal Corpse and got a drumstick from Donald Tardy. My first and best death metal concert
I'm seeing Obituary live soon, and I'm SO excited. They're playing with Kreator.
Javier Alvarez I'm seeing them with Exodus
Jt England seeing obituary with slayer
@@bridges4232 lucky I'm seeing slayer with lamb of god, amon amarth and cannibal corpse though
My brother saw Obituary, Trivium and a couple other bands a while ago. Before he went I asked him to get me an OBITUARY shirt, and he said: 'Oh, sure. I'll get you a shirt.' And when he went, he got me a shirt. Ten thousand ways to die!!! \m/
Awesome artwork! I'd love to get my hands on that shirt \m/
Could you do something like this with Cannibal Corpse pls \m/
I would love that:)
I'm seeing them tonight actually
I love Swansong.
Perfect mix of radio sensibilities while still being ballsy and heavy.
I absolutely wish I had those on Vinyl
themetalhead667 Earache still has a few Carcass vinyls left! I think they're starting to catch on to the idea that there are more than 500 fans in the world and are pressing more copies now. Obituary is a lot easier to find thankfully.
Killbot&GorGorAttack!! did you get them when they were new? I looked on Amazon and Reek of Putrefaction was $34 at cheapest.
themetalhead667 The only new one I got was Swanson straight from Earache... The rest of discogs, and it cost more because I specifically wanted black vinyl so it was around $35 for each except Swansong and the Steel albums.
so jealous of your carcass collection!
I saw Carcass a couple summers back in Chicago. Jeff Walker and Bill Steer both walked right by me and I was way too nervous to say anything. I still kick myself for that. And I started the pit during Incarnated Solvent Abuse. One of the best shows I've been to.

necroticism is one of my favourite albums ever, plus im seeing obituary in november live and i cannot wait. itll be my first ever death metal show \m/
Symphonies of sickness, that album cover is the original. The chopped up meat one,was the original CD cover. So the black album with the head on it is the original vinyl cover. Turn it upside down. And you'll see the head for who it is.
I saw carcaas a month ago and I took a picture with Jeff and he singed my t-shirt , holy fuck dude , I still can't believe.!
I have the vast majority of these albums on vinyl, as when i first purchased them, they were almost impossible to buy on CD from the shop i used to use, before it closed down. The same thing happened to me at a show with Mastodon! My idol is now Troy sanders.

Do you not have back from the dead?
They never pressed it on vinyl, damn you Roadrunner!
You’ve gotten me into so many bands like Ghoul and Iron Reagan, thank you so much.
cant wait for the new album! already preordered it
Cause of death is the best album to listen from start to finish is like a soundtrack album and the end complete is well known at selling the most copies t shirts of all time

What’s your favourite obituary album mine is cause of death

Grand Theft Auto III/The Price Is Right font at the end there. Nice touch.

I have the Darkest Day shirt. often wear it on stage and I even wear it in my bands latest band photo. really fond of that shirt
Cool! I just listened to that album today for the first time in quite a while - crushing & underated. The artwork is great - I'd love to own that shirt!
So I Owned 2 Obituary Vinyls

I went to see Carcass on tour with Slayer and Testament a few years back. Due to a random holdup I FREAKING MISSED CARCASS.

What are your feelings on Back from the Dead?
Great Videos by the way, mate! Hail from Florida!
Obituary on autopilot

I'm curious as to what your favorite album from Obituary is now that Dying of everything is out
Still Cause
Underground metal❤❤
How do you play a vinyl album?
With a Numark TTX, behringer Truth monitors/speakers, a good needle, and a relaxed mind! :)
I WANT ALL THE CARCASS ONES D:
I have both carcass’ heartwork
And obituary’s slowly we rot
I have swansong blue vinyl it's sounds great your right way better then the cd version
9:59
Haa
Swansong is my favorite carcass album
lockjaw was the obituary song that got me into them. like i knew who they were but assumed i wouldn't like em but then that song came on on one of those spotify automated daily mix playlists and i was like what??? i actually like this? SO obituauary was my first Oldschool/ True Death metal( by true i mean no sub subgenres) band i liked and still one of my all time favourites.
I have the FDR reissue of Heartwork on Vinyl, and to me it sounds a wee bit slower then the CD. Maybe it's just me.
And what is your favorite album of favorite of Obituary? My favorite album of Obituary is Cause of Death.
🤘🏻
Obituary was The FIRST band i ever Saw, sadly i didn`t like death metal back THEN
Carcass are'nt from Liverpool. They are from a place called the Wirral
+Rory O'connor Oh ok. I just took that off of Wikipedia's page. I guess it's still inaccurate in cases like these.
More or less the same thing. I'm Liverpudlian and I'd consider the two places the same.
@@misanthropic.satanist9504100% wrong you must be a wool
Best fuckin combo!
Obituary rule
Saw obituary dust bolt and skeletonwitch met 2 member's of skeletonwitch and bassist of dust bolt got pictures and one of obituary threw up the horns at me after i threw them up at him first and best death metal show
I always read as cargass
:)
I never really liked Slowly We Rot, and I like The End Complete more than Cause of Death
where is wake up and smell the carcass?
I don't think he can show that on video. It's fucked up.
@@da_schnitzel how is that fucked up its only Kennedy's autopsy have you seen reek of purification
this album wasnt meant to be played loud?
I personally think adding that gory imagery onto an album cover isn't the best idea, it honestly disgusts me. Carcass is really cool but I feel weak Everytime I see the artwork of their debut.

I think it's the best thing about that album
Then they succeded
