My KSP dream: Having a mission control team
Using Telemachus mod to publish ships info on a Chrome tab,
A good orbital mechanics officer, a ship design officer (the ship i will fly won't be designed by me), and so on.
And the ship should be two kerballed.
Communications through Skype or smth with some noise and radio protocol.
    It would be awesome...
Change positions with mission control next turn.

I bound "control from here" to an action group to that port, meaning that when I switched the Val's pod the ship wouldn't flip out like crazy when retrograde and prograde switch. Maybe it's kinda cheating but the only reason was to make the video more visually interesting from a video-making perspective, as 2 pods is completely unnecessary

Matt, I know I'm late, but as the Reddit challenge currently is something similar, how do you change between the prograde and retrograde facing control pods(The 2 mk1 inline pods)

When I saw the kernel engineer button, I thought that maybe I could do the challenge. But without Kerala engineer? Definitely not! Great vid!

Mun landing can be done just from the panel in the cockpit. You can do it even windowless. You just need to have a calculator and know kerbins and muns orbital informations + high school physics. For example if the Mun is X meters higher than your orbit you just put it on potential energy equation which is height difference times mass, then you know how much kinetic energy you have to add to get there. You can find how much speed you have to add to get that energy by putting it into the kinetic energy equation and so on. It is kindo hard but not impossible. You can also calculate your ships deltaV, so you can calculate how much dV left. Back in times there were no maneuver nodes, no Kerbal Engineering Redux and people were landing not only to the Mun but also to other planets.

+Bahadır Onur Güdürü and the reason Matt burned his engines when the moon was approximately ten degrees over horizon was to get captured on his first pass over his new apoapsis. If he did it via different timing it could have taken weeks (in game time) to get captured.

I would have hoped for some more commentary on the return trip... I am the kind of guy who does crazy stuff like this (games are too easy!) and could use some pointers.

well done and thank you! I loved this video. I think it could've been more fun not to F3, instead wait until you've landed to see what's left of the craft. I also like the idea of the Eve series, but like you said I' think it'd be good to keep away from the horror stuff

I don't think you needed to make the orbit circular; the TMI burn has a lot of margin of error in velocity.
