Well, that's at last a Fiordiligi who has everything: stamina, musicality, strong low chest notes, easy and radiant top notes, even passaggio, flawless coloratura. Also, I find the timbre stunninly beautiful, and she knows what she's singing.

I'M IN SHOCK!!! FINALLY!!! I WAS READY TO SETTLE WITH THE SUPERSTAR SOPRANOS I HAD HEARD SING IT UP TO THIS POINT ie; Renee Fleming, Barbara Frittoli, Joan Sutherland, Carol Vaness, and a few others...however in my head I KNEW THAT "THIS" is EXACTLY HOW IT SHOULD'VE SOUNDED! AMAZING! Next to her, Barbara Fritt. ;-)

So, I came across this filmed performance on tv when I was a teenager (probably 2003ish), this modernistic stage setting was my very first viewing of Cosi fan Tutte. Still fell in love with the opera.
At last a Fiordiligi both capable of and not afraid of both the highest notes and lowest notes in this extraordinary killer aria. Mozart either hated sopranos or had the best singers of all time at his disposable to write some of his soprano roles.
@@yeetmeinapoole6665, not to fuck with but to screw up Adriana Ferrarese, the singer who was due to debut the role of Fiordiligi. Mozart didn't like her. It happened that she used to low her head over her neck when singing low notes and bend it back when high ones, so he wrote this aria with high and low notes in succesion so that she looked like a chicken.

No odiaba a las sopranos, odiaba a la soprano que le impuso Daponte en esta opera por ser su amante y Mozart le regalo esta aria con todo su cariño.

I think that Roschmann's singing is one of the most exciting ones if her generation. She should develop further her chest voice and make a more systematic use of it.

She's magnificent. The production (like most other productions now days) is horrible.
Meh, they are slowly drifting back towards realism and at least quasi period costumes now a days.
