Most grouper I ever shot on one dive was in 1985 35miles out in gulf in 55ft of water.17 total fish weighting between 18 and 23 lbs.July 5th .No wreck just a low patch reef. When we left the bottom the 4 of us had 66 fish total.
I’ve heard stories of the good old days. I was born in 1985, but my mentor was diving back then and told me the same. My best dive on gags was nine but I had to dig them out. I’m sure I could’ve gotten a few more but it was cold and I was ready to head to the top. I’ve done a couple 20 fish stringers on Snapper out in 90 feet.
The way this year’s looking I’d be lucky to even shoot a gag. I’ll have to wait for recreational season to open to get one or two. We can’t find quota and what we do find is outrageously priced where you can’t make much profit on them and better off shooting a small Snapper instead of a 20 pound gag.
That is a pile of fish!!! I think the crew wants an extra handle on the stringers to help haul them in!! 😝 I think you may have had too much help onboard....heheheh
Jason I notice you dive with the shark shield. I have one but never wear it. How effective do you find it? Great video I could fell your frustration through the screen....
I’m not sure if mine is working anymore but when it did I’ve seen it turn sharks. It doesn’t hurt to have it if you need it. I only turned it on on wrecks and sharky areas or bad vis.
@@jasonbihari Good to know....the only time I put mine on was when we had at Great White swimming around the boat on Ed's Lobster Wreck.....I keep it on the boat just in case I have a big boy show up and I need to go clear the anchor or something like that...
Yeah I kept mine in the boat to and it was there when I had a big Mako show up coming up from 160 foot. So now I have it on me all the time and just turn it on as needed.
Man y’all cleaned that spot up didn’t ya. I seen all the kids in the boat when you came up. I think it would have been a lot more fun for themtocatcthsome of those fish of a lifetime man. The would have reserved this fishing spot for a lifetime man. If they wouldn’t bite then you could have went down and made them bite. Just a thought guys. Can you imagine those kids hooking up with just one of those big grouper?
Do you want me to send you pictures of all the trophy fish they caught that day. It was getting towards the end of the day and we let them fish all morning.
I don’t have much respect for anyone that tells people their way is the only way. It’s cool to think it but to tell a perfect stranger from another part of the world is something different. Enjoy how you do it and let me enjoy how I want to.
We leave plenty and have plenty of spots for them to live. This is a known spot we had that we’ve hit plenty of times before and it’s doing just fine. Shame on you for jumping to conclusions.
One spot is not a reef. The fish move so much after storms and fronts we know when they will fill back in. I only have 5-20 minutes depending on depth before I have to surface to off gas nitrogen. The fish catch on and hide before you can get them all anyway. Yeah maybe we get all the red grouper on one spot but those are on every little spot in the Gulf. You obviously don’t know anything about scuba if you think we just strap a tank on and kill everything down there. Yes this one spot we got a bunch of red grouper but you typically don’t get any red grouper on a wreck so this was odd and they were only there because of a hurricane.
Show amigo Muito bom parabéns muito peixe
Nice haul! It looked like a shooting gallery down there!
Man this place was loaded last year when we hit it. We were expecting big mangroves and may be a cobia. All those red grouper were a surprise.
Want a chip ? Nice to see the little ones out there enjoying what we love 👍
That’s what it’s all about. They had a blast catching really nice scamps and red grouper along with a ton of red snapper
Honestly they all really enjoyed catching bait on Sabiki‘s that morning

Ee vediamo qualcosa di eccezionale complimenti per tutto
Wow great job awesome 👍
Great shot placement, great dive, great fish
Thank you

Oh they definitely help the cause on rod and reel earlier that day.
Excellent 👌

Bravo the groupers just for the taking easy catch👍
Lot of targets on that one. Thought you were going to miss the SS but guess not.
Had a shark come up to me earlier that day but was in and out. Right now they are on the bigger wrecks mostly.
Great job Jason and awesome to get the kids hooked on catching fish and having a great day on the water.
Any time they want to go and don’t have school. We are going to try for some ducks this weekend.
Boa noite boa pesca gostaria de saber que arbalete é essa com duas setas onde encontro dessa arbalete
I made it
One of your best videos!!! Very clear and focused. Wondering how deep was your dive and what kind of wreck?
I think this one was 110 foot and it’s an old broken down shrimp boat.
Pesca sub com respiração artificial??? No seu país é permitido??
Yeah we’re aloud to do it here

Believe me no kid goes without when they are riding with me.
Nice haul
We had some good stringers on that spot last year.
What’s kinda gun you got, it’s sick
Appreciate it. I built this gun a while back
❤❤❤❤
Não é nada esportivo caçar com garrafa.
Aqui no Brasil é proibido e nós caçadores achamos uma covardia.
Caça só em apnéia.

Shame n you to use tanks
really agree not sportsmanlike at all
@@squarecracker You freedive spear 100+ feet regularly? Doubt it. Also, he's doing it commercially; not for sport.
It doesn’t matter commercial or recreational shouldn’t have guys like this talking down on you anyway.
@@jasonbihariit does matter lol you go down there and clean out a whole reef strapping tanks on yourself. it's lame af. like fishing with dynamite
