No other TV show has ever been like this...it is one of a kind, and very hilarious. The writers were way ahead of their time. I am glad I watched every episode of this when new. I was 6 when it premiered. The Green Acres reunion movie is funny, too. I am amazed that shack never caught on fire. Peter Greeter the meter reader and Lawler the installer...hilarious!!
Totally agree, however its Peter Greeder not Greeter. Amazingly I distinctly remember this from when I first saw this episode in the late 1960's. This is one of these best episodes, though others with especially Arnold the Pig, were classics and let’s not forget Mr Haney, one of the most exasperating shysters to ever to grace a TV screen !
This is my favorite episode of the entire series. I like how, at the end, the narrator explains what actually caused the New York blackout of 1966 (or whenever it was).
The mid 60s was a time of fantasy comedy tv. Greenacres was at the top of the heap, but it fell victim to what then tv execs called " the rural purge". They cancelled every show related to country living.
Still one of the funniest shows on television, even after 50+ years!
