Thanks for watching! This was a 12v car blanket I got on Amazon, don’t have a link. I now use a electric throw blanket from Costco. It’s a little larger and turns off after about 4 hours . I usually pre heat the bed and turn it off when I get in. Hope this helps, Happy Camping 🏕️
You have a great set up, Steve! Very nicely designed floor plans and site plan. I have the same two heaters! Plus two little 250 watt Soliel heaters. I'm planning on getting one more Honeywell Bud (250 watts on high and 170 watts on low, right?). I'm usually hooked up to shore power, so I point the little heaters at the corners and overcome condensation that way. I use the big one in the daytime. And I have a Napier SUV tent (10x10x7'high) with a side room with screen windows that can zip shut for privacy. That's where I do dishes and anything that involves water. I put a poly patio mat down and have camped in areas where it's ok for the rinse water to drip through onto the ground as long as it's virtually clean. I can dump the dish water either into a sewer hookup or a fire pit. (I don't boondock much.) Yup, the Napier is superb. I did have rodents chew a little hole in my tent and bring in pinecones to stash for winter, lol. But from their entrance hole, the tent ripped very quickly (not lol). Lining the inside with mylar kept the tent quite warm in a snowstorm, with a ceramic heater (shore power, again). Thank you for your informative and inspiring posts. I like that they are short, too!!! Keep on keeping on. Happy travels and happy camping!
Betty Jean , thanks for the wonderful comments, we really do have the same set up. Your tips about Mylar and rinse water I might have to try. Sorry it took so long to reply, I came down with Covid but I’m back and ready for another Shoe Box Adventure! Take care and be safe.
Howdy, love your set up, thanks for the info on the heaters and generator. What is the name of the tent you are using on the back of your camper? I bought my Range Runner with the rear door so I could attach a tent just like you did.
Diego, thanks for watching! That is the Napier Backroadz Tent. Napier makes several different models and they have been on sale as recently as yesterday so check them out. Good luck and Happy Camping!
We subbed.... how did your setup do in them gale force winds we got at the Q this past Dec Jan .. we hated them . Most days were ok but the winds 2 times a week were too much and we were in a 35 foot rv ?
Harry, this tent holds up great in the wind but because of the slope of the runway roof, water runs down so i put a bath towel up there to catch the water. Gotta think of a better solution. When it’s not pouring rain I love this tent!
I also have a Cool Camp, as well as an electric blanket and mini heater. I haven't used the blanket or heater yet though because I'm wondering about how they will effect condensation. What have your experiences been with that? Also, I have the Walmart shower tent that sets up like a traditional tent with the poles and love it. Very easy to put up and take down.
Laura, thanks for your question, I always camp with the Napier tent attached and leave my back door open so no condensation.when I finely camp without it I will leave the windows cracked open and hope that does the trick. Thanks for the tip on the shower tent.
Harry, I use the electric blanket to pre heat my bed, then turn it off. Don’t like to get into a cold bed! And yes the Goose Down Comforter keeps me Super-Warm.
I clicked on a whim, liked what I saw and subscribed. :) Enjoy your stay at Quartzite. One day I'll make it there.

Spent last winter in Q. 50+ mph winds. Just FYI.

Good info.
Just found your channel, You should post your next video on the runaway channels! It will help getting your channel out there. Nice video
Jesse S : where are/is the runaway channel? How do I find it?
I think Jessy is talking about Facebook. Runaway Camper Owners, Runaway Campers World and many other groups. Check them out!
@@myshoeboxadventures Ah, ok , thank you. 😀
Just looked at Napier tents. I think that's a great idea to marry that idea to the back of a Runaway. How well does it hold up in bad weather?

hey fellow Runawayer... enjoyed your video! I'm a subscriber now!
Thanks Tom!
Me, too, exactly.

@@myshoeboxadventures Great idea! I crack the windows when I sleep and it's been humid by morning, but nothing too bad yet.
Please do the solar stove video.
Very Nice

Spent my first year of retirement in quartzite for 1 mth great memories
Hey there buddy, I do LIVE on SAT nights at 7:30pm PST (8:30pm AZ time) Love to shout you out!
Thank you G! Just starting out and don’t know what I’m doing but I’m having fun and could use the help.
Would you mind telling me which Napier tent that is. Thanks.
Thanks for watching, that is the Napier Backroadz SUV tent.
@@myshoeboxadventures Nice. I was looking at it and thinking it might work off the back of my SUV.

@@JonTanOsb that is the Napier Backroadz SUV Tent. It’s made for your car!
Was there with steve
I don't think electric blankets are good for you. Where you are, in a box blocking the wind and a comforter, you should be super-warm.
Harry, I use the electric blanket to pre heat my bed, then turn it off. Don’t like to get into a cold bed! And yes the Goose Down Comforter keeps me Super-Warm.
@@myshoeboxadventures That's how I'd use an electric blanket, too. We're on the same page.
