I love how Spring feels extremely energetic (everything and everyone is "waking up" and busy after the winter), Summer feels really cheerful, happy but also kind of slow (because of the heat), Fall feels energetic again, but has a very different, more urgent feel to it (because a lot of things need to be done before the winter) and Winter, well, it feels very cheerful and "christmassy", but still cold at the same time and not as over the top as Freezeezy Peak.
That’s because winter in CCW is more designed to reflect post-holiday loneliness since the best part of winter is over and everything is so desolate until the livelihood of spring is here and we are finally glad that holiday season over because the new year is in full swing.
I actually prefer this over the spring version because it makes me remember what a good time summer was when you were a child. No school, no work, no worries...Especially the recorder part at 0:52 makes me so damn happy I could cry. Reminds me of swimming, hiking and other summer-stuff...And the quiet trombone part at the end reminds me soooo much of august when I was sad cos I knew: Damn, freakin' school is comming! And remember how you always looked forward to summer? ...Hah....Good Times...
I just love how each theme sorta represents how you are feeling like spring sounds like someone is very happy summer sounds like someone is chilling out autumn feels like someone is natural they aren't feeling happy or sad and winter makes you want to go outside and play in the snow
This variation of CCW theme is in a Waltz. Characterized by the 3/4 time signature and even crotchet 3 beats in the base. Kirkhope must have learned about Waltzes at university and put that knowledge together with his talent in coming up with melodies to create this wonderful piece of music.
Found it, as Grant put it as called the devil's interval or tritone, which is putting notes as far away from each other together like f# major and c# major. Something like that.
pablo jams Oh right! Yes I've heard grant say that before. I never knew that was considered evil in the middle ages though. Interesting stuff. Think I will look into the devil's interval or tritone or whatever it's called, thanks for that!
taylorforester88 Depends what kinda music you like. Xenoblade had a soundtrack nearly as good as this (if not just as good) but was a lot more cinematic while this is a lot more playful (Mario Galaxy as a whole was damn good in that department but had its slower songs).
I really like how they used the bee sound effects for some of the track, that's music creativity we had back then, not just with Banjo Kazooie either, Jet Set Radio's soundtrack was fantastic for a similar idea of creativity.
makes me wanna dance. humming this while cycling to school in an sunny morning, then your whole day will be happy. close your eyes, hum it while wandering through hallways or classrooms makes everybody in a good mood.
My brothers thought the Bee's chrous was the funniest thing ever. We couldn't stop laughing throughout this level. Oh God, Banjo Kazooie was my childhood
The music in the game was so deep/intricate. The bees' buzz is part of the "call and response" between the main theme and the response to it xD. It's just all so well thought out and ahead of its time :)
The music of each season of Click Clock Wood captures the mood of each season. Spring: Energetic, cheerful, new life, cool and warm Summer: Hazy, lively, relaxed, hot Fall: Cool, energetic, preparation for winter Winter: Cold, peaceful, beautiful, quiet
I'm mexican and it sounds like mexican music to me, great memories, my niggas!!!! I'm one of millions that thinks so or maybe just 500, there you happy?
I love this game! The only game I ever loved to play over and over. The music is awesome too! All these other consoles are okay but there's nothing like good old fashion N64! Good times and memories!
Works indeed, my N64 stopped playing games but then I ordered a cleaning kit for the games, now they work like new again. Dirt piles up on the connectors as you leave them somewhere and forget about them.
I hated how there was no water in summer though. I fell off the big tree once and when I realized there was no stream, I quickly used Beak Buster before I landed and I was able to save Banjo enough xD I hated the snowmen in the winter part though
Talk about the shade of the sheltering pond, Praise the bamboo tree with it's wide spreading charm, There's a little nook down in old Hampstead Town, You know the place it does one great renown, Often with my sweetheart on a bright Summers day, To the little pub my footsteps will stray, If she hesitates when she looks at the sign, Promptly I whisper, "Now do not decline." Do, do, do, do, do have a drink or two down at the Old Bull and Bush, Bush, Bush!
i agree. i havent played banjo kazooie in atleast 6 or 7 years cos i lost teh adaptor thing to plug my N64 into the TV Dx i really want to play it again
pure brilliance how the seasons change but the music doesn't and yet at the same time they do. My favourite in these tracks go: 1. Spring 2. Autmn 3. Winter 4> summer Just like in real life : )
Unfortunately, this goes for most games these days yes. Some games are good, but are nowhere near original/creative (Halo, etc) and Nintendo's games are so easy it makes me cry. I want those good old days back :'(
I think Banjo Kazooie/Tooie have the second best songs. The Legend of Zelda comes in first place. Its such an unbelievable game just like Banjo and Kazooie.
Some video game music in games is great nowadays, it's just not as common as it used to be. Mario Galaxy is a great example, that had some amazing music
The Old Games are the best..... Banjo and Kazooie is the best Example to tell the People Graphic is not all! And the Music is Hilarious, like good old Times ;)
this song is a version of the old war time song "Down at the old Bull and Bush" Come, come, come and make eyes at me down at the Old Bull and Bush, Da, da, da, da, da, Come, come, drink some port wine with me, Down at the Old Bull and Bush, Here the little German Band, Da, da, da, da, da, Just let me hold your hand dear, Do, do have a drink or two down at the Old Bull and Bush.
@TailsDoll77 compared to today's standards the graphics aren't very good of course, but when this game came out its graphics were unsurpassed. it's hard to believe, but this is probably the one of the smoothest games to ever be created performance wise
Whoever had the reigns of the music really got the moods down for each region.
That's Grant Kirkhope, he's a really good composer.
That’s because winter in CCW is more designed to reflect post-holiday loneliness since the best part of winter is over and everything is so desolate until the livelihood of spring is here and we are finally glad that holiday season over because the new year is in full swing.
>comes back in 2015, notices the bee sounds move left to right across the speakers
***** and then it goes back, right to left. O.O
waht da faqk lol *eyes follow speakers *
ik it relly fucks with my headd
the bee chorus in this track is pure genious
Agreeee

Good times
Will be playing this when it hits 40 and all the lakes have dried out!

He actually based a lot of it on a composition type that was considered evil back in like the Middle Ages or just way back hundreds of years ago.
pablo jams do you know what that composition type is or have a piece of music which demonstrates it ?
I'd have to rewatch a video where he explains it. He explained it on the video he did with the GameGrumps called Guest Grumps with Grant Kirkhope
Found it, as Grant put it as called the devil's interval or tritone, which is putting notes as far away from each other together like f# major and c# major. Something like that.

Summer is my favorite season for obvious reasons. Winter sucks, again, for REALLY obvious reasons. Sun > Cold
Hope you all have a Happy First Day of Summer!
2023, it's summer solstice again at this precise minute. Happy summer solstice!
the best level in the gaming history imo
Wonderful childhood memories....
They don´t make games like this anymore....
I can almost feel the summer heat when I listen to this.
Still waiting for a video game to make better music than this one.
Nope, never gonna happen...
Iñaki Costa It's possible with Yooka Laylee but we'll see
taylorforester88 Depends what kinda music you like. Xenoblade had a soundtrack nearly as good as this (if not just as good) but was a lot more cinematic while this is a lot more playful (Mario Galaxy as a whole was damn good in that department but had its slower songs).
There's several games with music as good. You and I both know Ocarina of Time has damn amazing music as well.
Perfect way to start the summer season! :)
Happy First Day of Summer, everyone!
Also, Banjo in Smash! See you in Fall!
Loved Click Clock Wodd. But does anyone else think it's stupid you can't be a Bumble Bee in Summer as well as Spring?
Like Mumbo said, he was too hot to do any magic lol
I know right!?!
Happy first day of summer!
Ah! Sitting in my yard, right next to me, my Grill and enjoying the sunset with a cold beer
Kinda makes you think about sitting back, enjoying the sunshine and an ice cold beer and fishing.
I really like how they used the bee sound effects for some of the track, that's music creativity we had back then, not just with Banjo Kazooie either, Jet Set Radio's soundtrack was fantastic for a similar idea of creativity.
Nicolas Cage must hate this music...
***** x))) You made my day
goodbyejeffery I heard Jerry Seinfeld loves this song
+goodbyejeffery I don't get the joke, explain it to me, please
+CaptainKleptan Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees.
Someone needs to make a MV

no matter how angry I get this music always calms me down:) perfect angry managment therapy
This is just so well made, was anyone expecting the music to be as good as it was when they bought the game?
_Happy 1st day of Summer 2018, everybody!_
Now this is some good ol' piece of funfair music when I hear it.
Strings sample taken from Roland SR JV-1080 02-Orchestral Expansion
First time listening to this:
Before 0:52 :meh it's not as good as Spring or Winter
After 0:52 : OMG THIS IS SO AWESOME AND EPIC ITS MY NEW FAV!!!!
The music of each season of Click Clock Wood captures the mood of each season.

This was my favorite level. I've always loved the music. Good memories!
This reminds me of some a funny cartoon! The bees singing along in the music is kinda funny!
Happy 1st day of summer!!
It's summer now 2018.
Works indeed, my N64 stopped playing games but then I ordered a cleaning kit for the games, now they work like new again. Dirt piles up on the connectors as you leave them somewhere and forget about them.
This song makes me feel happy.
click clock wood seems like a nice place to relax at on vacation lol
i love the game and the song from the game it is a masterpiece of gaming and is the best game on the n64
the sun in the upper left corner really adds toutch to the Click Clock Wood sign for summer
the first 2 banjo games were musical masterpieces! This lvl topped them all!
I hated how there was no water in summer though. I fell off the big tree once and when I realized there was no stream, I quickly used Beak Buster before I landed and I was able to save Banjo enough xD I hated the snowmen in the winter part though
the music on the N64 was by far the best than any other gaming console, i miss it...
Talk about the shade of the sheltering pond,
Praise the bamboo tree
with it's wide spreading charm,
There's a little nook
down in old Hampstead Town,
You know the place it does one great renown,
Often with my sweetheart on a bright Summers day,
To the little pub my footsteps will stray,
If she hesitates when she looks at the sign,

down at the Old Bull and Bush,
Bush, Bush!
Happy First Day of Summer to all!
Why couldn't Banjo Tooie have music like this?
I miss my childhood! especially with the walks in the zoo!!!
I love those bees!!
Grant Kirkhope... you sir...
I like listening to each season's music on the first day of that season in real life. :D 90 days till summer lol XD
this was my favorite place in the whole game
I love the animal sounds in the backround
I like the idea of the click clock wood themes, it reminds me of the 4 Seasons.
i hate bees in real life but i do love them singing on this
7 days, and I will be blasting this all day :)
i agree. i havent played banjo kazooie in atleast 6 or 7 years cos i lost teh adaptor thing to plug my N64 into the TV Dx
i really want to play it again
Finally!! They made it in Smash 😭
It's a few days late, but happy summer!!
sniff... i want that time back...
Bees are singing along with the song!!! Mumbo out for vacation =D
2012 and YEAP! still listnening to it
I can imagine people dancing to this in a ballet recital.
This sounds like something you'd hear in a 1930s Disney cartoon
Grant Kirkhope sure knew how to set an atmosphere! I bet even someone who doesn't even know this game will associate this song with summer.
pure brilliance how the seasons change but the music doesn't and yet at the same time they do. My favourite in these tracks go:
1. Spring
2. Autmn
3. Winter
4> summer
Just like in real life : )

love this song

My Favortie song in Banjo Kazooie ^^
Imagined regular life in Click Clock Wood?
"AAAAH! (yawn) Mornin', Wood!"
Animals: "AWW thats disgusting, dude -_-"
It's like a song you'd waltz too
a perfectly timed waltz
I forgot that Click Clock Wood's Summer theme was a Waltz! =D
That's awesome!
Some video game music in games is great nowadays, it's just not as common as it used to be.
Mario Galaxy is a great example, that had some amazing music
lol I liked that comment thinking, "It is almost summer! X)" *sees it was written 10 months ago* "...oh...close enough!" XD
miss this game.
Happy first day of summer 2024! 😎
Kirkhope,
I give you a thumbs up for the bee chorus
"WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! I THOUGHT THAT WAS _WATER!_ I THOUGHT THAT WAS _WATER!_ I THOUGHT THAT WAS _WATER!"_
I mean... It _WAS_ water; it just wasn't _ENOUGH_ water.
@@danmeldrum312 WOOOOOOWWWW! 31? That's an improvement! But not eno-oooough~
The Old Games are the best..... Banjo and Kazooie is the best Example to tell the People Graphic is not all!
And the Music is Hilarious, like good old Times ;)
I always hated falling from the tree... Then you have to climb all the way to the top again... :P
Perfect Waltz music :D
damn that bee course IS pure fucking genius.
How beautiful!
I miss the days when video game consoles were made to play video games and when games didn't involve War as it's tag line!
I'mma say it first. Happy Summer (even though it doesn't begin until June 21).
true... 90s gaming.... ;___; was the best... dammit I miss my childhood
If you're already falling, you can still slightly save yourself by Feathery Flapping to safety on a close platform.
this song is a version of the old war time song "Down at the old Bull and Bush"
Come, come, come and make eyes at me
down at the Old Bull and Bush,
Da, da, da, da, da,
Come, come, drink some port wine with me,
Down at the Old Bull and Bush,
Here the little German Band,
Da, da, da, da, da,
Just let me hold your hand dear,
Do, do have a drink or two
down at the Old Bull and Bush.

@theMetallico666
I think we all miss our childhood when these kinds of games came out!
