This is funny. Your channel just came up in my feed and I just planted bush beans yesterday. Your planting beds look really healthy! We're hoping that our garden takes off this year. We're in Southern California and the heat will just destroy things some years. Can't wait to see how yours does!
Thank you for watching my video. I hope the Bush Beans do well. The plants should get a lot of sun there. Just have to keep the pests away. I add compost to the beds spring and fall to amend the soil. Hope you have a great harvest.
Hey Maryland!! Md native here living in NJ (the garden state) or so they say!! I have never transplanted beans or peas always just direct sewed. Your soil looks lovely happy gardening.
Hello, thank you for stopping by. I sow my Bush Beans in the soil as well. Last season some of my beans never came up or were eaten before the plants can grow to a good size. I started some seeds indoors, just in case a ran into the same problem. Good thing I did, I had to replace some and some of the seeds I sowed did not germinate. Hope you have a great season. I add my compost spring and fall to amend my soil. It has made a difference.
I don't really do anything to control grubs. I do get grubs in my beds, some beds have more than others. I just pick them out from the soil, when I amend my beds and see them. I think that keeps the population down somewhat. I'll have to research and see if can buy something to get rid of them.

How do you keep grubs out your soil?
