I like that your channel covers sometimes beginner oriented tutorials and sometimes advanced techniques like this. Thank you. Your videos are very valuable, and I am always recommending you.
Really well done! I made my own waterfalls and copied the settings you have outlined, but there seems to be a pause between frame 24 and frame 1 as it loops back. Is there a way to reduce this pause so that the loop flows seamlessly?
Thank you so much for this awesome video!!! I have a picture of my car as my desktop and I want to create a pink "electrified" animated outline around it... Any ideas on how I could do that?
Hi Michael. Can you help me please! I did a great morph animation in Gimp, but when I export in the .gif format it and plat it, loses all the quality, and the slightly grainy and pixelated. I noticed that your export of the waterfall example was exactly the same. What am I doing wrong? thanks.
Hi, I managed to do it then lost it lol, so re did it again which worked. When I upload the Gif to Twitter the quality is poor but the original is good. Is this normal when you upload a Gif to social media ?
I tried is on a flame and there's a noticeable break between the end frame and beginning so it doesn't look like a continuous flame. Any tips on this? I was successful on some waves in the ocean though.
in the event i have to go back and add key points without potentially overwriting the existing ones, how may i do so? i noticed i forgot to add a key point in a spot and not sure how to go back after proccessing the photo without messing anything up...
Thanks for the video. I tried this today. Animation playback was good but when i exported that to gif the quality is degraded and unfortunately it is quite poor quality.
I get an error message when trying to export as GIF. Says u16 color present, expectign u8 color, convert first. Ahhh!!!! Is there anyway to just export the still images individually, as when I try this they all seem to be the same so can't convert in 3rd party software to video.
because gif has color limits. instead do this . export as .ora file. open in 7zip or archive manager. extract it. go to data folder. now you got png files. open up blender import as image sequence. set resolution . reverse video. export it as video file. Thanks to you (since I was faking same thing with blender no more. you just saved my time). And also using 30 frames give you smooth result.
very in depth, though nearly impossible for someone new to GIMP to follow. i tried to follow along, ran into many roadbumps but got through them. then got "GIF IMAGE MESSAGE> cannot export RGB color imagies. convert to indexed color or grayscale first" I"m sure i'll figure that out eventually, but it was the one speedbump i couldnt easily figure out how to navigate, and it stopped me cold when trying to follow.
I don't understand the last part, with the Export. I clicked everything just like on the tutorial, and when I want to play my animation, GIMP takes me back the original picture. What am I doing wrong?
I had to figure it out for myself, but I had to watch another tutorial from someone else! It would have been nice to mention that in order to visualize our animated image, we need to open it in a web browser! What seems to be logical for some is not to someone like me. It took be two days to figure it out!
Hmm! In my filters there is no GIMIC-QT that comes up. I have the latest version of GIMP. Any help out there? This is the first day I have tried anything like this, so please don't judge my stupidity! 😳😳
Great video. I followed and tried. I can create and save as a .gif and I double checked to make sure I checked the animate box. But, for some reason, when I click the file after it is saved, windows runs it as a photo. I have also tried opening both Chrome and IE then, dropping the file into the browser. It works, but not as a gig, only as a static image. What should I do? Thank you.
I have the same problem. Did you figure it out? It really disappointing that nobody answers. If you figured it out, can you explain to me because I am very frustrated.
i learned photoshop at school and was really good, but since i started using gimp because its free and its much more complicated than ps, im tryna learn with your vids but gimp is real hard!
Thanks Sid - I used to but have since discontinued it. Continuing to like/comment on my videos is support enough for me, but you can always become a premium member on my site or enroll in a course if you'd like to monetarily show your support.
To be honest, I never understood the use for "mask". What exactly is it's purpose? Do understand "alpha channel" either. I keep seeing videos where these 2 things are use but not what their function is.
Oh man!!! I've used Gimp for all my projects for a long, long time, and I got no idea this could be done with it! Just awesome!!!

Glad you like the channel's content and thank you very much for helping spread the word!
As us English say " Absolutely top hole!". Brilliant tutorial delivered in your usual professional manner.
Top hole? Like the butthole? Good for 'em Brits I guess.
A video worthy of repeat views! If you are learning GIMP and would like a huge dose of inspiration, watch this video.
Thank you so much for this❤
thank you a lot for this nice and detailed tutorial.
Köszönöm szépen, sokat segített a videó.🥰
Really nice tutorial, this did the trick for me. Thanks!
This is cool! Where can I download G'Mic OT for Mac though? Thanks for advise!
Oh man. Very well explained Ty and I hope to be decent at this. Will be much easier than doing it frame by frame by hand
Thank you so much. Always so clear and easy to follow.
I cannot download the G’mic QT on my Mac. Is there an alternative?
Man that is so cool. Unfortunately I can't do it for cover design but maybe I could use it for some ads.

Plz, let me know how to finde GMIP Qt ????
:D heck yeah!!!!!!! I can't wait to try this!
How do i find/use G'MIC Qt. Is it still a thing? or do i have to install it separately?
im having the same problem lmao
This is really cool! Thank you for sharing!
Awesome 😍😍
Beautiful!
Excellent stuff!
thanks, man it will help me a lot..
Wow! the adding multiple mask technique is really awesome. Great Tutorial as always.

When I try to morph an image the "in between" tab is just blank and when I complete it the layers are blank.
Oh the same is happening with me...I tried twice
@@namratamaheshwari5716 it's probably a new glitch or something

I went through your instructions twice, hit escape at the end and... nothing. Is there something you're leaving out for the newest Gimp version?
Wonderful tutorial, I love it, Could you do a tutorial about Parallax effect with GIMP? THANKS. You are the best

Thanks, this is amazing! I have noticed that on my laptop the shortcut shift+klik doens't work, is there some way to add these shortcuts?
on a laptop, I think the shortcuts are slightly different and may require you to do something such as fn+shift+click or alt+shift+click
Please can you make another video for animating rain effects
Hello how do I fix the preview error in the G'Mic plugin? Thank you.
Great tutorial!!!
but Gimp have't show gimp Qt,but i already plug ins step by step, can u teach me how??

How would I use this to create a moving ripple on a lake/puddle
*Is it illegal to use public domain photos in my flash 2D animation?*
*I'll make it moving in motion sand alter them*
how do you undo a keypoint placement or reset the animation with no keypoints?

GMIC is a plugin... You have to download and install it.
@@DaviesMediaDesign Perhaps you could mention that in your video. It would have been nice to know.
@@valeriehartman3705 He does, you dingus.
gimp has one of the strangest application name , but is also one of the best image application there is. in my opinion gimp is better than photoshop
Perfect tutorial, thanks.
I tried on png with no background. The figure can move, but there is some black residue in the motion. Is png impossible for gmic?
the link to G MIC QT doesnt work anymore
Thanks for letting me know - I have updated the link.
Thanks for sharing I m doing a lot of this on my tablet with photo director

Thank you for this, this is really great, got new ideas using my gimp
i was fascinated by your video
He is, indeed, the dude talking.
Does anyone know how to create moving rain drops, to animate it?
URL Not Found
where can I find photos for animation, but i need animated photos like cartoons?
Dumb question. How do you know which layer is active?
In the Layer's Tool box/tab, the active layer is highlighted (darker or lighter depending the GIMP's theme you're using)
That's awesome! But why use a layer mask for each layer, instead of a new layer with partial transparency?
Wicked cool!
i learned photoshop at school and was really good, but since i started using gimp because its free and its much more complicated than ps, im tryna learn with your vids but gimp is real hard!
bruh, nice job!
Thanks! I learn so much from your tutorials. :D Side note though you look better with the beard.
Much more advanced and less complicated than Adobe Photoshop
excellent :O)
Running out of superlatives here!
Do you have a Patreon? I really ought to give something back for all you've given over the years

kudos to the dude talking;)
And to think almost 20 years ago, I spent nearly 25K in college tuition to learn this exact type of thing. 😒
Pretty cool; however, I wish Gimp can make it more simplified because this is time-consuming.
To be honest, I never understood the use for "mask". What exactly is it's purpose? Do understand "alpha channel" either. I keep seeing videos where these 2 things are use but not what their function is.
i think my pc committed suicide!!!!😱
