- Another week at the Academy, and this time its the turn of the MK8 Golf R, and this one is no show pony. Used from new as a development car by our friends at Regal Autosport, this MK8 R has been put through its paces, on track, on long road trips and spring events, in all weathers. Now its about to put us through our paces as we set about attempting to make this well-used example look as good as new.

Just a few minutes in and it’s nice to see the wheels removed for cleaning and done properly. Most detailers seem to clean the wheels on the car. Well done you have gained another subscription.👍

Thanks Shane, think the MK8 is alot like most modern cars, they don't quite hit the spot stock but a few modifications can really bring them to their fullest.

We actually do have one, but to be honest find it easier and quicker with the jacks.

That’s correct. Wheels first is our process, the theory behind it is that’s the dirtiest part so start there first.
U know floor mats are nylon or polyester which is plastic I spray my mats with fuchs pro prep and wipe in with clean cloth which makes them shine.

That is some pretty poor condition paint considering VAG clear coat is notoriously hard.
I have a Tiguan R-Line and the clear is like Rocky Balboa! It just pisses itself laughing at anything less than a microfibre pad!
I even tried Sonax CuttMaxx with a medium cutting pad and it did next to nothing!
Mind you, I KNOW mine was made in the main plant in Germany, but I THINK Golf's are now made in Brazil?
Different clear maybe? Or perhaps the temperature and humidity has had an effect?

A couple usually takes car of it.
What do you think about quality of materials in golf mk8 interior? Better than mk7 or worse?
Spec dependant really, the cloth interior doesn't exude luxury or live up to the cars price tag in our opinion, but put a nice spec around one and they are a step up from a 7.5 in the cabin for sure.

Amazing detailing as always. Was a shame to see all that attention to detail with the clean to then put yellow/white no. Plate caps over the blue sections. Either way a stunning car

love the job done on this, however i cant understand why did VW cheapout on the paint, that orange peel is terrible
Alot of modern paint is like this now, its crazy. Body shops have to try to match the factory peel so repairs don't stand out.
In afraid if i bring my car to a detailer, they might refuse it because its already super clean lol

Ese auto no tiene ningún tipo de desafío está en condiciones excelentes solo algo de mícrorayas que no presentas inconvenientes para poder corregir.. Para apreciar bien deben arriesgar a autos con más barniz en condiciones malas y grandes marcas zonas con ausencia de brillo marcas de agua etc
