Shame it didn't have the performance pack with DCC shocks. Then you would have completely adjustable suspension and in Nurburgring mode it would not upshift by itself (you can hit the limiter). Awesome seeing this car on the track, sad that it wasn't the NA spec with the DCC. I would 100% get 18" wheels, it has helped me so much making the car feel better in corners and over bumps. I have some concrete slab road near me with a bunch of seams, and with the DCC in stiff mode, I can feel every single one, but you put it in comfort and it's like they're not there. Completely changes the character of the car. Also, with the S+ mode you don't get the auto-upshifts, but you can't run that on any mode but the Special/Ring mode, so it's not available in Individual which is a shame. Totally agree that it's a hot hatch GT car. The hatch makes it so much nicer, though, since you can actually carry a full set of wheels and tools in the back without any modification.
I dont think I've ever heard an owner complain so much about their own vehicle. Maybe you shoud have spent the extra 💰 on the Performance pack so you get the modes that will not interfere with shifting and traction. But you probably would have been happier with something a little older touch capacitive buttons for around the same price lile an older RS3....

As capable as the car is on track, I just could not live with it as a daily with all the unnecessary assists to be switched off manually everytime and the "far too much touchscreen and touch controls"-depending user interface. I know that most of the unnecessary assists are thanks to the EU and UK regulations, so I don't blame Volkswagen for it. However, I would appreciate the manufacturer which allows you to have a configurable button for which you can decide what to deactivate with one click/touch. If this is legally allowed, of course.

The reason he said it like that is because VW actually underrates their engines, so it's hard to get an exact figure. VW claims 320 but there are some that get as high as 350 on the dyno, completely stock. So saying "320 - 340 something like that" is actually quite honest.
Probably, but is irrelevant cause the thing it's almost impossible to know how many hp an engine has. Actually, dynamometers fails too is not accurate 100%

When they release the mk8.5 facelift, I’m buying that steering wheel for my mk8. I’ll probably need to get in line
Damn you sent it! My car is governed at 151mph. (244kmph)Took it up that fast only once on the highway. Pulled with a newer 5.0 full of people on the highway from 75 to 150 before we had to slow down. Door to door all the way to 145 then he pulled a half car length almost gapped me, but didn't, at the end. He probably hit 155 compared to my 151 is why. This is much safer and more respectable to be doing it on the track.
The brake booster is annoying on track. Easy to remedy with additional coding.
Glad to see mk8R but without performance package it's not the one to test. Although owner needs to grow a pair
I hope that 323f is 1.8 (bp miata engine) not 1.5 (but exhaust indicates the smallest engine). I had one 2010-2016. Looking for the video!
It was a Mazda 3 MPS right?
Man golfs are getting big, I dont like the 4 door version, a golf r 2 doors, with manual gear box is a dream car for me.
Which fuel you was using?. Thanks.
literally just a stock mazda 3, fucking love my 2.3 with the right tires and tighter suspension
"Don't kill my tires" ????
WTF ...que crees que va a hacer dentro del circuito ???
He said he ways joking, but ya not a good joke lol
Ajjajajajja
@@TinyMiniStealtha mí también me hizo gracia como lo dijo al principio
Me: How do you feel about the Golf 8R?
Misha: 10:51
It does not have the performance package!!! Complete different vehicle with the extra options
10:41min Is that the S211 E55 (or S211 E63) which lost his left rear tire? 🥴🫣🤷🏻♂️
Would my modded renault 19 sport be enough for the nurburgring?
I Thought He Was Going To Bee Nervous About His Tires The Whole Time… Thank God…!!!
Mooi rondje.
Misha, which one would you chose
Clio rs mk3, type r fn2 or fiesta st
Clio rs best car for track, st best daily, civic (get an ep3 not fn2) best engine and emotion
Always thought Cupras look MUCH better than Golf Rs. But I REALLY like the mk8
He says, buy the MK7, and invest the money on modding it, so basically is the same thing, but with an older platform.
Might as well buy a 1990 Miata, save the money to do an LS1 swap on mods. Or save the money to buy a Ford Taurus, and invest it on modding it to make it track worthy.
His comment made no sense!
The only car that gets more notifications than Misha's phone 😵💫
3:38 of course BMW flashing lights lmaooo
You need to drive a Kona N please.
The N would blow away this vw on track. It's not even close.
you can't let Misha behind the wheel and then ask him to go "EZ on the tires, pls"
This guy is basically playing a video game IRL (but without rewind) lol
I dont think I've ever heard an owner complain so much about their own vehicle. Maybe you shoud have spent the extra 💰 on the Performance pack so you get the modes that will not interfere with shifting and traction. But you probably would have been happier with something a little older touch capacitive buttons for around the same price lile an older RS3....
If you happen to ever have a spare moment or 2 from flying ludicrous speed @high risk...could you teach the influencers & personal celebs how it's done?! Admirable ambassador
How about cupra formentor with the same engine as golf 8 ?
i wass always saying buttons are the best touchscreens in cars are ussless and yes in wv you cant deactivate the esc completly it sucks and all of these elektronics in the car that always anoy you while driving i dont like new cars at all
Big difference to 8Y RS3?
This car needs a proper DSG tune!! Look after every shift how it just falls down another 0,3 rpm ..😅😬 sounds horrible to me!
Sounds like the clutches is slipping really annoying
Yeah something is wrong with his DSG, mine shifts much more smoothly
Great job
Keep it up
temperature of what ? showing UP?
Gearbox, Oil, Coolant from top to bottom. (Coolant is pegged to 90 until it's a lot higher; a VW thing.)
I feel like I remember meeting this guy at Bedford Autodrome on a track day, really nice guy, the car was basically brand new then… but if it wasn’t him it was his twin 🤣
10:37 dude was that the mercedes that lost his left rear wheel?
Ever tried the seat Leon cupra st 300? 4drive of course.
Anyone know why the BMW flashed him in the start of the lap?
Needed to be in Nuremberg mode!
despite that the car is vw crap owner is super friendly. kudos to him. hope soon he can buy something better than vw group craps.
Yeah Misha tried to be nice, but the car is garbage on track.
Gearbox doesn’t seem very dsg like. It seems to be slurring the gears…..maybe wasn’t in R setting?
i love the dashboard 😍
Misha! Did you delete the engine sounds pre-render, or did VW delete them pre-sales 😂
What would you prefer Golf R GTI or Civic Type R?
Let me think.🤔
type r
I would like to see an MK6 Fiesta ST on the channel.
Last generation? Or will there be a new R in the future?
I think there will be a MK9 R, but PHEV assisted
@@RyeRyeLThe 8th generation will be that last Golf. VW announced, that they will retire the Golf platform in 2027 completely. In 2024 the facelift will be available on the market and that's the last Golf you can buy.
The capacitive touch not disappointing as usual like every other track video 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mazda 323F? Mazda Lantis.....
Love the videos Misha
Whos honda motorcycle is that at Apex? Cool bike
Why every car owner when asked "how many HP your car make?" answers like he doesn't know how many HP the car make "Hmmm, about 314, 320, something like that". OF COURSE HE KNOWS! hahahaha
Then you say i dont know or 320.
Nah mate
@@ZenzDeluxethen the answer would be ‘VW claim 320’, rather than pretending not to know
In Germany, GTIs are frowned upon. It immediately seems to me as if these prejudices only exist in the German community. German culture and mentality is simply designed to not indulge
What about the mazda 323 ? ? ? Cant wait to see that little japanese marvel !
In the thumbnail it looked like James Rolfe was there riding shotgun.
Danger to the manifold error, You know, stuf like that...😄
Good video
VW engineer: these mk8 haptic controls are great
Misha and owner: these mk8 haptic controls are shit
Love the way the cameras are set up now days 👍
Greedy to not get the performance package but man when you decide to sell it it will be a nightmare to find a buyer that's the thing
Need to do top spec Tiguan R lol .still a 7.5 fanboy
