- We analyzed all the Best Pokemon type combinations for every type to find out what is the BEST type in the game in regards to defense. After analyzing all the best Pokemon type combinations strengths and weaknesses, we compare them to one another and ranked them accordingly.

3:10 sorry where does this assumption come from? Excluding pre-evolutins there are only 3 ghost types with levitate (7 if you include all pre-evolutions) notably haunter and duskull lose levitate when they evolve. There are actually far more psychic types with levitate with 12 fully evolved mons with the ability.
The only time this is really applicable if is your talking about gen 4 specifically where gengar still has levitate and all of the rotom forms are still ghost types. There is no other generation where ghost has a significantly larger number of levitate mons compared to any other types.
Right, I was talking in a general sense but sometimes my mind is stuck at Gen 4 mindset, was actually really surprised to learn dusknoir and gengar don't get levitate not to long ago.

Ice just can't work defensively, it's only option is go full offense (and things like Iron Bundle, Chien-Pao and Garmanitan are proof of that)
So the best typings are
Ice/Electric
Ice/Fighting
All have no x4 weaknesses, are good at covering their own weaknesses. And can hit hard almost everything.
But the crown goes to Ice/Ground.
It may have 5 weaknesses, but with its STAB can cover THREE of them. Half of the types are crushed by this combo.
even though poison/water has 8 resistances, poison/dark is so much better since it only has 1 weakness I think you missed it. imagine drapion/alolan muk with levitate... that would be BROKEN
I understand that you intended to focus specifically on the defensive side & number of weaknesses/resistances, but it then feels disingenuous to put BEST TYPE COMBINATIONS in the title. There are many strong type combinations that many competitive players would argue are better because of their offensive coverage. Here's a few you didn't appear to mention:
Water/Fairy: While it has more weaknesses than the other water combinations, it has by far some of the best resistances in the game and two less than relevant weaknesses. Not to mention, only 26 pokemon total can resist both STABs.
Flying/Ground: While certainly not on the level of Steel in defensive qualities, it still boasts only two weaknesses & two relevant immunities. In addition, this is one of the strongest offensive pairings period with only 17 resisting both.
Fire/Dark: Again, not quite as defensively inclined as others mentioned for Fire, or dark for that matter, but the typings it does deal with are relevant & Dark in general is a great pairing for offense at only 46 resists. This one is not as good overall, but for Fire it's still a top choice.
Poison/Dark & Normal/Ghost are also a lot stronger when considering their offensive synergy, so many consider them among the best period. Also want to mention Fairy/Ground (arguably the strongest offensive typing we've yet to get), which if it is ever released on something slightly above average in speed we're all doomed.
Thanks for the comment. Firstly for the sake of time some of these types you mentioned were in the original script but needed to be cut out. Secondly I think the first minute of the video makes it clear that the vid will be focusing on defence. I might add it in the title later but I'll see because as you said it will make the main focus of the video clearer. And since I am planning to make the same video but purely focusing on offensive types, it will help identify both better but I'll see

What about flying/poison ? I think that seems great it’s already immune to ground which poison is weak 2 so that would leaving flying weak to electric and rock and immune to ground. I’m no expert I’m just thinking

@@Hero_of_Sinnoh I made a mod where I balanced all types to make them a bit more even, without making new ones. i did set some boundaries.
From what my friends tested Rock, Ice and Bug types were very good and usable.
