    Volvo is a hidden secret....looks great and is one of the last companies that do European delivery...leased a XC90 loved it, and went overseas to buy a V90 CC...love the rarity of the brand, and it does the job! Also, pro-tip if you buy European delivery you get 5% off the MSRP and addtl % off additional add ons...end up saving a lot of money.

    • @sirfriendzone1228

      I would be surprised if you could get a discount now on an XC90 for European delivery to the US since worldwide production has been moved to the US. 🤔

      @lmn222002 According to an article from Volvo, they planned to shift production of the XC90 to South Carolina for 2023. I haven't found one that says it's completed that shift, so it's possible that some are still built in Sweden currently.

    The bit about high friction 2nd row seats is spot-on. Potential buyers need to know about this. Especially how it suddenly lunges back into position when you are already exerting a lot of force trying to move it. I was hit in head when learning how to use those seats.

    i have own a lot of cars around 45+ at this point. The volvo xc90 is the longest car I have kept , its just so good at everything. and i hated volos before I bought it. I tried replacing it several times and thankfully I didn't trade mine in, i just end up reselling the new car I get. I hear people have reliability issues and our t6 we have had zero in 59k.

    Access to the third row in most mid size 3 row SUVs can be hazardous at best. However the XC90 does offer a 6 seat option with much easier 3rd row access through the space made available by removing middle 2nd row seat.

    Even here in Sweden these are rare, most popular is the XC40, most Swedes would not pay 700k SEKfor this unless they are ultra wealthy suburban dwellers, even then most drive Lexus Hybrids and Mercedes and Teslas.I see a lot of V70s that are ten years or older , many swedes hold onto their cars as long as possible, we don have the outrageous flashy car culture like the USA. Swedes don't see Volvo as a Luxury brand either only countries outside Scandinavia region do.

    Back in 2016, Jeff Glucker's enthusiasm in his review was so palpable, I was sold! It took 3 years to pull the trigger, but my 2019 T6 Inscription in Magic Blue with Amber Nappa has been perfect for me and my Giant Schnauzers. Show me another vehicle as classically stylish this late in its product cycle. Great job Muzios! 🤚🤚🤚

    I love these reviews and I follow a lot of different automotive channels. But lately, once I see the price ( in this case almost $85,000 ), I almost always bail out on the video because the vehicle is so far removed from anything most people can afford. Can anyone else relate?

    4:20 - I'm so glad someone mentioned the spider in that little cubby, I never noticed it til I was taking the plastic covers off the backs of the third row seats 😂
    7:37 - Just to add, Volvo got rid of the Dark Theme for all the XC90s... I've only ever seen two 2023-model XC90 Dark Themes come in to the dealer where I work, so that is likely why they got rid of it. I personally really loved the blacked out look, but Volvo dropped the ball by only offering far too many dull grays and blacks.
    14:41 The reason why wireless charging is gone from all the Volvo models except the C40 and XC40 is because they didn't really work well. They just kinda threw it in as an afterthought and your phone would always slide around.
    14:44 If anyone hates this clip (don't know why anyone would), you can actually get it removed!

    My family of four has owned this PHEV for a little over a year and I concur with everything you and "Sweetie" said in this video. My wife loves it (despite a couple of minor check engine lights) and is now a bit of a brand loyalist. We have the lower trim of the PHEV, so I would say that my least favorite thing is the ride quality. Very stiff for a luxury vehicle. Probably should have splurged for the air suspension. The other thing I would like to mention is that in perfect weather (70 degrees) we get about 40 miles of electric range even after a year of battery degradation. We keep it plugged in every night and rarely need gas except on road trips. Thanks!

    • @FastRedPonyCar
      @FastRedPonyCar Рік тому +2

      My wife and I did a back to back test of 2 XC90's when we were shopping. One had air ride, the other didn't. We honestly coudln't tell the difference. The dealer didn't tell us which was which until we had driven both.
      We ended up finding a used 2023 with barely any miles on it for about $10k off MSRP and we're scheduled to get it next week. It's replacing a 2019 XC60 base trim model that was hit and totaled and if my math is correct, this will be our 6th volvo.

    Volvo's have among the better seat for safety in the industry. They don't "submarine" (breaking loose easily and sliding forward) the backs don't collapse and they hold the passengers in place. Unfortunately I've heard of some hit and miss quality issues with the XC90 models.

    • @FastRedPonyCar
      @FastRedPonyCar Рік тому

      Why? So it can get worse gas mileage? It already has tons of power and they're not trying to compete with the M SUV's or Audi S trim and AMG variants. C&D's test of this thing pulled a 4.5 sec 0-60 which isn't exactly slow.
