I love that she was honest about how she felt about them seats. That’s what we need when you all review these vehicles. The hood and the bad. Definitely appreciated ✊🏾
I’ve owned a first year 2016 Inscription. Great SUV. Friend of mine had one with 170k miles before he sold it. Another friend has one with over 220k miles
Actually the seats are extremely comfortable. Tons of seat adjustments. That one has the inscription/ultimate seats with extra bolsters etc. Base model one has less bolstered seats and good for short people
Great review. Love the Fortress of Solitude reference. I'm glad you mentioned the seats. I went for a long drive in a Subaru Cross Trek and my back was in agony afterwards.
The Volvo XC90 is an outstanding SUV. Classically refined looks and outstanding performance. You can take it to the opera or take it to the mountains to go skiing. And the history behind Volvos is outstanding. Volvo has been engineering cars and trucks for many many years. Also engineer and build Marine Engines, Construction Equipment, Over the Road Trucks, etc. Great legacy and years of strong performance.
They really haven’t changed these at all since the launch. Interior still looks fairly fresh but exterior is needing a bit of work. I remember test driving the regular gas version way back and wasn’t impressed with the 2.0L hopefully it’s better now
The seats look great, but I thought I was the only person who was extremely uncomfortable in the seats with the pressure points behind the legs. It has actually been the only reason I considered trading Volvo for a different brand. Long trips require me to stop often once or twice per hour for leg relief other than that I love the vehicle.
My Mom has a 2021 XC90 T6 Inscription with the same time and same color (denim blue), except her’s has a white interior, a leather shift knob, and no 2nd row middle seat.
When these first came out, Jeff Glucker's review was one of the first I saw. His enthusiasm was so palpable, I was sold! Took me 3 years to pull the trigger, but my 2019 Magic Blue and Amber nappa T6 Inscription has been perfect for me and my 2 Giant Schnauzers. I know time marches on. Sorry Lyn was not as impressed. I know several agree with her about the wool seats. Maybe an ultimate trim with leather would be more comfortable. Or even better, a V90! 🌞 🇸🇪 🐾 ✨️ 💜
I guess the seats are basically Rdesign ones with a different textile material. I previously owned a 2022 Volvo XC 60 r-design model, and the seats were not comfortable for long journeys, as you have mentioned. But I recently traded in for a Volvo XC 90 with Nappa leather seats, which are more comfortable than the R-design ones. I have driven both cars quite a bit and will definitely recommend the Nappa leather seats!
The comment about the seats is interesting, as I have read (not tried!) Volvo seats are among the most comfortable of all vehicles. Yes, it is subjective.
I would love it, if Volvo reliability hadn't fallen off so much. Love love love their cars, but not if I cant depend on it for the longevity they used to have.
Amazing vehicle that's aged supremely well due to its fantastic engineering out of the gate. Those seats are a zillion ways adjustable, you couldn't find a fit that worked for you? That's kinda surprising and disappointing.
I can confirm it still is! My Mom’s was made there 2 years ago when they got it. Volvo even invited them out to see her particular one getting built (the hotel and all was going to be free -5-star hotel stay paid by Volvo-), but my parents declined since they were busy at the time.
@@seanlindy but they still have to get it shipped to the US at their own cost, like usual. The trip is just so they can go see it get made. After it is made, it’ll sit and wait for shipping just like the other ones. Then when it arrives at the dealer in the US, you can pick it up from there.
We have an xc40 with a similar control system. It’s terrible - tiny touch sensitive buttons and awful menus. Bring back the real buttons. I question Volvo’s commitment to safety with such a distracting user interface. I think Volvo is interested in safety as a marketing tool.
Good review, BUT 3 (potentially glaring) omissions. First, I heard young lady compliment the “European design”. However is this vehicle not made in China and is not the parent corporation a Chinese entity? To some of us, that’s a big deal re purchasing. Second, the availability of dealers should have been addressed. Does Volvo have a national network in U.S. similar, for example, to getting a Toyota serviced? I’m thinking not. Third and lastly, the presenter notes ample headroom available. Great … but she’s barely taller than roof when she’s standing alongside vehicle. Ample headroom for her, but what about a 6’4” 300# man? More focus needed on key purchasing specs and less gushing re aesthetics.
Also didn't mention anything about sound quality of the speakers. It comes with a Bowers and Wilkins sound system that is one if not the best on any car and it was not mentioned even once :(
I will give you the ample headroom issue but for the other two, Volvos are still built and assembled in Sweden, except for their Asian market. Those cars are made in China. Geely does indeed owns Volvo but has let them to do whatever they want in terms of design and mechanical side. Second, a quick google search would tell you that there like 285 Volvo dealers in US, which is in line with other luxury brands like Mercedes (380 dealers in US) and BMW(366 Dealers in US). Sure Toyota has over a thousand dealers in US but then again, Toyota is not a Luxury brand.
@@MHassan1986 Thanks for finer point re dealer network. KBB is fortunate it has helpful viewers such as yourself to fill-in gaps and I agree Lexus would have been better company to cite. As far as Geely, I must beg to differ but I understand your thought. My thrust is that any profits flow, still, to a Chinese entity. I’m not cool with that. I am okay with buying something which pays for a nice pair of lederhosen or a personalized pair of bonsai shears (to use two heavy-handed analogies), but not to lard bottom line of a company that has potential links to a government imprisoning dissidents and/or building hypersonic missiles aimed at Taiwan.

It’s aged incredibly well.
I’d recommend this in the segment
This vehicle hasn’t been redesigned since 2015 and yet it still looks modern
Some slight changes
@@TheCJUN im late but the screen changed its google screen it used to be powered by volvo but they changed

Gotta love the XC90's timeless exterior design. Well done Volvo!

this is kinda ironic because the 2024s are already being sold

Turn off “Creep”-mode and you have one pedal driving - works in mine!
Volvo applying to something we here in Sweden call 'Lagom är Bäst'
Aged like wine
It’s beautiful

These new fabric seats are not that great honestly.
The Nappa seats on my 2019 are fantastic!
Looks like she's wearing a Tissot PRX
I tried to do my car value on KBB its say $2000--2500 but when i look on the market the same car is about $6k why ?
Do you have to have the valves cleaned often? Is there an advantage to direct injection.

It’s starting to feel a little dated… I’ve test driven a few and love the style and fit and finish… But reliable is also a big issue.
Hopefully, still made in Sweden?

What is the millage of this car
Volvo is known for some of the best seats in the biz . That’s odd the reviewer didn’t like them .
Time for a redesign…. How old is this model now?
The Volvo brake lights haven't changed for how long, hmm......decades.
Q5 not compete XC90
fabric seats....no
You can get it on leather too
who would buy this for over 70k
She had hard times liking it.
Why only Apple Car play. How about Android?? If yes, need to mention. The whole world does not use Apple only
Yes I want to drop 90k

second!
Best thing to do when buying a Volvo, is to keep driving and don't buy Chinese garbage
Currently owned by a Chinese company. Built in Sweden except the large sedan S90 which is popular in China. Get your facts right bubba
@Wildman2291 No, it is still Chinese garbage. Just because a Swede touches it doesn't make the situation better.
First!
V.expensive for a chinese car.
Just like whatever you used to make that comment is also expensive and also made in china
@@naveenthemachine No, my Iphone is made in India. And it cost a tiny fraction of a car.
