Great job Gerry! I had to show my wife how clean your oven is. The doc said my nose isn't broken and should be fine in spite of the scuffing on my wife's knuckles. Cheers! MB BAR RANCH
Hi Martin. Great that your stay in hospital was short 😀 The oven is getting on in years now but only costing €10 to fix it was great. Regards to your Ninja wife Cheers Gerry😜
Did this job myself, but saved hassle by first taking out the old element and then sourcing one with the right clip fitting that arrived the next day from Amazon.
I did exactly the same for my Miele oven...being Miele, the replacement part was the best part of £100...so i bought a completely different one of the same wattage but with the same coil diameter for £20 and made it fit like yourself. i had an additional problem with the cooling fan (probably why the element failed) with it struggling to spin. i ended up replacing that with again a part from a completely different oven...its amazing how similar these parts are and how much the price varies.
Hi Garry. I don't work on these things often but some of them are easy to access. When buying the parts online it can be an absolute minefield. My own repair worked great and cost very little. Well done on getting the miele working. There is some satisfaction to be found in fixing or making things yourself. Thanks for commenting Cheers Gerry
Good job on the repair Gerry. I find that it is better to repair something myself than pay someone else. Between cars, appliances, and a long list of household repairs we have saved a bundle. I am sure, like myself, that you like to save the money. There is also a great deal of satisfaction when you do something yourself. Keep the videos coming!
Hi Michael It's great when having a go works out and saves some money. It's also the convenience of not having to wait for someone to call out and repair things. Well done, you deserve that pint Cheers Gerry🍻👍
Hi Tom. I think if the oven cleaning was down to me it would look like my shed most of the time.😜 in bits. There is still some life left in it now which is cool for just a tenner. Thanks for commenting Tom made me laugh Cheers Gerry👍
Not really. If a person is knowledgeable enough, then fair play to ‘em. Those “10 minute UA-camrs” will never be successful, so you do not panic. You have nowt to fear.
Have you tried to get a dishwasher engineer these days? You just can't get one, they are refusing to come out to dishwashers because of sites like these. I myself refuse to go out to dishwashers again because of sites like these. I called out to an oven today, the customer bought a fan element because the oven was not heating up she fitted it and it still did not heat up, so she did what she should have done in the first place and called us out. It was not the element that was at fault, it was the temperature limiter, so she is stuck with an element that she cannot return. So my message to all you 10 second UA-cam engineers is this. IT IS NOT ALWAYS THE ELEMENT THAT IS AT FAULT WHEN THE OVEN IS NOT HEATING UP. It could be any of numerous parts at fault, Selector switch, thermal limiter, broken wire, T.O.C and on today’s modern ovens the module PCB. These sites are destroying the industry. All these sites want to do is sell cheap nasty elements. Carry on destroying the industry and people will suffer.
Brilliant presentation mate, typical Irish humour 😂 gonna tackle mine now 👍
