I just read in a book that it can be helpful to split your day or month into quarters like in a sports game. You may not have played well in the first quarter or first half but there is still so much time for improvement!
This was just the video I needed today ❤️ I have been off budget pretty much this whole year and I realized I was copy and pasting the budgets of other people ( and not considering the fact that we all have different things going on in our lives). So I’m hoping to start completely new with my finances and actually look at what’s going on in my life and what are some realistic goals. So thank you for the video! It definitely encouraged me to actually start the process of really looking at my finances ❤️
YES this is so important to remember!! Your finances are personal to YOU and in order for your budget to work, it's got to work for YOU not others. We all enjoy spending on different things and are saving for different purposes!!
Thanks for giving me a push to face my finances head on or at least be more mindful with spending. I get on a good track, fall off, and get scarred to confront it again.
Love your credit card breakdown! I have specific jobs for my credit cards too. My gold Amex is the one in my wallet and I swipe for all in person purchases, my Citi card pays for all my recurring bills, and my blue cash everyday Amex is for all my online purchases. I don't carry the other cards in my wallet only the gold Amex and my debit card just in case there is a place that does not take Amex. Remember each day is a new day and you can restart at any time. I got the spreadsheet that you are using this month and I love it so much more than the one I had before. So much easier to keep track of debt i owe and where I have spent money. So thank you for putting the link to it in your last budget video. This video also is a great reminder that checking in on how things are going is fine.
Yay so glad!!! I really love the spreadsheet but of course we all have different wants and needs and I spine especially with budget spreadsheet that can be hard to find something that works for you, so it always makes me happy when I hear you guys say that you found one that you love!!!

Honestly kudos to you for even trying!! No-spend challenges are a mental challenge and you deserve a high five for even just wanting to do one! That's exactly what I mean by using slip-ups as learning opportunities! You started it, you may have hit a bump BUT you still noticed you spent less than usual! You could also try a low-spend for the rest of the month if you think that''s healthier/less restrictive on yourself!
