    To have the hands hurting ist common for edrums, because of the rubber cymbals. You should give the Zildjian Anti Vibe Drumsticks a try, they work for me.

    I just purchased this kit and wonder how many input for the hh? There is one for hh and one for hh control but the instructions didn't tell where the hh cable goes?

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  День тому +1

      I use one connection. HH control. That will cover everything

      @Bearvswolf great thanks then what's the point of the extra hh input? For roland hh? 😅

      @@bingminmin just a guess. But I think they use the same module for other kits. So the lower end kits that dont have the optical hi hat might use the regular 1/4 inch jack. On efnote 5 you use a regular hi hat stand. On the 3x I think its a footpedal not connected to the cymbal. So the control would maybe connect to the pedal and the HH jack would go to the cymbal (trigger). 🤷‍♂️

    You don’t have to smash it, but smash it anyway. 👍😉

    Thanks for the info! You mentioned using it an apartment. Did you find it loud for an apartment setting?

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  3 місяці тому +4

      I never got any complaints. I did pick my times wisely and tried to keep it to shorter sessions. I was also in a corner apartment. So I really only had people above me and on one side. And I knew pretty well they were at work when I played.

    Hey there, appreciate the video. Whats the rough floor space the whole kit takes up? Trying to plan out where it may go in my apartment.

      I have it on a 5 ft round rug I got at Target. It basically fits on it completely, with just one or two legs off by the smallest amount.

    Have the same Kit and also love it. One thing that bugs me is, that the Hi Hat has an extremely narrow window for the "slightly open" position and i struggle a lot to consitently hit that (it would be more open than i want mostly). I know there are a lot of settings and calibration, but i couldnt find any solution for this problem. Can you maybe help me with that?

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  3 місяці тому +1

      Run the hi hat calibrator. It is essentially automatic. My hi hat got way tighter afterwards. I think it may need to be run periodically for best results. 🤘

    Efnote has been a big surprise and a success. I would like to buy an efnote but I would like the 14 inch snare and 16 floor Tom and a 22 inch bass drum without spending $6,000 these drum prices have gotten way outa hand. Before I build my own electric drum kit, I will wait and see what efnote does. I’m hoping for better sounds and an electric drum set. Would be great if they would introduce Steve slates drum library. They would jump ahead of Roland in so many ways.

    Hey Man Great Video! i wondering what the line out options are for this? can i run this through to a Drum Speaker (Wedge) aswell as having it coming through my headphones?

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes, you can configure it a few different ways. But you can definitely do that scenario. There is an 1/8th inch headphone jack. And the module has two 1/4 inch LR output jacks as part of the wiring harness.

    Are the overheads via usb real overheads, as in how you’d hear the whole kit when mic’ing, or just the cymbals?

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  Місяць тому

      I believe they are just the cymbals. Because you can send a line out to Logic and have the drums broken out to sep tracks. And a stereo of the cymbals. I dont think there are drums in the overheads. But if you use a plugin (slate, addictive) you then get drums in overheads as normal.

      @ cool, I used to have a strike pro, sold it when we moved and I’m leaning towards this for recording at home. They’re pricey here in Canada though, about $4400 cad. Seems to be the perfect sizes for my space and has all the features I want.

    in your opinion would this kit be good to drum with more rock/punk rock type songs with that heavy play? like will it hold and sound just as good?

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  Місяць тому +1

      I wouldnt say many of the sounds in the module are punk suited. But some good standard rock tones. I bought mine used and it came with the rim split on the snare. So it is possible to over play on them. Im not the heaviest hitter so I havent had any issues with them holding up since though.

    Does the drum brain let you modify the sounds of the snare? I know you said your favorite sound is Funq, but I feel like the snare sounded dead and stiffled.

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes. There are 14 snares to pick. And you can adjust the tuning and muffling. As well as change the type of ambience being used.

    . . . you talk about getting tired ! Thats because of the mesh heads and the rubber cymbals. I work with a 12 inch snare since years with 2 ply,
    my tuning is shortly before explosion. But it withstands this high tuning since at least 2 years or more.
    Go not bigger than 12 inch with snare - you will be disappointed ( less rebound ) ! Equip the toms with single mesh heads, you will have much better rebound. My experience is: Everything bigger then 14 inch in tom size ! ? bad bad bad - law of physics - again sloppy rebound !
    Bassdrum ? Unfortunately the same thing, even worse !6
    My bass drum is a 16 inch XXL from Sonor with XL hubs. Looks super and has a excellent rebound.
    My set is a semi E kit, with stack kind of cymbals - but this is a other story. ..... I love it ! ! ! - natural sound and a realistic feel
