  • Had a cooling issue, changed the cooling fan switch, later turned out to be a defective cooling fan.

After you watch Pt I and II of my next videos on this project that I have come to the conclusion that neither the fan switch or fan was bad and it most likely the thermostat because the engine got very hot but no the radiator, so in my Pt II video you will hear me say I will change the thermostat, But I will not go into changing the water pump, don't have the patience for it, but I have no problem changing the fan switch and the fan so at least I have a backup without ordering and waiting. Again thanks for watching.

Before you put another fan on, you can test it first. Remove the conector from the switch sensor and connect it to a ground point on the motor. If the fan is running, it is good. If it does not run, then the fan is broken. If the fan is good then you have a bubble in your system, or the thermostat is broken.

Thanks for the tech advice Herman, but when your bike is 20 years or more and parts maybe hard to find I would rather not test it especially with electronic items but after the fan switch, new fan, it turned out to be the thermostat, so at least now I have some new cooling parts installed :) Thanks for watching.

Look over me calling the adjustable wrench a Allen wrench about twice, My Bad.
