Laminating without a laminator

- This trick doesn't seem to be as well-known as I thought it would be, and people had some questions, so I put together this lame little video to demonstrate how it's done.
All you need is a hard surface (e.g. regular wooden desk), some kind of thin cotton fabric as protector (a bag in this case, pillow case works great too), normal thermal laminating sheets, and a clothes iron. Really, it's not rocket science. The heat on the iron was set to almost max (between ** and ***).
Great for making munzees en masse.
Thanks so much. Now I can stop nagging the hubby for an expensive laminator! You're awesome.
Funny, I was just thinking of using a clothes iron to laminate something, and decided to see if anyone had already done it. Thanks for posting Richard, it's simple home remedies like these that can make a difference to kids working on small projects (and limited budgets) :)
Yes, or almost the highest temp. Different sheets require different temps, so it takes a bit of experimentation to get it right. If the temp is too low, they won't laminate (obviously). If it's too high, you're gonna get more bubbles in.
thank you! works well with (brown) baking paper. plus - it can withstand up to 220 C degrees ;)
Nice, Exactly what I needed thank you, and coincidently it was for Munzees also
Worked like a charm!
Do we have to scroll the mouse too?
On the plus side, you can do this while ironing your clothes :-)
Worked great for me. Thanks!
Awesome Idea, was just about to purchase a Laminator but no need now! Cheers from Mel in England xx
kis plastic ka use kiya h
What type plastic cover using u mam palithin cover use cheyocha
Can I use these sheets to laminate only one side of whatever I am laminating, if I sepatate the back sheet from the front sheet?
*You can also use clear contact paper that You can buy for 1$ at Dollar Tree ,Walmart, Target etc.*
It’s Private well, that is my next venture because laminating pouch paper is expensive.
I have used wide clear tape to laminate photos. I only laminate the front side, so to do both sides, I would just use another piece of the tape on the backside.
Great trick!
thank you so much ! you have just saved me money and space as I will not buy a laminator that I will not use all the time anyway :) Thank you! xx
Oh cool!! I have t owned an iron in over 20 years
nice bong
Smart idea.
Really Great. Thanks for sharing.
How thick the laminating film did you use (micron)..may I know please..tia
Package says 127 µm each side. It's the cheap generic stuff that you can get at Walmart.
Jaka temperatura żelazka? Może łatwiej na jakim materiale jest ustawiona temperatura? Z góry dziękuję za odpowiedź
Wysoka temperatura. Zestaw do bawełny.
What material is the bag made out of?
I love to laminate very large posters and maps with iron and T-shirt. In the old days many people did it in their offices to make business cards.
A4 and especially A3 sized laminators are very pricey and take much space than they are worth. This is way more cheaper and need less space to keep. Also no need to fear that the cell gets stuck in the machine. :)
did you use the iron in tthe highest temperature? thank you for uploading btw :)
wow, I was about to buy a laminator but It's not necessary any more. What size of the laminating sheet do you use for Id cards?
perfect, u can iron your wrinkled bag and get your stuff laminated... lol :)
what kind of paper was used I couldn't see? Thank youu so much for this video . sheer brillance
Which plastic
They're special laminating sheets, the kind that's supposed to be used with a laminator machine.
how long do you need to use the flat iron??
Not long at all, just a few seconds per area

Do you have a light that can light up the room with while you film this?

That would be because there's no sound :)

Thank you now I don't have waste 40+ dollars
Great trick!
