    hello friend, do you know why my hawk 250cc starts but always turns off and it is like that until the engine warms up

    Excellent vid bro - warm my bike up like that but unfortunately no half choke setting on my DT so it gets full choke for a few mins till warm enough to take revs. Your Hawk runs real sweet on warm up.

    Good vid with some good hints. Being an old geezer, with limited leg power, I sometimes cheat a little on me carburetted bikes by warming up the carb and inlet tract with a hot air gun when very cold.

    The choke has its own fuel AND air feed. It relies on engine vacuum to flow. Opening the throttle REDUCES the effectiveness of the choke system.

    After owning this bike and having used it extensively would you buy it again or recommend going with hawk dlx (fuel injected) model if you were to purchase again?

      Knowing what I know now, I would go with the cheaper carbureted version. Only reason being is that the bike simply falls apart after thousands of miles ( I have 8,000 miles on my bike and it unfortunately has many issues, one of the bigger issues is the engine has issues) keep in mind it is very hard to capture the entire “picture” in this comment. In my opinion the engine is actually very solid, but the airbox has a fatal flaw, it’s a bad design. It can cause water to easily get into the engine and ruin all of the bearings (that’s what happened to me). So now I am sitting at 8,000 miles with an engine that will probably need a crankshaft down the road, and on top of that there are countless other issues with the chassis and hardware on the bike. Because of all of this, in my opinion the hawk is a short term investment, unfortunately the bike is just not going to last a life time like some of the Japanese bikes, so in my opinion why spend the extra money. If your going spend $2000 on something I highly recommend buying a used Japanese bike. (in Ohio it’s very easy to turn any dirtbike into a street legal bike, so cheap Japanese bikes are easy to find and put on the road). That’s my two cents, hopefully this helps, and thanks for watching!

    How does it handle on hard road with stock tires.

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  Рік тому

      It handles great. But I am used to riding on pavement with fourwheelers and dirt bikes, everyone is different. we ride in wv where everyone rides on the pavement with off-road machines, it’s the feel of freedom. I love it.

      Not worth it. If something happens with an efi system from a chinese company, good luck finding parts. Unlike carbs you can replace with many brands.

      It was really a great comment and it gave me an awesome video idea. If this video helps one person I will be happy! Unfortunately alot of folks have troubles starting the hawk in cold weather. It is difficult and there is definitely a learning curve to it. With this video hopefully it can help anyone that is having cold start problems with their hawk. Thanks for wantching and thanks for the great comments!

    The best advice I will give you for getting a Hawk. 250 minus a 2015 very first year and model is number one I put a casole high performance Ignition system in it. Ignition box got rid of the original car braider and put a nibby high performance racing car braider, jetted and then custom adjusted it by watching the exhaust at night. And tuning it to where the exhaust didn't glow under 2000 RPM. Then I just put it on full choke. There is no half choke on a nibby carb. Raider hit the key. She fires right up and I've had this. Good luck with this bike with this car braider. And that Ignition system that I put on it in weather that was 4°. And by the way, with the high performance Ignition system, there is no revelum. Or she'll rev to whatever you want to put her at. Woke the bike up big time.My next step is I'm going to put a big bore.Kid in it and wake it up To approximately three hundred c c then then she'll go even faster than she already does

      Mine actually runs really good with the original carburetor, it’s just a matter of jetting it correctly.
