    Mine worked great for about 6 months. The switch just completely stopped turning. I think it's jammed, but of course the housing is brittle and glued together. Good luck.

    I ordered a two pack of these same exact heaters but with a different name from Amazon mounted one on a truss in my garage at about 7' 7/2' high couldn't feel much heat so I built a couple stands now I can move them around and have one on either side of me. One more thing the light is pretty useless it's very dim will be disconnecting or just removing the bulb.

    Can you use this for hours if you're not in the garage? Is it safe? Is there any danger of it starting a fire? Can you leave it on all night or day?

    • @_Shopfix
      @_Shopfix  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, I have turned it on to heat up my garage before going out and working. It is certainly safe, much safer than some alternatives. You can leave it on all day, although that might use quite a bit of electricity to run. I would not leave it on all night.

    I have the Prime brand version(same as that) worked great for only 1 section of my garage shop your roof is sooo much lower than my shop. so unless im ontop of it i dont feel it. also be careful of poping the breaker i cant have the heater and my air compressor on the same line.

    • @_Shopfix
      @_Shopfix  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks for the tips! My garage is certainly smaller which enables the one unit to heat up the shop so well. I have my radiant heater on a dedicated electrical line as to avoid that problem of poping the breaker. I wish you the best of luck with your future projects, take care.

    Garage needs to fully insulated...if not, it’s useless, just drawing power and money out ur pocket

      My one car garage is not insulated on the ceiling in the attic nor the garage door and it still works great for me!

      A radiant heater will heat you and the things you're working on. Good insulation not required.

      An insulated garage must be heated though to prevent mold issues. This can be more expensive than just heating an uninsulated garage when needed

    Does it heat whole 2 car garage to 70 degrees.

    • @_Shopfix
      @_Shopfix  2 роки тому +1

      No, you would need two units for that at least. Also depends on how cold it is outside and insulation, etc…

    • @TheNezfamily
      @TheNezfamily 2 роки тому +1

      No it will not and even with two, it will not. I used this and two other 1500w forced air space heaters, but used only two plugged in at opposite areas so it will not set off breaker. I have a 24 x 24 garage used for a personal gym. Garage is insulated but the double car garage doors aren't sealed and can't be. I sealed one door with duck tape around cracks and old blankets to seal top of door where it rolls up. I still use this electric heater, but I currently use a DYNA GLO 20,000 BTU Radiant Vent Less Propane/Natural gas heater used with a 100lb propane tank that sits outside. My garage when at 20-30F outside will warm to 60-70F within 15 minutes or so, even sooner with the electric heater. I used my DYNA GLO last winter 5-6 days a week with a full 100lb propane bottle filled at $65 and still had 30% propane when I went to get it filled this year, which cost around $35. My double garage is a detached garage and summer normal energy use was about $15-20 month, but winter use was about $40-70 monthly when I used all electric heaters even while still chilly in there. I use about $20-25 monthly with everything I got now, lights, TV, frig, timer and this heater. Thanks to my DYNA GLO. Roughly I spent about $250 with the DYNA GLO and low pressure regulator. I already had the propane tank. If you went with a 30,000 BTU vent less propane heater you'd be set

      @@TheNezfamily can't be using propane heater when I paint my truck again though but will need insulation in garage more too. Putting on ceiling of garage next year.

    Can comfort zone heaters be put on a timer?

    • @_Shopfix
      @_Shopfix  2 роки тому +2

      Yes, you can plug a space heater into a timer as long as it doesn't surpass the power limits of the timer. Most timers can handle the amount of power a space heater needs. However, you should still check the power requirements of your timer switch for safety reasons.
