I always recommend learning to mine quantanium with a Prospector first. If you over charge a rock, you can boost away and save your ship before a rock blows up. But once you can consistently bring back 32/32 pure quantanium loads and are leaving q rock behind then its time to upgrade to soloing in the Mole
Awesome video, I've had my Prospector for over a year now and got bored/tired of cracking those 3-5 rock packs, finding the best rocks to get close to a 32 haul and repeating. This video convinced me to upgrade, i don't mind the more patient playstyle as a solo, it more relaxing and I'm looking forward into getting back into mining in 3.18
Thank you, got a Mole as a subscriber for a month. did not even know to turn the mining laser's on lol you helped me out a lot. Keep up the good work my friend. :)
i recommend switching to the MOLE only after learning the different laser heads and mineral resistance in the prospector. This ship is expensive and it's studied for the late gameplay when the money income has to be raised.

It turns out that turning the power of in the central turret also turns off the ships power. 😬😆 A few seconds later i also learned that the mole can handle falling down 140 m on its back.
Prospector or Mole, for me its all about efficiency. Mining asteroids where i found a lot of 10% and once in a while a 35%-40% one. I learned although you don't get a kick out of it. I earn quicker a million UEC with the quick 10% runs then looking for an at least say 20% asteroid. But my preference would be the Mole. Because in case you hit the jackpot ur glad using a mole. Prospector seems also way WAY more buggy.

I agree and welcome feedback. I am a fairly new player In the Star Citizen scene so do try to keep how new players think in mind being I have that mindset. Scanning for rocks is with a prospector easier, off course travel in a straight line towards a quantum jump so you can get easy back. Another thing, when you have no helmet in a MOLE. You are in a world of hurt. Every time you switch to the mining laser by suffocation you lose health so yeah also the MOLE has bugs. Last naughty note on your video. Why not use a second account, step with both accounts into your MOLE and mine that way. Most people have a laptop so could be viable.
So far my experience with this Mole has not been great. If it isn't the mysterious power issues it's the mining lasers bugging out and not showing what charge I'm at, which caused one to explode taking out the ship since it didn't even appear to be doing anything. This is after spending 40 minutes or so just trying to find a decent rock. I'm glad some benevolent player gifted me with the 5 million to purchase it without me even asking because if I had worked hard for that money, or spent actual money, I'd be going insane right now.
I use the MOLE all the time and have had great success with it. I run with my org almost everyday and you should consider joining us since you like mining. Look up the UEMC, we are a mining organization but do a bit of other game play loops as well.
If you are picky with the prospector what you suck in but not picky with the mole, the prospector will for sure earn you more AUC/hour. I don't understand the reasoning why you should not also be picky with the mole. It will only improve your returns.
How do you mine in a Mole . I use my mouse and its so bad i given up but i have friends that use stick they do it fast . There is big different from miuse scrolwheel and flight stick . Is there different on mouses to ? Or can i buy something that make mining lazer easier to use ?
