"What I want, you can't give me." Always love it when a villain tries to beg for their life and that line is the hero's response, usually because they've lost family/a loved one...
Yes. Also I think it more 'elegantly' explains WHY Hawkeye is killing gangsters who technically never wronged him or anyone he knew. His 'madness' came from the total randomness of 'the snap', in that he felt it was a grave injustice that 'evil doers' were spared and good people were taken. Not rational when you consider the snap was indeed "RANDOM" in that both good and bad would be taken, but it's a fantastic view into Hawkeye's mindset. He cannot stand by do nothing while there is still evil in the world, even though that 'evil' has nothing to do with him or anyone he knows.
Right ?? I was so confused the first time watching it cuz I could understand Jp, Eng and Chinese. I was like "the chinese sub isn't matching to the words floating on the screen , and non of them matches to the voice , wtf"
This scene was important in establishing just how powerful Hawkeye is. While he is no match against the rest of the Avengers, he can easily dominate entire cartels and gangs with a blade or a bow.
This is actually written like a Japanese scene, down to the bad guy uselessly begging for his life and trying to bribe the guy who's been killing him at the last moment.
Thats what made this scene epic, its like an entire movie with its own plot within a movie, almost forgot ur watching a movie about a purple alien dude.

I'm probably one of the minority that actually loves Clint. He's just a normal human on a team of superheros and gods, yet with just a sword and some throwing knives, was able to take out not just the Yakuza, but apparently also the Mexican cartel! All of whom had guns. Clint is an absolute badass!
Endgame took Clint's character to another level and Renner's portrayal is fantastic! I loved how they showed that even a member on the avengers team can have a human relatablility and Clint has that human relatability because he has a normal life and a family and has that vulnerability to him too, he makes mistakes and he isn't perfect which is evident in the ronin scene!
Thanos kills half the universe: Cap: opens mental health group Natasha: Gets depressed Cap Marvel: Helps other planets Bruce: works on self Thor: becomes depressed and drinks a lot Hawkeye: “KILLS EVERY SINGLE CARTEL/MAFIA/GANG/SYNDICATE HE CAN GET HIS HANDS ON.”
Not to mention that he played another samurai bad guy character in another Marvel movie (The Wolverine). It confused the hell out of me since they are both killed and I was convinced it must be supposed to be the same character until I looked it up ...
0:29-0:33. It really showed how Clint was far superior not only in fighting, but in agility as well. I mean, Akihiko fell on his feet, sure, but he stumbled a bit. Clint, on the other hand, just landed like the height meant nothing to him.
Two things: 1 - Major props to whoever wrote, composed, and directed this scene. Not only was it a pretty clean one-shot, someone else in the comments mentioned how it was sort of like an homage to Japanese style-cinema. Watching this in theaters, for the first time, you could really feel the jarring but effective tone shift. Its unlikely that someone could absorb all the nuance on first viewing, but after seeing it multiple times its evident that this scene did a really, really good job of informing us of where Clint was at during this point of time through the change of his fight style, his words to his opponent, and his single-minded focus of fucking everyone up. 2 - I love the fact that they went the Ronin route with Hawkeye. I'm sure a decent amount of MCU fans tried to figure out who this character was when it Renner was shown to have a costume shift -- there are a couple of different videos out there describing the comic timeline behind it. Ronin, however, is more of a persona than a character, like a mantle to be worn by those who need it. What I'm most excited about its connection to its original wearer, Echo / Maya Lopez, who's confirmed to be in the Hawkeye series. (Details: she's a deaf, Native American 'super'hero with an enhanced photographic memory. Her power is essentially learning another persons patterns and fighting style in the middle of combat and then using their martial weaknesses to take her opponents out). Hawkeye's story in Infinity War/Endgame mirrors Echo's comic origins: they both seek vengeance for the people who hurt their family. This gives us the chance to explore the limitations and parallels of the characters backgrounds and disabilities, and I'm so excited for it. (Maybe they'll also give us a passing reference to Daredevil / Matt Murdock, another important part of Echo's story and character representation of heroes with disabilities)
@@sangokus6478 // (I know but the beginning of Endgame is technically Clint's part of Infinity War: ie, it was the time period before Endgame's 5 years of the snap, where his life was turned into dust and he likely thought that he was going insane for a while)

So glad Marvel had the guts to make Hawkeye a ruthless killer. Taking a slightly comedic B Level Hero on a team of higher beings and making him the most violent and serious so quickly is awesome.
Unless its deadpool or wolverine...then he'd pretty much be screwed. But hey props for him showing up in 2 marvel franchises n taking the mantle of scorpion!
Just remember that none of the people who died after the first snap come back. Multiple police chiefs rematerialises and finds out that they can retire.
Seems kinda self-explanatory. He’s probably had nightmares about losing his family every day since he fell in love with Laurel. Now he’s five years into his worst nightmare. This vigilante mission is half taking out his rage/grief on scumbags who were spared while his innocent family died, half suicide mission so he can have an honorable death & be reunited with Laurel & the kids.
@kiraxxxxxxxxx Just because it's a cliche doesn't make it untrue. The basic reason that 99% of the people out there who have everything that Hawkeye's got inside of them in terms of vengeance when someone takes away something they care about because they have a moral code. But sometimes when they take away everything you ever loved you wind up like he did. At that point the moral code doesn't matter
Sorry to dissapoint you but: After we see Loki, Bucky and Vision got nerfed in 3 Disney Plus Shows, they're gonna nerfed Clint as well and he will be a side character on his own show and mainly focus to Kate Bishop as his protegee. Well, in Vision's case, he's already got nerfed in Infinity War and he's already dead but create by Wanda from her power. I've already predicted that he and Yelena will become friends anyway and they respect each other and go to their separate ways after one event in a show. Kinda a bit dissapointed that Marvel chose to make a show of Hawkeye after the Endgame event instead of his Ronin era. And we could have had in a John Wick-style of world, where chaos and murder are norm of the era.

“You are evil, yet you survived... why is that?” I feel like that is the more literal translation...
@@Frankie2012channel Also, it seems even less random to him probably. These evil guys were left while his entire family was taken.

Endgame took Clint's character to another level and Renner's portrayal is fantastic! 0:29-0:33. It really showed how Clint was far superior not only in fighting, but in agility as well. I mean, Akihiko fell on his feet, sure, but he stumbled a bit. Clint, on the other hand, just landed like the height meant nothing to him.
Well thats why he is an Avenger, the Yakuza boss was unlucky.
He is trained like his long time friend, Natasha (as a spy, assassin)
Two things:
1 - Major props to whoever wrote, composed, and directed this scene.
He wasn't really there during IW.
@@sangokus6478 // (I know but the beginning of Endgame is technically Clint's part of Infinity War: ie, it was the time period before Endgame's 5 years of the snap, where his life was turned into dust and he likely thought that he was going insane for a while)
