Just got my Q ball because they're discontinued now. I have wanted one since it came out. Don't know why I waited so long lol. LOVE my techno too... it's just sooo good! Glade you used it for comparison.
Thanks for the video on the Q Ball. I think you're one of the first UA-camrs to review it. I'm a pocket knife collector and have yet to add a Spyderco to the collection. I've been looking at the Q Ball, Kiwi4, Sage 3, and the Chaparral. I also am keeping an eye on the Caly3 and Meerkat sprint runs that are scheduled. I like a deeper pocket clip and smaller knives. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help.
Damn I want that knife how do you get them so quick! I was just at Spyderco's factory store in Golden Colorado 2 weeks ago and they didn't have this knife yet.
Do you feel this is overpriced at $178.11 with VG10 steel? Especially considering a Manix 2, with the same lock, same materials, and longer blade is $110.47 with S30V.
It seems all the VG10 knives from Spyderdo are overpriced. I paid $85 for my standard black G10 S30v Manix 2. I really would like the Q Ball but it should realistically be like a $100 knife. I usually just wait for the knives to get discontinued, like right now. Just got the Pattada and Mantra on clearance, both cheaper then the Q Ball with higher quality components.
Maybe, because it's a wharnie, which the manix 2 obviously is not. You are paying for design over the basic design of manix. Manix is a top favorite for me, but its very common and the design is less intricate. Vg 10 gets a bad rap. Really fun to sharpen. Don't let public opinion on vg 10 get you. Consider treatments, ability to maintain and great beater material. My manix 2 xl or manix light weight are s30v, and not better than my endura 4. Knife industry doesn't put a price on size but rather design, collab designer and utility.
130 to my door for qball and a delica from bhq. Wanted this one ever since i saw it, initially to swap the BB into my dodo, but VG10 in a production knife will never get $200 from me. After i sell the delica ill be left with ~$80 qball... steal of a deal.
